From the soaring sounds of a guitar solo to the visceral impact of a kick drum, these speakers will put you in audio heaven. And MTX protects these speakers with their unique 5-year warranty.
High quality materials for excellent sound quality
MTX's TXC6.0 Thunder Axe 6-3/4” midbass speakers will add tight, punchy bass to almost any system. Each speaker features a glass-fiber cone that stays rigid under high power so your music doesn't sound sloppy when you crank it up, along with a durable rubber surround that'll keep things rocking for years to come. An external crossover ensures that only the right frequencies make it to these speakers for optimum audio quality. The crossover also gives you connections for adding these speakers to MTX's XC4.1 4" component system to create a 3-way system.

Woofer Cones: The woofer cones are woven glass fiber with aluminum deposition. The wire inputs are set screw terminals that will accept bare wire up to 10-gauge. The set screws are loosened/tightened using a 2mm Allen wrench (not included).
Mounting Options: Without using the included adapter ring, the TXC6.0 woofers fit standard 6-3/4" applications, and can be top or bottom mounted. Using the adapter ring, they fit standard and multi-hole 6-3/4" applications. The adapter ring adds approximately 0.4" to the mounting height and subtracts 0.4" from the depth.
Size Classification Note: Some manufacturers, including MTX, call this size speaker a 6-1/2". Because it requires a larger cutout than a standard 6-1/2" speaker, Crutchfield has traditionally referred to this size woofer as a 6-3/4". Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit in your vehicle.
Crossovers: The crossovers' inputs and outputs are screw terminals that accept bare wire or spade connectors up to 3/8" wide. They are 2-way crossovers, with low-pass outputs for the included woofers and high-pass outputs for a higher frequency component set or full range speaker. The high-pass and low-pass slopes are 12 dB/octave. There are dedicated inputs for the woofer and high-pass output, so the system can be bi-amplified. (Jumpers shorting the two inputs together are factory installed.)
Crossover Dimensions:
- Width: 7-3/4"
- Height: 1-3/4"
- Depth: 5"
Warranty: MTX offers a 5-Year Prorated Warranty with the following terms:
- Years 1-2: Products found to be defective in materials or workmanship during the first two years will be, at Mitek's option, repaired or replaced by Mitek at no charge. The warranty period does not renew, but continues on from the original date of purchase.
- Years 3-5: The purchase price of an item which becomes defective after the first two years and prior to the end of the warranty period will be prorated and credited toward the purchase of a new MTX product. The amount of proration is determined by dividing the original purchase price by the number of months in the warranty period (60), then multiplying the result by the number of months remaining in the warranty period.

I used these speaker to replace the factory sub in a 2001 Range Rover existing sub box. They worked great and sound better and tighter that the factory Harmen Karden set up.
