About the Nakamichi NGTD1200.1
The ace of bass
The ace of bass
You'll need an amp to power that new sub, and the Nakamichi NGTD1200.1 mono amplifier will pump up your thump. This stylish amp delivers 800 watts RMS at 2 ohms, and up to 1200 watts RMS at 1 ohm, with a low-pass filter that ensures your sub plays only those low frequencies you want it to. That means clean, pure bass with every song. Dial in up to 12dB of bass boost to give your music some extra muscle.
Premium build
Advanced circuitry in this Class D amplifier ensures you'll get the optimum efficiency for your system by delivering the power you need without taxing your car battery. Nakamichi's attention to detail is evident in the deluxe power terminals and RCA connectors, designed to minimize loss of current and signal. LED power and protect indicators take the guesswork out of troubleshooting so installation goes a little smoother and you're on the road and rockin' a little sooner.

Features
Power Output: The Nakamichi NGTD1200.1 Class D mono amplifier delivers the following power output (RMS Power Output at 14.4 VDC):
- 400 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms
- 800 watts x 1 @ 2 ohms
- 1200 watts x 1 @ 1 ohm
Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuitry for thermal overload and short circuits. The LED on the side of the amp glows red if the amp goes into protection mode.
Design: The NGTD-series amplifiers feature all of the connections and controls on one side. This gives the amp a clean look, and makes it easier to access the controls.
Controls
Crossover: The amp features a 12 dB/octave low pass filter. The crossover point is continuously variable between 40 Hz and 220 Hz. You'll need a small screwdriver to adjust the crossover frequency.
Subsonic Filter: The 12 dB/octave subsonic filter has a continuously variable crossover point, 20-38 Hz. The subsonic filter helps filter out extremely low bass frequencies that may cause distortion. You'll need a small screwdriver to adjust the frequency.
Phase: Depending on the distance between the mid-bass speakers and the subwoofer, it can be desirable to change the phase of the subwoofer to produce a better transition between subwoofer and mid-bass speaker output. A rotary dial allows adjustment of the subwoofer phase from 0° to 180°.
Bass Boost: The NGTD1200.1 has a variable bass boost (0 dB to +18 dB), centered at 45 Hz.
Gain Control: The rotary gain control lets you match the amp's input sensitivity to the output of the source unit. The input sensitivity range is 200mV to 6V. A small screwdriver (not included) is required to set the gain.
Connections
Terminals: The NGTD1200.1 uses gold-plated set-screw terminals for the +12V power, ground, turn-on (remote) lead, and speaker outputs. The set-screws are tightened/loosened with the supplied 3mm Allen wrench.
Power/Ground: The +12V Power and Ground terminals will accept bare wire up to 4 AWG. It is recommended that you use a 4 AWG power wire to the battery, with an in-line 120-amp (minimum) fuse installed no more than 18" from the battery terminal. A 4 AWG ground wire (minimum) should be used, and attached to a metal area close to the amplifier.
Remote Turn-On: The Remote screw terminal will accept bare wire up to 8 AWG. Typically, an 18 AWG turn-on lead is included in an amplifier wiring kit.
Preamp Inputs: The amplifier is equipped with a pair of gold-plated RCA inputs for connecting stereo RCA patch cables from the head unit to the amp.
Preamp Outputs: There is also a pair of gold-plated RCA outputs, so an additional amplifier can easily be connected to the same signal feeding the NGTD1200.1.
Speaker Outputs: The amp features set-screw terminals for connecting two speakers in parallel (they are internally shorted together), making it easy to wire two subs to the mono amp. The terminals will accept bare wire up to 8 AWG. Nakamichi recommends using 12 AWG speaker wire (minimum).

Amp performs really well. Changed subs to Rockford fosgate P3D4-10 and you need a lot of power for them.
