Upgrade your power for better sound

This compact amp will fit almost anywhere, driving your subwoofer setup with up to 1,000 watts RMS. Hook this amp up to a nice set of subs, and you'll hear sounds you've never heard before, even in your favorite songs.

Versatility

MTX knows that your system changes over time, and this amp will adapt to almost any subwoofer situation. It'll send 350 watts to a single sub now, but it's capable of delivering up to an awesome 1,000 watts to a 1-ohm load, so you don't have to buy a new amp to handle a multiple sub setup later on. It's amazing to think that so much power comes from an amp that'll almost fit on a piece of computer paper. This little bruiser will fit in places where amps don't usually go.

Advanced tone control

You can adjust the low-pass filter and subsonic filter to get the best possible sound from your sub and enclosure. In the unlikely event you want to bump up the bass a little, you also have access to a selectable bass boost.

Product Research

Features

Mono Amplifier: The MTX TD1000.1D is designed with specific features to power your subwoofer or subwoofers with a frequency range between 20 to 220 Hz. This amplifier is not designed to power a full-range speaker.

THD: The Total Harmonic Distortion isn't given at the rated power output, therefore it isn't listed in the specifications table. The manual does list THD as <0.3% at 30% of rated power (105 watts) into a 4-ohm load.

Protection Circuits: The TD1000.1D provides protection against over heating, output short-circuit, and over/under power supply voltage.

Gain: The rotary gain control is continuously variable from 200 mV to 5 V.

Bass Boost: A three position switch adjusts the amplifier's bass boost; set to 0, +6 dB, or +12 dB. The boost is centered at 50 Hz.

Low Pass Crossover: The TD1000.1D features a 12 dB/octave low pass crossover, continuously variable from 40 to 220 Hz. The crossover is always engaged (it cannot be bypassed).

Sub-Sonic Filter: The amp features a 12dB/octave sub-sonic filter, adjustable from 10 to 50 Hz. Ultra-low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by the subwoofer do not become sound but unnecessary oscillations, which affect sound by causing distortion. These frequencies also waste amplifier power and can cause damage to the speakers. The sub-sonic filter removes the frequencies below the frequency setting to improve the performance of the speakers by eliminating harmful distortion.

Power/Ground/Turn-On: The TD1000.1D features set-screw terminals for power, ground and remote turn-on. The power and ground terminals will accommodate up to 4 gauge wire (which MTX recommends), while the Remote turn-on terminal will accept up to 10 gauge wire.

Warranty Note: MTX will add a year to the standard one year warranty (for a total of two years) when an appropriate StreetWires amplifier wiring kit is used with this amp (4 gauge minimum). In this case, the StreetWires kits include a 150 amp fuse, which should be replaced with a 100 amp fuse (item number 211FAFS100, sold separately) to match the requirements for this amp. Both the amp and wiring kit should be purchased on the same order and the usual warranty limitations apply (covers manufacturing defects, must be purchased from an authorized MTX dealer, etc.).

Line Level Input: The signal is input using the stereo RCA inputs.

Speaker Connections: The amplifier is equipped with two pair of set-screw speaker terminals, internally shorted together, making it easy to connect two subwoofers. The terminals will accommodate up to 8 gauge wire.

EBC: There is a 3.5mm EBC (External Bass Control) jack on the amp, but as of 4/22/12 a compatible wired remote has not been released.

5 Year Warranty Terms: This product carries a 5-Year Prorated Warranty with the following terms:

  • Years 1-2: Products found to be defective in materials or workmanship during the first two years will be, at Mitek's option, repaired or replaced by Mitek at no charge. The warranty period does not renew, but continues on from the original date of purchase.
  • Years 3-5: The purchase price of an item which becomes defective after the first two years and prior to the end of the warranty period will be prorated and credited toward the purchase of a new MTX product. The amount of proration is determined by dividing the original purchase price by the number of months in the warranty period (60), then multiplying the result by the number of months remaining in the warranty period.

Q
What is the EBC port for?

It is to hook up a wired bass knob within reach of the driver. Think of it as sub volume control
jonathan  Feb 07, 2014

The EBC (External Bass Control) port allows one to utilize a remote and/or wired controller to manipulate bass boost / gain controls from within the cab of the car. Basically to turn the amp up and down for bass control. This AMP did not come with said remote, i believe that is an additional purchase.
joseph  Jan 30, 2014

it is for a bass controller it does not come with one, it lets you control your bass level
adam  Jan 30, 2014

It's like a electronic bass control knob. So you can turn your bass up and down easy with a little knob

Remote bass control
matthew j  Jan 30, 2014

An EBC (External Bass Control) is a Remote Subwoofer Level Control (Remote Gain) - Let's say the amplifier's gain is set at halfway, when the remote subwoofer level control is plugged in, you now have external control of the gain from zero to halfway. The installation of this level control is NOT necessary to get full power from the amplifier. Note: One EBC (External Bass Control) can control two or more amplifiers using a mini plug Y adapter.

Awesome amp, delivers some loud bass!!!! This will give you what you are looking for. I recommend the wiring kit. Just talk to a rep they will point you in the right direction.

This amp will definitly give you the bass you want paired with the right subs of course. I'm using my amp with two jl 12w6 in a ported enclosure and it pushes them with problems. Great amp for the price and the size of the amp will surprise you.
efrain  Dec 24, 2013

This amp will power anything you throw at it. For the price you won't find a better amp. If you want booming bass go with big ported boxes with your subs. This amp is small chassis, but puts out a lot of juice. I would recommend this amp to everyone looking for a inexpensive amp.
andy  Dec 24, 2013

I haven't installed the amp yet it should do the job this is a powerful amp. You will need subs and a box and wiring to complete it.
anthony  Dec 23, 2013

This amp would definitely be plenty of power for the boom you're looking for, but just as a fair warning, it isn't a fused amp which lacks the security that most people like. The power is big (for a new system), but it isn't a really clean power.. Just as a bit of my own preference, I'd pick out a set of subs and a nice ported box (or build your own if you're up to it), and then match an amp to the subs. I find that a little easier. Don't skimp on the box, or the wiring kit. And, you'll either need a Line-In converter or an aftermarket head unit if you don't already have one. That's about it, though, if you're just looking for bass in the music. If you want more, proceed on to replacing factory speakers in the car with aftermarket ones.
dylan  Dec 23, 2013

Yes, this will give you the loud boom! I listen to bass heavy dub step so I know what you're looking for and it is also for beginners. I would advise buying a capacitor too to maximize the amount of boom you get. Good luck!
carter b  Dec 23, 2013

Well it depends what you're using it for. I you use it to power up subwoofers then sure this is a great amp. It's a 1000w amp running at 1 ohm which means each speaker gets 500 watts. So make sure you have speakers that can hold that much.
