About the MTX RTX108

John Pollard
They'll hear you coming
Are you looking to play your music loud? If so, you'll want to check out MTX's Road Thunder Extreme speakers, which use PA system technology to bring concert sound levels to your car. MTX built the RTX108 10" midbass speaker to fill in the frequencies in between where your tweeters and subwoofers play. And, believe us — this incredibly efficient speaker will give you plenty of volume when you feed it some serious power.

And, believe us — this incredibly efficient speaker will give you plenty of volume when you feed it some serious power.

Built for high power
The RTX108 handles up to 250 watts RMS thanks to its hefty magnet, treated paper cone, and cloth surround. You can also easily run two of these 8-ohm speakers with a single amplifier channel, great news if you're installing two in each door. You can install this speaker in an enclosure if you want, but it works great in a free-air applications.

Note: This package contains one speaker. You'll need an external amplifier to drive this speaker properly — an in-dash stereo won't have enough power.

Customer Q&A

Q
will these work to replace the rear speakers in my 1999 toyota solara v6?
levi  Jan 08, 2024
1 answer
A
These MTX RTX108 10" mid bass speakers are not a fit in your 1999 Toyota Solara, Levi. Most vehicles cannot fit a 10" speaker in factory locations, and this particular MTX 10" mid bass speaker is designed for custom applications and SPL competition systems. Check out the Infinify Reference REF-9633ix 6x9's in the link below. The Infinity 6x9 speakers are a physical fit in your rear deck location and would require re-drilling of the mounting holes for install. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R9633IM/Infinity-Reference-REF-9633ix.html

Q
Will this be able to fit in my 2001 Mitsubishi mirage es?
joshyboy650  Feb 20, 2023
1 answer
A
This MTX RTX108 10" midbass speaker is a custom installation speaker, Joshua. This will not fit in any factory location on your 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage es. This speaker is a really good choice for a competition level custom sound system that has a larger, deeper playing subwoofer for use in conjunction with the MTX RTX108 10" speaker. If you are looking for good low-end performance and not specifically building a competition level setup, check out this MTX 3510-02 10" 2-ohm sub in the first link below. This performs better for low bass, and you can use the small single ported box in the second link it is a good fit! We do not qualify universal items for vehicle fitment so measure carefully, the single 10" is usually small enough to fit in the trunk of most vehicles. Add an amp that delivers around 250-watts RMS and you have a great setup! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_236351002/MTX-3510-02.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_419SB110V/SPL-Boxes-SB110V.html

Q
Do this fit in a 2012 ford focus se front door?
sincere  Dec 17, 2022
1 answer
A
This MTX RTX108 10" midbass speaker will not fit, Joel. It looks like in your SE a 6 1/2" replacement speaker is a good call. The MTX Thunder65's in the link below look to be a good fit. Make sure you enter your Ford's details into our online Vehicle Guide in the second link below and we will make sure to pair any install gear you will need for a successful install! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_236THND65/MTX-Thunder65.html https://www.crutchfield.com/m_399/Car-Speakers.html

Q
i have a acura rL 2007 i was wondering how many of these would i have to purchase to get rid of all my other speakers for good , or do i have even but multiple of these ?? im new to cars
eddie  Dec 12, 2022
1 answer
A
We are here to help, Edmond. In your Acura RL you can use the Focal ISU components in the first link below to replace your front door woofers and front tweeters. You can use the matching 5 1/4 Focal ISUs in the second link below to replace your rear door woofers and rear tweeters. We do not have any replacement fits for your center dash or factory subwoofer, you would have to go custom there. This setup would sound great on your factory radio, with or without an amplifier. I hope this helps! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_091ISU165/Focal-ISU-165.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_091ISU130/Focal-ISU-130.html
