Straight-laced CD receiver

The name Nakamichi may conjure up memories of home stereo gear with a sweet sound. Crutchfield now offers that sweet Nakamichi sound in the form of car stereos. The NA99i CD receiver enables you to enjoy your CDs, USB flash drives, AM/FM stations, and your iPod or iPhone – topped off with simple controls and a single-line display on a detachable faceplate.

Pick a source

The front-panel USB input allows you to connect and charge your iPod® or iPhone®, then access your playlists with the Nakamichi's controls. If you're into your CD collection, you'll enjoy excellent playback of your store-bought and home-burned discs – even ones loaded with MP3 and WMA files. Got a portable player or smartphone you want to listen to? Simply it into the aux input on the receiver's front panel.

Tweak your sound

Nakamichi's punchy amp delivers plenty of power, while a pair of preamp outputs makes it easier to add a powered subwoofer or an external amplifier. The NA99i receiver's wireless remote control lets you crank the volume and switch sources.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Very happy with my Nakamichi unit AGAIN (20yrs ago I owned a great Nakamichi unit in my 1st car). I drive a Ford Ranger and I switched out the 4 (6x8) factory speakers with low end Pioneer 6x8s. With this unit pushing my speakers they sound is so much more clear. I listen to a lot of live music and it seems like I'm hearing this music for the first time, so many sounds my factory speakers couldn't pick up. BIG PHAN!!

Pros: Everything you could want from a unit.

Cons: The same as it was 20yrs ago, the Nakamichi detachable faceplate is a little tricky to remove. Other than that, zero complaints.
