Waterproof foam baffles from XTC fit behind speakers to keep them clean and dry. They compress easily to fit the installation, and form a mounting seal that can reduce panel vibration. Use these speaker baffles along with a Dynamat kit when you install your new speakers, and you'll enjoy improved sound and performance.

These baffles will protect your speakers. In many applications we recommend that you cut a hole in the bottom of the baffle, or remove the entire bottom of the baffle, to maintain good bass response while still protecting your speaker from dirt and water damage. Call one of our Advisors if you have questions — they'll be happy to share their expertise with you.

Features

Product Overview: These acoustic baffles are designed to be placed behind car speakers to protect the speaker from moisture and dirt which can damage speaker components. Along with providing a sealed chamber, they also form a mounting seal between the speaker and the mounting surface to eliminate panel to frame resonance. Baffles will improve door acoustics by reducing road noise and vibrations transferred to the back of the speaker cone. The baffles are pliable and can be compressed to fit most applications.

Slimline did not clear magnet assembly

Written By Danny, Vancouver, WA on Saturday, September 20, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these inexpensive baffles with the intention of using them for a rear panel mount install of an older set of Infinity 32cf speakers into a VW Cabriolet. When I ordered, I waffled back and forth between regular and slimline depth, knowing the larger magnet assembly may be a tough fit. Bottom line is- the slimline does not clear the magnet. I would return them, but for $7, I would rather not hassle Crutchfield. (I know they would make it right, but since the margin on these is so slim- I'll pass.)

Rating based on product quality.

Pros: Non resonant, water-resistant baffle. High density foam appears durable enough for long term

Cons: Slim line baffle does not fit 3.5" Infinity Kappa.

Shallow foam baffles

Written By jb, 50th State on Tuesday, September 16, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Simple molded foam, flexible baffle.

Pros: Seals the rear of the speaker, flexible and waterproof.

Cons: Wish it had an adhesive mounting surface. Also the circumferance should be a little larger as there is no room for the speaker terminals.

It's OK

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far, there is an improvement in sound quality. It does what it's suppose to do. That is to damping reverberation in the sheet metal. It also prevents sound from moving to unwanted areas and reduces road noise and vibrations that are transferred to the back of the speaker cone.

Pros: An improvement in speaker performance.

Cons: Little or no information on what it actually does and how best to use them.

Simple and Effective

Easy to fit and install. Perfect for my custom mounted center speakers in my dash

Pros: protects the speaker while fitting nice and snug

Cons: could be a tad too deep for shallow mounting spots

XTC 3-1/2" Speaker Baffles - solved my problem

Written By 99SAAB9-3, Evergreen, CO on Friday, March 30, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My dashboard speakers were vibrating or were causing vibration in my dash. When I installed new dash speakers I added these baffles. I don't know if it was the new speakers or the baffles, but the problem is gone.
