Samsung's UN32H5500 provides the key performance and conveniences of larger TVs in a compact 32" design that fits comfortably in bedrooms, dens and offices. Its 1080p screen is pinpoint-sharp so you won't miss any details.
Built-in Wi-Fi® connects this TV to your home's wireless network so that even when you're engrossed in a movie or favorite show you can stay in touch with the online world.
While some 32" Smart TVs aren't really all that smart, Samsung's UN32H5500 gives you fun ways to enjoy your favorite shows, movies, games and more, on the web and elsewhere. You'll find loads of movies and TV shows from reliable sources like Netflix® and Hulu Plus™, and more. And Samsung's latest AllShare™ networking feature makes it easy to tap your content whether it's on a PC or in the cloud.
Web functions are powered by Samsung's quad core processor, so you can expect fluid browsing and content streaming, and rapid switching between apps. There's also a screen mirroring feature that turns your compatible smartphone, tablet or computer into a second TV screen. Whatever is playing on your TV — Netflix, or live TV — is streamed via Wi-Fi to your device as well. You can watch movies, shows and sports all around the house, and you won't miss a moment.
Reason #1: Awesome picture quality. The LED backlights in these higher-end LCD TVs can give you better picture contrast and more lifelike colors than sets with typical fluorescent backlighting. Reason #2: They're more energy-efficient than plasma or regular LCD TVs, helping you lower your monthly electric bill and helping the environment.
After receiving this 32"set and setting it up , all went until I counldn't get my old Bose surround /DVD player hooked up and working . After a couple of calls to Crutchfield and getting the Tech support it's all working and yes it's a lot better picture in 1080than my old 8 year old Panasonic 32". These Tech support people are so nice and helpful , great job . I used Crutchfield once some 10 years ago , and they still have the same great Tech support . Thanks again Marshall. Pros: Great Picture and over all happy , would tell anybody to check out this company !
Cons: None that I can think of , ??
New to smart tv technology. So far, so good.
Great Picture quality, good sound, easy to install (with good on-screen directions).
Pros: Delivered on time in good condition. Good value.
This product was purchased as a gift for someone who needed a smart TV for a small space, primarily used by children. The picture is great. Access to online services is simple enough for an 8-year old, which provides a world of entertainment when parents want their children to have some screen time. The convenience of a smart TV is far superior to broadcast TV or even some of the on-demand features of CATV providers.
Pros: Picture quality and ease of using the Smart TV options.
Cons: Screen size is best for a small space.
First, I was very happy with the service and delivery from Crutchfield. I have since bought other items based on my experience buying the Samsung TV. Second, the TV is beautiful with a nice bright picture. The sound is better than expected since TV's of this size tend to have smaller speakers.
Pros: Nice clear bright picture Many ways of input to the TV Remote is intuitive TV is very light
I love this TV. I set it up very quickly and it's easy to use. They call it a SMART set and surely is smart. Wifi connection brings a whole lot more to the TV. Extremely sharp image. I would defiantly recommend it.
Pros: Great quality picture. Easy set up. Easy menu structure.
Cons: When using external speakers, the sound cannot be muted with the remote. Or improve the built in speaker.
Great unit - easy to set up - Highly recommend
Pros: slim lines, lite weight - great picture
Love my new TV
Pros: Beautiful picture Easy setup
Highest rating/praise. I did a reasonable amount of looking for a smaller smart TV for our bedroom. After looking at many reviews I decided on the Samsung UNH325500. It came in 2 days, was a breeze to set up and use, and after a few clicks we had both our Netflix and Amazon Video apps up and running. Picture and sound are fine. Completely satisfied with this purchase.
Pros: Arrived quickly, easy set up, appreciate the tech support if I do need it.
Cons: None that I am aware of.
This is a great TV. Easy to set up. This replaced a 5 year old flat screen and can't get over how much lighter the new one is. Picture quality is great and sound is very good for small speakers. Crutchfield shipping is great. Ordered the set on a Monday afternoon and it arrived the following Tuesday afternoon.
Pros: Great picture and sound. Easy to install. Light weight
Cons: Only has one set of composite inputs. We have an old DVD player and very old VCR so had to order an A/B set up.
Great picture. I'm still exploring the bells and whistles. Lots and lots of goodies to discover here. All in all, operation if fairly intuitive.
Pros: Great picture
Cons: A little complicated at first.
For the price, this is a great little tv. I've had it a few weeks now, and would say, out of the box, the picture is pretty cool(blue). I haven't quite got it where I want it yet, but the picture is good nonetheless. Sound is always a concern with a tv with such a small bevel, but I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. You'd be hard pressed to find a better bang for your buck tv.
