The Panamax PM8-AV shields your home theater system against harmful spikes and power fluctuations. It also filters out the RF (radio frequency) and electromagnetic interference that can degrade your system's performance.

The power protector comes with eight AC outlets, conveniently spaced to allow for bulky transformers. Two sets of coaxial input/output jacks protect your cable, antenna, or digital satellite TV connections. There's also a protected telephone line input/output.

The PM8-AV reacts in less than a nanosecond during a spike, breaking the connection to protect your equipment. The six-foot power cord has a right-angle plug that hugs the wall, for an easy fit behind your audio/video cabinet.

PM8-AV

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

LIVING IN THE LIGHTING CAPITAL OF AMERICA, I KNEW IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO PURCHASE A GOOD SURGE PROTECTOR. SIX YEARS AGO I BOUGHT A PANAMAX, AND AFTER MANY LIGHTING STORMS, MY SONY BRAVIA NEVER GOT DAMAGED. WHEN I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW FLAT PANEL FOR OUR BEDROOM , I PURCHASED ANOTHER PANAMAX PM8-AV FOR THERE. I FIGURED IT DID NOT FAIL ME THE FIRST TIME, SO STICK WITH WHAT WORKS.

Pros: FITS ALL OF MY ELECTRONICS, HAS A GREAT WARRANTY (HOPEFULLY IT WIL NEVER HAVE TO BE USED). PRICE RANGE WAS ABOUT AVERAGE COMPARED TO OTHER SURGE PROTECTORS.

Cons: BACK MOUNTING HOLE , WOULD BE BETTER IF IT WAS A TAB LIKE THE FRONT TWO.

Awesome Product

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very reliable product. There was a storm a while ago and the surge protector did its job. It powered down until the voltage was stable and I was amazed. Thank god I have this product protecting all of my AV gear and I feel confident it won't let me down. Also the picture quality did improve for anybody wondering about that part. Theres warranty on all the gear that you plug in as well.

Pros: Safe and very reliable

Cons: None so far.

Great product, easy set-up. Can't believe the difference it made in the picture
quality on my HDTV! And I feel that my electronics are safe. Plan to purchase
another one.

Ive never heard this. My primary concern is momentary lapses of power and surges. Ive used surge protectors for many years, on a couple of occaisions Ive had a surge protector blown out, but even then it protected my equipment. [ ANDREW J  Dec 28, 2013 ]
I have always used just one. I have had no problems at all. [ MARC  Dec 28, 2013 ]
If you go with a lesser quality power center then maybe you would need two. I use this for a 50" Panasonic plasma, a Yamaha receiver, Marantz CD/DVD, and an Infiniti sub. Nothing but clean, clear power from this unit! Highly recommended. [ ANTHONY J  Dec 27, 2013 ]
