Get the bass, keep the space

MTX comes up with a great solution for adding impressive bass to your ride without sacrificing too much cargo room. The XThunderlink XTL110P powered subwoofer combines a 10" sub and a powerful amp in a compact enclosure that'll fit just about anywhere.

10" sub and 135 watts RMS

MTX designed the sealed enclosure to get maximum bass production from the stiff 10" polypropylene woofer. The durable built-in amplifier feeds the woofer 135 watts RMS, producing low-frequency firepower that's on par with that of many larger powered subs.

Customizable for your ride and your style

You can use the gain control to match this sub to your setup, and you have a choice of preamp- or speaker-level inputs for connecting to your system. The included brackets let you mount the XTL110P horizontally or vertically, whichever works best in your vehicle. MTX offers an optional wired remote that allows you adjust the volume from the driver's seat.

Customer Q&A

6 questions already asked

Q
Does this sub have any wiring needed?
j  May 10, 2017
2 answers
A
Yes. It has 2 types of inputs. Line (RCA) and load (Speaker lines from head unit). It comes with the harness for the speaker line hook up. If you want to use the line inputs, you will need RCA cables. In addition, it requires a 5volt line to turn it on when you turn on the head unit (Not Included) The instructions were not very clear on the 5 volt line.

A
It does not come with any wiring. You will need to purchase a wiring kit. Crutchfield has several to choose from.

Q
Does this have a wired remote? If not, is there one that is compatible?
daniel  Sep 06, 2016

A
It has a terminal for a remote turn on wire and that wire should be included in your separately purchased wiring harness. Just connect the remote turn on wire to the MTX and your head unit along with the other connections and you are good to go.

If I remember correctly you can purchase a wired remote. However unless you are dead set on this powered sub because of available space etc I would recommend consulting with a crutchfield rep and putting a box and amp package together. Had this powered sub about six months before it quit on me. This was a replacement for an infinity bass link that quit after a year. Installed a Rockford 10" sub and amp using the same wiring and have not had a single problem. In my opinion stay away from powered subs

Q
Does mtx XTL110P powereed sub have signal sensing turn on capabilities?

A
No, but most car radios especially the DVD types will turn on the amp when radio is turned on. This amp has an input for that feature.
anthony  May 26, 2016
A
If I am understanding your question correctly then yes. It is wired to power on when the head unit power on.
deborah  May 23, 2016
A
Yes. But I do not recommend this product as I am in the process of having it returned. Amp gets incredibly hot even when not basing hard

Q
Is this a marine speaker? It's listed as one on the MTX website but it's a little confusing.

A
Negative. This speaker would not hold up to a marine environment.

is self contained and somewhat weather resistant, I have mine in Jeep Wrangler and has gotten wet before and had no issues.
joe  Apr 04, 2016
A
I don't think so. I bought it to put in the back of my wrangler
craig  Apr 04, 2016
Q
Is it okay for this sub to be laid on its back with the woofer facing up?

A
Well if you want to direct the sound towards the car rood then go4it else, to prevent overheating AND not take too much space then leave it upright. Good Luck!
anthony  May 26, 2016
A
I would have to say no because of the amp mounted in the back would not have proper air flow around it.
eric  Jan 01, 2016
A
Probably not a good idea since the hookups are on that side.
craig  Dec 31, 2015
A
my dad has his plate upside down it tends to overheat and shut down. The cooling fins are located in the back for the amp.