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Very cool picture out of the box. Needs quite a bit of tweeking to get just right.
I absoutely love Samsung products and this TV was no exception. It remains a great value. I would not hesitate to but to buy this product again for another room nor would I hesitate to recommend to family and friends. The TV was highly recommended by a magazine for consumers.
Pros: Great value, picture quality is great and was very e.a.s.y to install. From price to installation the product was - consumer friendly.
Excellent TV and very well priced. Great picture quality and the Smart features fit well with my intended application. Just add a Zvox sound base to elevate the unit and the audio really comes alive.
Pros: Picture quality, plenty of inputs and audio outputs. Nicest feature is that it also controls my cable set top box through a provided IR link and thus eliminates another hand held remote! WiFi enabled with easy setup.
Cons: None yet.
Great picture. Quick setup. Great price. Fast shipping. Crutchfield never disappoints me.
Pros: Light, thin, great picture.
Cons: None so far.
Love it. Super sharp pic, perfect size for office, sets on my desk. Smart function is very handy. No complaints. Buy one!
Just simply.......100% happy with the Samsung TV. Shipped very quickly.....packed wonderfully. Couldn't be happier!
Pros: Beautiful picture.....easy to set up.......no problems at all!
Cons: None yet....and don't foresee any....... Sound might be a little better, but for Master Bedroom use it suits us fine!
Picture is spectacular, menu easy to use!! Great price point!
Pros: Quality of picture, price, ease of use.
Cons: Sound as a standalone is substandard
We wanted a smart tv for our bedroom at the foot of the bed. We did not want to spend a great deal on the unit. This Samsung has a very nice picture, is thin and light so easy to place. Have not yet had the opportunity to connect to the internet. We actually are using in our living room for now and it is acceptable for that location.
Not the best picture. Found it difficult to calibrate. Had more fuzzy channels than clear HD ones. Pay a few more bucks and upgrade. Overall just okay.
Cons: picture not clear
The TV quality is fine--no complaints. My evaluation would be 5 stars except for one new requirement that Samsung has put in the set up: they expect you to sign away any rights to privacy that a normal person could expect. I took the time to read the privacy agreement(s) that they present on screen during the set up process--I'm sure that they expect people to choose the least annoying path and check the box saying "I agree to everything". I strongly advise against checking this box without looking at what they ask. If you check the box, you give Samsung permission to monitor your use of the TV and the SmartHub, capturing your personal information that they can then sell to advertisers to tailor advertising to each user. Maybe most people shrug their shoulders and accept that this is the price we pay for a modern life connected to the internet, but I resist data mining whenever I can. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ACCEPT THE SAMSUNG PRIVACY AGREEMENT. If you do not check the Agree box and continue on, they will ask at the end if you want to deny Samsung the right to access your information. None of this is obvious at the start of the process. I have bought three Samsung TVs in the last year, but this is the first to set up that required me to sign away my right to privacy. Shame on Samsung. This is deplorable. This will be the last Samsung product that I buy for quite a long time.
Pros: Excellent TV so far.
Cons: Samsung expects you to sign away your privacy rights.
Overall good product.
Pros: Good display, easy basic setup
Cons: Volume range could be increased
This tv is everything it is advertised as. I like the internet features and ability for using Skypes. very sharp picture. Would recommend Samsung to anyone looking for a very dependable tv. This is our 5th Samsung we have purchased and they all continue to be problem free.
Pros: Easy installation and setup and dependability.
Cons: could have more of a stereo speaker system.
Picked up this TV for a spare bedroom, and picked the Samsung because I like the Time Warner Cable app, which saves me from renting another set top box. I have a Samsung UN55F6400, and I'm happy with the picture quality and the TWC app. However, the TWC app is not supported on this newer 32" model. I called Samsung support and they confirmed it. They could not tell me if it ever will be supported. It's also not supported on the more expensive UN32H6350 model. Seems the Apps menu isn't the same either, and I didn't care much for it. The TV is going back for a refund.
Pros: IQ looked ok, but since the TV did not meet my app requirement, I didn't spend any time judging much else.
Cons: Incomplete app support (at this time? Have not found anyone who can answer for sure).

