It's time to upgrade
MTX is looking out for you. They designed the Terminator Series speakers to put out serious sound without you having to empty your bank account. If you've been dying to replace your burned-out factory speakers, but haven't been able to justify the expense, MTX takes guilt out of the equation.
What a speaker
This Terminator52 5-1/4" component speaker system will take your in-car audio experience to the next level. The separate polypropylene woofer and Mylar tweeter are vast improvements over the standard paper cones used by factory speakers. With the sensitivity of these new materials, you'll gain more focus in the midrange and clearer highs, even from the power of a factory stereo. But if you have an aftermarket stereo or amp, you can listen with confidence since these puppies can handle up to 35 watts RMS. Grilles are included for a custom installation.
Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.

Features
Woofer Cones: The MTX Terminator series speakers feature durable and rigid polypropylene woofer cones. Polypropylene is also resistant to the moisture and temperature extremes found in automotive applications.
5x7 Bracket: The included brackets have a tweeter knock-out (approximately 1.69" diameter), so both the woofer and tweeter can be mounted in a 5x7 opening. The brackets will also fit many 6x8 openings, but don't have the 6x8 screw pattern. If mounted in a 6x8 application, a least two new screw holes must be drilled.
Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters can be flush mounted, angled mounted (semi-flush), or surface mounted using the included hardware. Once flush mounted or surface mounted, the tweeter will pivot approximately 10° in any direction.
Tweeter Dimensions:
Frame Diameter | Cutout Diameter | Mounting Height | Mounting Depth | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Flush Mount | 1.843" | 1.643" | 0.220" | 0.841" |
Angled Mount | 2.125" x 1.752" | 1" x 1.355" | 1.01" | 0.35" |
Surface Mount | 1.888" | N/A | 0.984" | Screw Depth |
Crossovers: The high pass crossovers are built into the tweeter frames.
Specification Note: MTX seems to list contradicting power specifications on the box; with the other specifications they list 70 watts peak, but on the front of the box they list 105 watts max power. We've adopted the 70 watt rating simply because it's the more conservative figure.
