The backup cam just for you

Designed specifically for select 2009-12 Dodge and Ram vehicles, this Crux RVCCH-75RC rear-view camera system allows you to integrate backup video into your factory radio. The package includes the CH-75R rear-view camera and tailgate handle frame, an interface and harness that connect to the factory radio, and a power/signal cable that you'll route from the camera to the front of your car.

Once installed, you'll see a generous, well-lit picture of what's behind you, with a 170-degree wide view and video capture down to 0.2 Lux for night driving. Crux also gives you the option to enable on-screen parking assist lines so you can gauge distance more easily.

Installing this camera yourself? Here's what you should know.

What does it do? Unless otherwise noted, a backup camera is only intended for use backing up your vehicle. (If you require a front-view or constant rear-view camera, check for that capability.)

What tools and supplies will I need? A panel tool, a wire cutter/stripper, a soldering iron, and a rosin-core solder with heat shrink tubing are recommended, along with whatever tools are needed to remove the radio from the dash.

How much wiring is required? Wiring instructions vary from camera to camera. Some cameras have power wiring that can only be connected near the radio. Others let you power the camera at compatible reverse lights. In all cases, the camera must be wired for power and ground, the camera's video output must be connected to the radio/monitor, and the radio/monitor must be connected to a reverse trigger in your vehicle. Some radio replacement interfaces supply a reverse trigger wire for the radio -- using that wire to power your camera will damage the interface.

Will the included video cable be long enough? You'll need to route the camera's video cable from its mounting location outside your vehicle into your vehicle's cabin and all the way to the screen in the dash. This often requires drilling a small hole in your vehicle or filing some metal and or plastic. You'll also need to estimate the length of cable needed to run from the camera to the dash, which will not be a straight shot. Each camera's cable length is listed.

Note: A rear-view camera provides an additional view when reversing your vehicle. It is intended to be used in conjuction with your rear- and side-view mirrors to give a fuller picture of what's behind you. It is not intended as a replacement for your mirrors.

Product Research

Features

Sightline Series Rear-View Camera System: The Sightline series RVCCH-75RC rear-view camera system by Crux has been specifically designed for select Dodge Ram trucks that are equipped with a MYGIG factory radio. Now you can use your vehicle's factory radio to see what's behind you when backing up. The RVCCH-75RC comes with an interface module and the necessary harnesses and cables to connect the rear-view camera to your vehicle's factory system.

Note: The RVCCH-75RC rear-view camera system is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear-view camera when backing-up. In addition to using the rear-view camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

Vehicle Compatibility: The Sightline series RVCCH-75RC rear-view camera system is compatible with the following Dodge Ram trucks that feature a MYGIG-style factory radio (as of 8/28/14).

Make Model Year
Dodge Ram 2009-2012
Note: Not compatible with vehicles equipped with a manual transmission.

Automatic Rear-View Switching: The RVCCH-75RC features automatic rear-view switching. This means that when you place your vehicle in reverse gear, your factory radio's monitor will automatically switch over to the rear-view camera so you can see what's behind you immediately.

Park Assist Lines: The rear-view camera provides parking assist lines on the screen of your vehicle's in-dash factory radio. These parking lines are there to assist you when backing up into a parking space. There are two vertical lines which help you judge the left and right edges of the parking space and your vehicle. There are also 3 color-coded horizontal lines that are used to distinguish how close you are getting to the end of the parking spot - Yellow (Clear), Purple (Getting Close), Red (Very Close).

AV Input/Output: The RVCCH-75RC also provides composite video/stereo RCA input and output for your vehicle's MYGIG system.

Replacement Handle Assembly: The RVCCH-75RC's rear-view camera is flush mounted in the included bracket/handle assembly. This custom-designed mounting bracket and handle assembly replaces the factory handle of your truck's tailgate. First you will need to remove the factory handle from the tailgate and then install the bracket/handle assembly in place of it. You'll also need to drill a 18.5mm (5/8") hole behind the rear-view camera in order to route the wires and cables.

Power/Ground & Signal Connections: The rear-view camera features an attached 4' power/signal cable which attaches to the included 26' composite video cable. The composite video cable plugs into the included vehicle T-harness with the A/V inputs & outupts. A 10' cable cable from the camera connection features bare-ended Red, Green, and Black wires. A second T-harness includes an 8-pin connector that plugs into the control module.

Customer Q&A

4 questions already asked

Q
Will this camera work on a manual transmission, with an aftermarket head unit?
adam  Oct 28, 2021
1 answer
A
This unit is designed specifically to work with the factory system. If you have an aftermarket receiver compatible with a backup camera, you would be better off purchasing a backup camera separately, would be much cheaper as well.

Q
Base model truck, upgrading to Pioneer DMH-2660NEX. Will this product work with the new stereo?
eddye06  Dec 09, 2020
1 answer
A
Short answer is yes, it uses rca output for the video and just power and ground to power the camera. You will get a lot of stuff you don't need that this includes to hook into a factory radio.