LED Edge-Lighting: Samsung's LED Edge-Lighting technology allows for a high dynamic contrast ratio and ultra-sharp blacks by allowing multiple LEDs to turn on an off automatically based on the image. LED Edge-Lighting also provides more natural color representation and deep reds and greens, because Samsung uses white LEDs that produce 105% of the broadcast color gamut. The television's white LEDs are arranged along the left and right edges of the screen and a proprietary light guide is used to focus its luminance inwards towards the middle of the screen for a more uniform brightness. Overall, this LED Backlight system produces contrast with stronger blacks and whites, and greater subtlety of every gradation in between.
Clear Motion Rate 120: Clear Motion Rate (CMR) is Samsung's more comprehensive and accurate measure for how well the LED-LCD TV can display fast-moving images. Previously, motion clarity was expressed simply by the refresh rate, measured in Hz. CMR, however, takes into account all three factors that contribute to motion clarity: panel refresh rate (60Hz), image processor speed and backlight technology. CMR is measured by determining the thinnest line a TV can display in a moving image. The thinner the line, the higher the CMR rating, and the clearer the picture you'll enjoy on the screen.
Wide Color Enhancer Plus + Motion Lighting: With Wide Color Enhancer Plus, you'll witness a wider spectrum of colors on the TV screen, just like the director intended. You'll enjoy enriched colors while watching your favorite movies, and shows, even if it's older, non-HD content. The TV automatically adjust the brightness of the screen in response to the brightness of the room. In bright light, the screen brightens. In dim light, the screen dims.
1080p Resolution: The LED-LCD television displays all inputs at a resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080). The television's HDMI and component video inputs will accept 1080p (24/60Hz), 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i video signals.
Note: The TV has built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and Digital Cable (QAM) tuners with an RF-coaxial input, so you don't need a separate set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted Digital Cable signals.
Picture Control: You can make the following adjustments for an optimum picture.
Note: You can adjust and store Picture Settings for each external device connected to the TV or apply the settings to all inputs and sources.
Film & Game Modes: The television provides Film & Game modes.
PIP (Picture-in-Picture): You can watch the TV's tuner and one external video source (component/HDMI) simultaneously). The component/HDMI source will be displayed as the main picture, while the TV channel will be displayed in a sub-screen, while which can be moved to each corner of the television's screen. You can switch the audio between the main screen and sub-screen.
DTS Premium Sound: The Samsung LED-LCD TV employs DTS Studio Sound processing with DTS TruSurround and DTS TruDialog which will decode DTS-encoded content, such as TV programming, Blu-ray movies, and streaming media, as well as processes stereo content to deliver an optimized virtual surround sound experience with enhanced bass response, clear dialog, and consistent volume levels through the TV speakers.
Note: The speakers of this TV provide different sound images according to how you position the television. You can select between "Wall-Mount" or "Stand" to provide the best sound quality based on the television's placement.
5-Band EQ + Sound Modes: You can manually adjusts the TV's built-in 5-band EQ (100 Hz, 300 Hz, 1 kHz, 3 kHz, and 10 kHz) for a more customized sound; or simply choose from the following Preset Sound Modes:
Audio Settings: The Samsung TV offers a variety of audio adjustments to meet your listening needs.
Audio Outputs: The Samsung LED-LCD television provides an analog and digital audio output.
ARC (Audio Return Channel): The Audio Return Channel in HDMI 1.4 enables a TV, via a single HDMI cable, to send audio data "upstream" to an A/V receiver; increasing user flexibility and eliminating the need for any separate S/PDIF audio connection. This feature allows audio to be sent from the television to your A/V receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio/video to the television. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to the TV. ARC allows audio from the TV tuner, Network connection, inserted USB device, HDMI inputs, or any analog connected device to be heard through your ARC compatible AV receiver via the television's HDMI ARC input. The audio from the TV's tuner, network connection, and USB port can pass as Dolby Digital or 2ch PCM. HDMI and analog connected devices will be output as 2ch PCM only.
Note: Both the television and the receiver must support ARC for this function to work properly. When connecting an A/V receiver that is compatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), connect it to the TV's HDMI 2 input. If connecting a system that is incompatible Audio Return Channel (ARC), an additional audio connection via Digital Audio Out (Optical) is necessary.
Samsung's Quad Core Processor: Samsung's Quad Core processing speeds allow you to perform multiple tasks at the same time, such as using an app while downloading another one. It also enables extremely faster web browsing and application access. Quad Core eliminates lag to give you a fluid browsing experience. It enables you to switch between apps, stream content, and multi-task faster. This extra power also provides faster page refreshing
Network Connection (wired/wireless): You can set up the Samsung H5500 series LED-LCD TV so that it can access your home network and online Samsung Apps through your local area network (LAN) using a wired (RJ-45 Ethernet) or wireless connection (built-in WiFi). You can setup a wired network connection automatically or manually. You can setup the wireless network connection using these four methods; Automatic, Manual, WPS (PBC), or WPS (PIN). The TV's built-in WiFi supports IEEE 802.11A/B/G/N wireless LAN networks and WEP (open/shared), WPA-PSK (TKIP/AES), or WPA2-PSK network security.
