Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These subs can pound if you get them set up correctly. If you are placing them in a ported box i would suggest that you buy two amplifiers instead of hooking them parallel to a multi-channel amp. they push against each other and the amp sends the power to the sub with the least resistance. all in all for the price these subs are a good buy.

Features

Polypropylene Cone: The woofer features a silver polypropylene cone with a raised MTX Audio and tribal design logo. Polypropylene is lightweight yet durable and offers efficient, dependable bass response.

High Roll NBR Surround: The woofer features a stitched high roll Nitrile-Butylene Rubber surround which uses FEA optimized roll geometry to maximize excursion without sacrificing cone surface area.

Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound on a high-temperature former to promote high power handling.

Asymmetrical Linear Drive System (ALDS): The Asymmetrical Linear Drive System consists of a flat, progressive spider that improves suspension and an extended vented pole piece that smoothes out the cone's linear motion. The result is high output and low distortion.

Spider Plateau Venting: Heat from the voice coil is vented through metal-mesh covered vents that surround the back of the spider.

Enclosure Compatibility

Recommended Sealed Box Volume: MTX recommends mounting this woofer in a sealed enclosure made out of 3/4" MDF with an internal volume of 1.25 cu/ft.

Recommended Vented Box Volume: MTX recommends a ported enclosure made out of 3/4" MDF with an internal volume of 2.00 cu/ft using a 2" wide x 14" tall slot port that is 16.75" long.
