They might call it a film school project but you know your whole life has been leading up to this. Let the Canon XF100 take you the rest of the way. It was made to pry open your dreams and bring them to the screen. With top-quality adornments like XLR audio inputs and HDMI video connectivity, this camera won't leave you short, even when the shot is tricky.

Stealthy, like a ninja

It's small and lightweight, so it's versatile to mount. It gets into tight spaces, and with a decent wide angle field of view, it knows how to make the best of them. It shoots rich high-definition video at a variety of frame rates and resolutions, and the industry-standard MPEG-2 codec files import easily into most popular professional editing software packages. You'll have footage that stands up to the manipulation of modern post-production and color correction.

Well-connected and versatile

The XF100 comes with HDMI and component/composite video outputs. Pro-rated audio connections are designed to pair up with the latest in microphone and audio support technology. It can be paired with a second XF100 to create compelling 3-D imagery through its built-in 3D assist feature. Plus, it records infrared video for low or no-light monochrome images. An on-board infrared emitter illuminates the scene in total darkness. The XF100. No compromises in a compact package. Call us when you're famous.

Camera has stunning picture when recording at the highest settings (1080P, 50 Mbs) and properly calibrated. The only slight drawback is the limited zoom (10x). Be warned, this camera is NOT for amateurs, although there is a lot information out there on how to do the settings.

    Great Camcorder

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am no way an expert on camera but I feel very comfortable with this camcorder. This is a nice portable all-rounder camcorder for many kinds of projects...can be used for wedding video, corporate and cultural events, documentary making. Ideal for serious first time small budget film makers. It is lightweight, packed with crucial features, excellent video quality, reasonably priced.

Pros: Compact size, great image quality, multiple recording bit rates, infrared recording, duel compact flash card recording

Cons: Limited zoom, Compact-Flash cards are expensive, small buttons, menu is not intuitive.

    Good camera

Camera in manual mode needs lots of light indoors. Camera image very noisy over 6db gain.

Pros: Outstanding performance in high light

Cons: Video noise in low light
