The JackHammer Series by MTX offers just what its name implies — aggressive styling with plenty of hard-hitting power, so your system will look great and sound even better. The chrome detailing and powder-coated steel chassis with vented bumper guards provide exceptional durability, while the MTX logo lets people know you're packing serious power.

The JH600 mono subwoofer amplifier delivers up to 600 wattts RMS to your subwoofer setup. Patented MTX technologies process and amplify your signal without wasting energy and creating harmful levels of heat. Active Fan Cooling speeds up the internal fan as you turn your volume up, so more cool air reaches the inner workings as power demands increase. Variable filters help you match the signal output to your speakers, and a bass boost lets you control the "boom" in your sound.

My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

I have just gotten this Amp tonight as recommended by a friend and I'm not disappointed. I have it attached to a dual 12" jackhammer sub and the progressive beats that came outta there scared the shizzit outta my eardrums. So powerful! Not disappointed! I have to do some tweaking, this is my first big car audio system. Love it!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have this hooked up to dual 12" Jackhammer subs.
This amp is wayyy underrated and delivers massive amounts of POWER!
I have it in my 00' Dodge Durango and the last time I drove with it on was an hour ago and I
still feel tremors.

This was my first amp, and I've been using it to power my 12" type-r. Right now it's running at 2 ohms and supposedly it's getting 600 watts. I've heard my friend's type r running off of an equivilantly powered amp, and his sounds better. Don't get me wrong, the watt to cost ratio is pretty good, but it just seems like the power could sound a little more clean.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Amp looks impressive, easy to hook up and has plenty of current to drive my Sub.

The Amp can run 1, 2 or 4 subs which is nice when I want to add more Subs.

Installation is a little more than just a couple wires.
the only advice is to read the directions before you hook anything up, and it will go smooth. It's not rocket science, it just has options for different ways to set it up. so read the directions.
This amp is a deal at this price. really pounds nice.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have had an MTX amp for 9 years. I recently upgraded my subs to 2 Kicker 12" Solo Barics
and decided why not get a new amp too. I bought this JH600 because 1. its MTX and 2. can't
beat the price. Buying this was the best decision I ever made! This amp is built heavy duty
and way under rated. I have so much power now I don't even have the gain turned up! I
would highly recommend this amp to anyone looking for power and a reliable name brand
at an affordable price!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ive had this amp for a while and it has not dissapointed me one bit. I have it powering two 10' kicker compvr in a custom ported box for my 01 gmc sierra. Its has never ever turned off and the fan works great. Lots of power. I am running a four ohm load overall and i wanted to try the two ohm load so i bought an alpine type-r. Its got the fan working a lot harder which is good, that way i now it wont overheat. this thing doesnt dim my lights hardly at all. I have to turn it up alot for them to barely dim.

I purchased this amp based on the mtx name and reputation. I was NOT dissapointed! I matched this amp up to a pair of 12'' jackhammer 55 sereis subs in a Atrend dual ported box tuned to 38hz and boy do they pound! Im not new to the car audio scene and install and tune every system in my vehicles for about 8 years now. This amp delivers and THEN SOME! This amp came with a "Birth certificate" that states its ACTUAL RMS OUTPUT! Mine produced 662 watts RMS @ 2 ohm and 1324 watts peak! I have run this amp very hard and thanx to the cooling fan it NEVER overheats! MY ears are the only thing that starts to give in. This amp plays very, loud, clean and accurate. A trademark of MTX. Even if its a few bucks more it is worth buying. MTX and Crutchfield both have the best customer service reps anyone could ask for if there is ever an issue, which is doubtful. Save your pennies and buy this amp!

This amp is packed with features and is very easy to wire up. The most impressive
feature of this amp is the variable low pass filter and variable subsonic filter, super
important for controlling the subs. I have it hooked up to two Infinity Reference 1252's
and I couldnt be more happy with the accurate lows this combination makes. It will
pound the streets, guaranteed! And did I mention its pretty sweet looking too!

I called Crutchfield and asked for a recommendation on an amp that would power One or Two Infinity Perfect 10 Subs (i.e. one installed all the time and one that can be removed when the trunkspace is needed) and he paired me with this amp. Could not be more pleased!!