Note: Samsung recommends a network speed of 10Mbps or above.
WiFi Direct: When using WiFi Direct, you can connect directly with other devices without using a wireless router. You'll be able to wirelessly transfer personal content (such as photos & videos) to the Samsung LED-LCD TV without connecting to your home network. WiFi Direct completely bypasses your WiFi access point/router, so it's easy to set up. Streaming of copy-protected content and other certain formats are not supported.
Smart Apps: Once you have connected the Samsung TV to your home network, you gain access to Smart Apps. Smart Apps lets you download for pay or free-of-charge applications and services to the Samsung H5500 series LED-LCD TV. You can enjoy a variety of content from various downloaded applications; such as videos, music, photos, games, and news. I don't know I never tried it before maybe you could call them and find out. [ EDWARD R Sep 17, 2014 ]
This tv provides great DLNA support so you can stream most video formats (divx/xvid/aac/mkv, etc) living on a server/desktop somewhere on your wifi network. You can also easily plug in USB-based storage to accomplish the same thing. However, I do not think you can wirelessly stream your LIVE computer display with the current feature set/firmware. You can never rule out Samsung possibly adding that in the future though... Cheers [ DAMIAN Sep 16, 2014 ]
I have mine connected directly to my router wirelessly. I connected it to the cable box via a HDMI. The TV connects very well, never had a problem with it connecting wirelessly. Great picture, no buffering when watching Netflix. If you are trying to watch TV or movies through your computer. I think that you will have to run a cable from your computer to your TV. But you should be able to connect directly to the router. [ Emily Sep 16, 2014 ]
Yes, I am not sure about Bluetooth, but if you have a wireless network in your home and you go through the SmartHub setup procedure on the TV, relatively easy, any item on your network, other P.C.s, network hard drive storage devices etc. can be streamed and or viewed from. You must have network, folder and file sharing enabled on those devices however. After you do the set up and devises have sharing enabled, they will show up on your television under inputs that you can select from, HDMI 1, HDMI2, HDMI 3, etc. These other sources will be listed there as well. Hope this helps. Mark [ MARK R Sep 16, 2014 ]
Bobby, I am not good at tech and someone set my TV up for me. I never used the hdmi I purchased because I thought I might need it. I use a wireless mouse with my laptop keyboard and I used it to connect Pandora on my TV. I am.able to view Facebook and YouTube and netflix , but I prefer my laptop over the TV screen for computer work. I regret not getting a bigger screen because I have a hard time reading the screen if in bed. I have a 32 inch. Have not set up universal remote. Would need help to do it. I love the TV however. Each night I set the timer to go off as I sleep. I am sure I may not have answered your question because I panic easily with equipment and therefore endlessly confuse my 70 year old brain. Good luck!! [ donnac Sep 16, 2014 ]
Thanks for the replys. Let me narrow my question. I want to use the TV as a monitor for desktop or laptop. Can I use TV wirelessly with access to by desktop and function as if connected via HDMI? [ bobby Sep 16, 2014 ]
I easily connected my television to my wireless network without any problems. However, I haven't done much with the features of the television with respect to the connection. I pretty much use it only as a television. [ ALAN Sep 16, 2014 ]
I have mine connected to my Apple on wifi. Setup was simple and easy. [ CRAIG E Sep 16, 2014 ]
i could not successfully get tv to connect with my network and i connected with anetwork cable . it is connected to cable box via hdmi. i am very satisfied with this product . [ james Sep 16, 2014 ]
The stand is very sturdy, but not "industrial strength". Kids should not be allowed to pull on the set. You can access YouTube, Netflix and many other online sources (broadband is highly recommended). Yes the TV's size is measured diagonally. Good luck. [ ROD Apr 07, 2014 ]
Think I am now ready to order Thanks for the quick reply! [ donnac Mar 28, 2014 ]
The stand is no less sturdy than several other televisions I've had. It's a little "wobbly" but not unstable. If one isn't touching or moving it, there's nothing wrong with it. You can access Youtube, and it is just about 31" diagonally, no different than any others that are rated as "32 inch" screens. [ ALAN Mar 28, 2014 ]
