The backup cam just for you

Designed specifically for select 2014-up Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles, this Crux RVCCH-75CC backup camera system allows you to integrate backup video into your factory radio. The package includes the CH-75C backup camera, an interface and harness that connect to the factory radio, and a power/signal cable that you'll route from the camera to the front of your car.

Once installed, you'll see a generous, well-lit picture of what's behind you, with a 170-degree wide view and video capture down to 0.2 Lux for night driving. Crux also gives you the option to enable on-screen parking assist lines so you can gauge distance more easily.

NOTE: The Crux RVCCH-75CC backup camera system is compatible with the Uconnect radio with 8.4" screen and the Uconnect radio with 5" screen. This system does not work with the Uconnect radio with 4.3" screen and 4-button/2 knob interface.

Installing this camera yourself? Here's what you should know.

What does it do? Unless otherwise noted, a backup camera is only intended for use backing up your vehicle. (If you require a front-view or constant rear-view camera, check for that capability.)

What tools and supplies will I need? A panel tool, a wire cutter/stripper, a soldering iron, and a rosin-core solder with heat shrink tubing are recommended, along with whatever tools are needed to remove the radio from the dash.

How much wiring is required? Wiring instructions vary from camera to camera. Some cameras have power wiring that can only be connected near the radio. Others let you power the camera at compatible reverse lights. In all cases, the camera must be wired for power and ground, the camera's video output must be connected to the radio/monitor, and the radio/monitor must be connected to a reverse trigger in your vehicle. Some radio replacement interfaces supply a reverse trigger wire for the radio -- using that wire to power your camera will damage the interface.

Will the included video cable be long enough? You'll need to route the camera's video cable from its mounting location outside your vehicle into your vehicle's cabin and all the way to the screen in the dash. This often requires drilling a small hole in your vehicle or filing some metal and or plastic. You'll also need to estimate the length of cable needed to run from the camera to the dash, which will not be a straight shot. Each camera's cable length is listed.

Note: A rear-view camera provides an additional view when reversing your vehicle. It is intended to be used in conjuction with your rear- and side-view mirrors to give a fuller picture of what's behind you. It is not intended as a replacement for your mirrors.

Product Research

Features

Sightline Series Rear-View Camera System: The Sightline series RVCCH-75C rear-view camera system by Crux has been specifically designed for select 2014-2017 Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep vehicles that are equipped with a U-Connect factory radio. Now you can use your vehicle's factory radio to see what's behind you when backing up. The RVCCH-75C comes with an interface module and the necessary harnesses and cables to connect the rear-view camera to your vehicle's factory system.

Note: The RVCCH75-C rear-view camera is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear-view camera when backing-up. In addition to using the rear-view camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

Vehicle Compatibility: The Sightline series RVCCH-75C rear-view camera system is compatible with the following 2014-2017 Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep vehicles that feature a U-Connect factory radio with a 8.4" or 5" screen.

Make Model Year
Chrysler 300 2016-2016
Dodge Challenger 2013-2017
Charger 2015-2016
Durango 2014-2017
Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014-2017

Notes:

  • Will not work with vehicles that have heated seats or heated steering wheel.
  • Will Not work with Uconnect radio's that come with factory CarPlay or Android Auto.
  • 2015 Chrysler 300 must not have a separate CD slot.

Automatic Rear-View Switching: The RVCCH-75C features automatic rear-view switching. This means that when you place your vehicle in reverse gear, your factory radio's monitor will automatically switch over to the rear-view camera so you can see what's behind you immediately. Rear-viewing switching is built into the module so you don't have to hardwire a connection.

Park Assist Lines: The rear-view camera provides parking assist lines on the screen of your vehicle's in-dash factory radio. These parking lines are there to assist you when backing up into a parking space. There are two vertical lines which help you judge the left and right edges of the parking space and your vehicle. There are also 3 color-coded horizontal lines that are used to distinguish how close you are getting to the end of the parking spot - Yellow (Clear), Purple (Getting Close), Red (Very Close).

Note: You can turn off the parking assist lines by connecting the two thin white wires of the back-up camera cable.

Mounting Options: The rear-view camera mounts to your vehicle's rear exterior panel using the supplied mounting screws. A small hole will need to be drilled to route the cables and wires through to the interior of the vehicle. There is also a self-adhesive double-side weather strip which mounts between the vehicle and the camera to protect against any water leaks.

Power/Ground & Signal Connections: The rear-view camera features an attached 24' power/signal cable which plugs into the included vehicle harness' 7' composite video cable. The vehicle harness plugs into the RCVCCH-75C's interface module and your vehicle's factory radio. There are also power and ground wires on the included 24' power/signal cable and the included vehicle harness that will need to be hardwired together.

Q
How can I purchase the CCD camera only since my CCD camera of RVCCH-75CC was damaged?

Greetings Ahmad, and thank you for your question. Crutchfield does not sell replacement parts for the Crux camera systems. You may be able to purchase just the camera direct from Crux. Try giving them a call at 855-822-1348. If they cannot, they might know who might sell their parts.

Q
what equipment is needed in order to install this? I'm seeing that I may have to drill holes and I do not see this in the instructions...

A
You would potentially need a drill to make a new hole and maybe a wire worm to route the cables from the camera location to the back of the monitor. If you want to make sure you have a complete cart before you order you can connect with one of our Product Advisors here: https://bit.ly/2QNxGQB

Q
If this is installed in a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with heated seats and a heated steering wheel, do you lose the ability to use both the heated seats and heated steering wheel after the system is installed to have the backup camera ability?
lawrence  May 23, 2018

A
The ability to retain factory controls with aftermarket receivers will be determined by the receiver you are using and the vehicle you have. For full information on this type of integration (including the parts you will need) please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
