Features
Mirror Phone Box: Nakamichi's Mirror Phone Box can be used to connect select Android (4.0+) and Apple iOS (6.0+) devices for mirroring and audio/video playback through select Nakamichi in-dash receivers (sold separately). You can listen to stored music and music apps (like Pandora/iHeartRadio), watch stored video and video apps (like Netflix/YouTube), as well as view maps and listen to navigation commands from navigation apps (like Google/Apple) on your smartphone through the NA1550.
- Android OS Connectivity: The Mirror Phone Box includes a MHL 11-pin cable and a MHL 5-pin cable for compatible Android (4.0+) smartphones. The cable gets plugged into your compatible Android smartphone and the MHL port on the Mirror Phone Box; this connection also requires that the Android smartphone be paired with the Nakamichi receiver via Bluetooth. This one cable provides audio/video playback and charging of your Android device, while the Bluetooth connection provides control (via CarMirror app).
- Apple iOS Connectivity: If you have an iPhone 5 or newer with the Lightning connector, you will need Apple's Lightning Digital AV adapter and Lightning-to-USB cable; if you have an older 30-pin iPhone 4/4S, you'll need a 30-pin digital AV adapter and the 30-pin dock cable (all sold separately). In addition, for both types of iPhones, you will need a a mobile-grade HDMI cable (sold separately). The HDMI cable plugs into the Mirror Phone Box's HDMI input for audio/video playback, while the Apple device's USB-connector cable plugs into the Nakammichi receiver's front-panel USB port for charging.
CarMirror App: By also downloading the free GooglePlay CarMirror app onto your compatible Android smartphone, you can control your smartphone by the Nakamichi DVD receiver's touchscreen monitor (including pinch-to-zoom and swipe functions). You'll be able to select from stored music and video files on your smartphone, choose from various downloaded music and movie applications, and enter destinations from downloaded navigation apps; all from the NA1550's touchscreen (parking brake not required). You'll also be able to control all of your Android device's phone functions from the head unit's touchscreen, including Phonebook and Recent Contacts.
Note: Apple iOS devices do not support this application and cannot be controlled from the head unit, so you will have to continue to control your Apple device from its own touchscreen.