First off i bought this with the MTX JH4512-X2D enclosure, and they both arrived
2 days after i ordered. So as far as performance goes this is a strong amp. It
powers the subs fine, and produces strong, deep, and powerful bass. It makes my
subs work to their fullest. A good reliable product will buy MTX again in the

BUY THIS AMP !!! i like another was a lil skeptiacal about purchasing this amp due to the reviews given to it, so i promised my self if i liked it i would comment on it to help others. needless to say once again mtx didn;t disappoint.. this amp pushes power like no other in its class. i recently had a 1000.1 amp that literally fried on me. so after installing this i was like WHOA... my sub hits harder now than before.i have an mtx 15 in a slot ported enclosure and all i can say is wow. i am no rookie to car audio i change up my system about every 4-6 months but i think i will keep this amp at the price crutchfield is selling it you can't afford not to but it

Amp seems to run fine wired at 4 ohm and performs as described, but im a little skeptical on how long it will last. The amp is made in china, and the amp gut is hideous. There are bent parts and dry glue everywhere, as if it was poured all over the board. The amp seems to be assembled very poorly. I would recommend getting something else in the same price range.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Be careful with this amp! My second one i had sent to me just broke and the outputs aren't sending any power now. I recommend staying away from this, fair price, but i've had nothing but bad luck with this amp and the MTX enclosure with dual tens, MTX didn't even wire the box right. I'm pretty fed up with MTX and switching everything over to JL Audio, which I should have done in the first place.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a nice amp small, thiny and nice design. I bought this for two 10s
mtx t55 and they work juss fine. I think it can sound better because i have
installed with my stock head unit (I juss put a little converter box for the rca
cables) The installer said that I can add another sub to this amp and
probably I gonna do it but later because is too much power for me(good
thing) This is my first time using mtx and I just know that is pure

CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a new system of testing and measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for determining an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured into a 4-ohm load, with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) plus noise, and at a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz when applicable. Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4 ohms. CEA-2006 allows consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers on an equal basis. The MTX Jack Hammer JH600 under CEA-2006 regulations is rated at 350 Watts RMS x 1 channel with a 70dBA signal to noise ratio.

2-Ohm Stable: The MTX mono-amplifier is capable of handling load impedances down to 2-ohms. The amplifier is rated at 600 Watts RMS x 1 channel in 2 ohms with 1% THD.

Mono-Block Amplifier: The MTX Terminator JH600 is designed with specific features to power your subwoofer or subwoofers with a frequency range between 20 to 200 Hz. This amplifier is not designed to power a full-range speaker.

Class-D Design: The JH600 is a Class D mono-block amplifier, which uses digital switching to amplify audio signals. This design results in high efficiency and less heat.

Active Fan Cooling: Rather than weighing the amplifier down with heavy aluminum heat sinks, the Jack Hammer amplifier is cooled using a variable speed internal fan. The increasing output of the amplifier engages the fan to automatically increase its speed allowing more cool air to enter the amplifier. This keeps the amplifier performing at its peak level longer and prevents the amplifier from going into thermal shutdown due to overheating. The fan will automatically slow down when the amplifier's output is decreased.

Protection Circuits: The JH600 provides Thermal and Overload protection with LED indicators.

Stackable: You can stack up to three Jack Hammer amplifier on top of one another using the supplied "JackStands".

Crossover: The JH600 features a variable 40Hz to 200Hz, 24db/Oct crossover to match the frequency response of your connected subwoofer(s).

Bass Boost: The amplifier's bass boost is adjustable from 0-12dB at 40Hz.

Sub-Sonic Filter: This amp features an adjustable 20 to 50Hz, 12dB/octave Sub-Sonic Filter. Ultra-low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by a subwoofer do not become sound but become unnecessary oscillations, which affect sound by causing distortion. These frequencies also waste amplifier power and can cause damage to speakers. Setting the Sub-Sonic Filter between 20Hz to 50Hz cuts the frequencies below the respective frequency to improve the reproduction performance of the speakers by eliminating harmful distortion.

Remote Bass Knob: The MTX JH600 comes supplied with a wired remote bass knob which allows you to adjust the bass output of the amplifier. The bass knob is designed to be mounted underneath your vehicle's dash within arm's length so its easily accessible to the driver. The bass knob connects to the amplifier using the supplied 16.5' RJ-11 cord. The wired remote bass knob measures 2.655" wide x 0.755" tall x 1.955" deep.

Power/Ground/Turn-On Connections: The JH600 features set-screw terminals for the Power, Ground and Remote turn-on lead. The Power and Ground terminals will accommodate up to an 4 AWG wire, while the Remote turn-on lead will accept up to a 16 AWG wire.

RCA Inputs: The pair of RCA type line-level inputs have gain (Input Sensitivity) control. The Input Sensitivity control will accept an input signal of 250mV to 5.0 Volts.

Smart-Engage Speaker Level Input: The Jack Hammer JH600 comes with a set of speaker level input harnesses. This feature makes it easier to add an amplifier to a factory radio or to a receiver with no preamp outputs. When using the speaker-level inputs, the amp automatically turns on when it senses signal from the head unit, eliminating the need for a remote turn-on connection. In many cases, this feature will allow you to install the amplifier without removing your radio.

Parallel Speaker Connections: The amplifier is equipped with two pairs of speaker terminals for an easy parallel subwoofer connection. The set-screw speaker terminals will accommodate 12 to 8 AWG speaker wire.

EBC: RJ-11 connection for connecting the supplied wired remote bass knob.

Fuse: The amplifier is equipped with three 25-AMP fuses.
