For a professional radio announcer, the KOSS Pro4aa headphones are the industry standard. When I began my career in 1984, I noticed that every announcer had a pair of these headphones. That is because of how they work. They have excellent frequency response. They have great clarity even at high volume. They are durable enough to handle all of the on and off action they get during an air shift. They are comfortable enough to be worn for extended air shifts, 6 hours on air, plus 2 more hours doing commercial production. And the keep the noise out and the volume in.

There are two things you want to happen when you turn on that microphone: out to stay out, and in to stay in. When you talk, you want to hear what is being broadcast or recorded, not your voice in the room. The KOSS Pro4aa headphones practically eliminate you hearing all the outside noise, including your own voice. They also keep what you are hearing in, by totally enclosing your ears, to prevent feedback. I have tried other headphones that I had at home, and had some accidental feedback. That can be painful to you, and to your listeners.

Bonus: there is a knob on the side that I have used in the past to mount a boom mic for live applications. (Shure SM10A) I use expensive studio mics now, but for sports broadcasters or announcers at live events, it is a nice feature.

Bottom line, to get clear content in the studio at the maximum level without noise or feedback, go with the Koss Pro4aa professional headphones.

Pros: can handle high level of audio eliminate external sound/noise closed ear design prevents feedback comfortable adjustable headband durable replaceable ear cushions long cable provides mobility for announcer to move freely

Cons: no color choice

The headphones are really great sounding, a very wide spectrum of sound. When I used a phono jack extension I encountered lots of static and poor sound quality. I solved this by using s 1/6" rubber "O" ring on the base of the headphone phonojack, connected it to the extension cord and it works perfectly, great sound.

Wow, and not broke in yet!

Wow, these headphones sound incredible and I just received them. I hear it takes about 30 hours to break them in, and then they really sound good. Very articulate from the deepest bass all the way up to the highest treble. Very neutral, no coloration at all, no overtones, just pure clean sound. They do take a bit of a signal at 250 ohms but thats why they can handle what you give em and sound incredible without being instantly loud. If you are buying them, you must know they are quite heavy, not your walk around headphones. But they are built like a tank and don't feel cheap, although I have heard that the older version was even more solid. You hear every little detail in the music and mix. In my opinion they are well worth price. Awsome service from Crutchfield, as ususal.

Pros: very articulate, flat no coloration, awsome frequency response, extremely solid

Cons: a bit heavy for very long wearing periods
