Inputs and Outputs
Sound Modes: This
system has 3 surround modes and 3 Sound Effect Amplifier modes, allowing you to
adjust the quality of sound depending on the source you are using. You can
select from the following surround modes: D.Club (increases resonance and bass),
Hall (adds depth and brilliance to the sound), or Stadium (adds clarity and
spreads the sound). You can select from the following Sound Effect Amplifier
modes: Rock (boosts the low and high frequencies; good for acoustic music), Pop
(good for vocal music), or Classic (good for classical music). In addition to
the 6 preset modes, the Manual mode allows you to adjust and store up to three
custom EQ curves into memory.
Subwoofer Level Control:
Separate from the main system volume control, you can adjust the subwoofer level
to one of four settings.
Daily Timer: You can
use the daily timer as an alarm clock to wake up to a cassette, a CD, the radio,
or a connected auxiliary component. Once the timer is active, it will operate
everyday at the set time. Note: If the daily timer is set to come on
while the recording timer is operating, the daily timer will not come on at all.
Recording Timer: Once
daily, you can record from a preset radio station to the cassette deck. The
timer allows you to specify a start and stop time. Note: The recording
timer has priority over the daily timer and sleep timer.
Sleep Timer: The sleep timer
switches the system off after a specified amount of time so you can fall asleep
without worrying about the stereo being left on all night. The sleep timer can
be set to 10, 20, 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes. Note: If the recording
timer is set to come on while the sleep timer is operating, the sleep timer will
Overview: This system
has a digital AM/FM Tuner. You can store up to 45 station presets so that you
always have easy access to your favorite stations without having to tune them in
manually each time. The tuner has three tuning modes: Manual, Preset, and Auto
(seek) tuning. If you are listening to an FM station in stereo and the reception
is weak, you can improve the sound quality by switching to Mono. Note: FM
tuning is done in 0.1MHz steps and AM tuning is done in 10 kHz steps.
CD Player: This
system has 3 separate motorized CD trays.
Disc Exchange: You can exchange
two discs while playing a third.
This unit will play prerecorded CDs, finalized CD-R discs and finalized CD-RW
Program Play: Up to
32 tracks can be programmed and played in any order.
Random Play: When
Random Play is selected, the tracks on all loaded CDs are played in random
Repeat Play: You can
select Repeat All, Repeat 1 Disc, or Repeat 1. When Repeat All is selected, the
changer repeats all the tracks on all the loaded discs. When Repeat 1 Disc is
selected, the changer repeats all the tracks on the current disc. When Repeat 1
is selected, the changer repeats the current track. In addition, you can repeat
Program Play and Random Play.
Tray Lock: This
feature allows you to lock the CD trays and prohibit discs from being ejected.
Dual Auto-Reverse Cassette Decks:
In addition to the tuner and three CD trays, this system has dual auto-reverse
Recording: Using a
Type I tape in Deck B, you can record from a CD, a cassette, the radio, or a
connected auxiliary component. Deck A does not have recording capabilities.
Auto Tape EQ: The
cassette decks automatically determine the proper bias setting and allow you to
play Type I, II and IV tapes.
Automatic Music Search (AMS): This
feature rewinds the tape to the beginning of the current track or fast forwards
the tape to the beginning of the next track. It does this by detecting the blank
spaces between the songs.
Play: This feature automatically begins playing
the second tape when the first tape is finished.
CD Direct Recording:
This feature allows you to record a CD to tape by just pushing the CD Rec Start
Auto Edit Recording:
By using Auto Edit Recording, you can record the CD tracks to fit the tape. Auto
Edit Recording makes a program by selecting the CD tracks in numerical order.
However, to prevent the end of the last track on the front side from being cut
off, the last track is selected so as to fit on the remaining tape length. You
can select the following tape lengths: 40, 46, 50, 54, 60, 64, 70, 74, 80, 84 or
Design: The system comes with 3-way, ported speakers that employ
JVC's Bandpass Subwoofer Speaker System technology and GigaTube design. Each
speaker uses a 2" paper cone tweeter, a 3-15/16" poly cone midrange
with a rubber surround, and a 6-5/16" paper cone woofer with a foam
surround. Each cabinet has a top-mounted GigaTube port that connects to a large
acoustic chamber, giving you incredible bass. Each speaker is bi-amped (with 130
watts for the subwoofer, plus 55 watts for the midrange and tweeter) so your
music stays clear when it gets loud.
