Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

They're not the best but they're not the worst, defenitelly get your money's worth out of them though. Not the greatest bass but if you looking for something that just works and cam at least muffle the sound of the road then this is what you want my friends.

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: None so far

Great Low Cost Upgrade!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a 2012 Ram 1500 Tradesman HD, which is a regular cab pickup. The dash speakers that come with the system are 8 Ohm, and are wired to the 4 Ohm Door Speakers. The factory system is 2 Ohm Stable, so I looked at 4 Ohm speakers to replace the dash speakers.

After much searching, I came across these MTX speakers. The high sensitivity and large tweeter seemed perfect for what I was looking for. The installation was incredibly straightforward, and the included Crutchfield directions and adapters allowed me to upgrade the speakers within minutes. The results are great, as it brings my sound stage up to my actual ears. Highs are clear and crisp, and the midrange is much clearer than it was before. A simple 69 dollar upgrade completely transformed my ride.

Pros: High sensitivity, clear midrange. Very high quality build, with a long factory warranty. You'll spend much more to receive a similarly built 3.5" speaker.

Cons: None so far.

These little speakers are a huge upgrade for my dash being powered off an apline cde-hd149bt. Amazingly crisp/clear highs. The only reason I chose these were because focal doesnt make a 3.5. Not dissapoonted at all.

Pros: amazing crisp clear highs, and affordable

Cons: none

Huge improvement after upgrade front dash speakers with these guys. I kept the factory radio and changed all speakers. out of all speakers (real door & front door), these are more noticeable improvement. I dont have an amp and it sounds super clear.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This speaker really gives you a good bang for your buck. In the car audio world with all the wind and road noise factored in and even with the best sound insulation available I personally want a LOUD speaker. This speaker is extremely loud for what you pay for it. When you are cruising with the windows down you need some serious volume, period! This speaker is built tough and is amazingly loud and sounds great- especially for the price. I have been into car audio for 25 years and I know from experience that these are great little speakers for a great price.

Pros: -built tough, great sensitivity rating, loud, great value, good name

Cons: absolutely none

Great Speaker

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed these in the dash locations in a 2014 Mazda 3 I Touring with the non Bose system. Tight fit because of the magnet size but mounted with out ant issues. Speakers sound great and really bring in the mids and highs to the stock stereo.

Pros: Great sound and price.

Cons: None so far.

Woofer Cones: The MTX Thunder Series speakers feature durable and rigid polypropylene woofer cones. Polypropylene is also resistant to the moisture and temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Tweeters: Each speaker features a 20mm PEI dome tweeter. PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.

Warranty: MTX offers a 5-Year Prorated Warranty with the following terms:

  • Years 1-2: Products found to be defective in materials or workmanship during the first two years will be, at Mitek's option, repaired or replaced by Mitek at no charge. The warranty period does not renew, but continues on from the original date of purchase.
  • Years 3-5: The purchase price of an item which becomes defective after the first two years and prior to the end of the warranty period will be prorated and credited toward the purchase of a new MTX product. The amount of proration is determined by dividing the original purchase price by the number of months in the warranty period (60), then multiplying the result by the number of months remaining in the warranty period.
