JVC's ultimate Super VHS deck delivers images so sharp, and colors so rich, you'll be hard pressed to distinguish between recorded programs and "live" television. And thanks to Super VHS ET technology, you can even make S-VHS recordings using high-grade standard VHS tapes! You'll also love the HR-S9800's full array of professional-style editing features, including a flying erase head, insert editing, and audio dubbing.
This deck makes use of JVC's most advanced DigiPure circuitry, with time base correction to remove jitter from the video signal, and a digital comb filter to fight dot crawl. Armed with a massive 4MB frame memory, this circuitry delivers crisp image edges and clear color separation without bleeding. And if your antenna or cable doesn't always deliver a flawless picture, the Ghost Reduction Tuner may provide some improvement for recording and viewing.
The HR-S9800's Video Navigation System is sure to please video archivists it's an internal memory unit that stores the titles, dates, and tape locations of approximately 2,000 individual programs! The system assigns a number to each of your cassettes, which you mark on the tapes themselves. Then, when you want to find a particular show, just browse through the program memory menu. Once you've found the show, the VCR prompts you which tape to insert. It even remembers where on the tape the program begins, fast-forwards or rewinds to that point, and begins play!
The TimeScan feature is a time-saver of another sort, providing distortion-free playback at up to seven times normal playback speed. Digital audio memory keeps the sound clear and intelligible at double- and in some cases triple-speed. It's a great way to catch up on news or talk shows in half the time, or less! And when a scene merits intense scrutiny, Pro-Slo playback provides professional-quality forward and reverse slow motion effects.
For a double dose of convenience and frame-accurate precision, JVC's Pro-Touch jog/shuttle dial is included both on the unit and the remote.
