Samsung's H7150 series belongs at the top of the list for those looking for high performance and a flat screen — as opposed to a curved screen. The visually stunning UN55H7150 sports an ultra-slim bezel that creates a virtually edgeless look that makes the picture seem even larger. That and the "sled-style" stand instantly grab your attention, but what happens on-screen when you power it up is even more interesting.
The UN55H7150's LED backlight employs Samsung's Micro Dimming Pro technology to produce a more accurate picture. The TV divides the image into multiple areas and applies the correct contrast levels to each area. You'll see a wide range of light levels from bright white to deep black, as well as a nearly infinite number of shades in between. The LED backlight is a high-speed scanning design, which works along with the 240Hz screen refresh rate to virtually eliminate motion blur.
Get ready for a vivid, razor-sharp picture in 2D or 3D. Just slip on a pair of the included glasses to enjoy a deeper view, and not just with true 3D video sources — switch on the TV's 2D-to-3D conversion for added depth with regular 2D video. And even if 3D doesn't appeal to you right now, this set still deserves consideration if picture quality is your number one priority. It's that good.
The UN55H7150 is smarter than the average Smart TV thanks to its speedy quad-core processor. A new Multi-Link feature lets you place live TV side-by-side with other apps, like YouTube™ or a web browser — you can browse the web without having to interrupt what you're watching. The Dual Screen feature splits the screen into dual windows so you can view two sources at once.
There's a cool screen mirroring feature that turns your compatible smartphone or tablet into a second TV. Whatever appears on the TV screen is streamed via Wi-Fi to your device. If you need to leave the room — like, maybe to fix a sandwich — you won't have to leave your entertainment behind. It's like a whole-house television system you can hold in your hand.
Reason #1: Awesome picture quality. The LED backlights in these higher-end LCD TVs can give you better picture contrast and more lifelike colors than sets with typical fluorescent backlighting. Reason #2: They're more energy-efficient than plasma or regular LCD TVs, helping you lower your monthly electric bill and helping the environment.
So far so good very satisfied white overall Tv future
Pros: Good product Samsung are the best tv's
I received my Samsung within a week of the order. The installation was problem-free including the upgrade to HD from Comcast. The picture quality on this unit is outstanding and the light weight so welcome as a replacement for a twelve year-old standard TV.
Pros: A great option for a non-techie like me.
Cons: A number of product features are addressed in the manual. It will take some time to get through them so I fully understand what I have. In the meantime the TV already gives us more than what we had with our SD set.
This is a great TV. I'm a huge Samsung fan and they didn't let me down with this product. Would recommend to anyone.
Excellent tv, great 3D picture. Very bright display. Very close to plasma black levels.
Pros: Great picture, 3D, easy to use smart remote.
WOW WHAT A TV, BEST I EVER BOUGHT YOU TALK TO YOUR TV.
Cons: NONE SO FAR.
Easy to setup, great picture. 3d movies look amazing. Very light and thin, looks great on the wall. Apps are easy to use with the Samsung interface.
Pros: Samsung reputation, great picture, easy to use smart apps.
The picture is sharp and precise. It is easy to use. The sound is excellent. We have no need for extra speakers or a sound bar.
Great TV so far. Quick response time and very clear picture. Great for Gaming. Very happy with this purchase so far(~4 weeks).
Pros: Gaming, Sports, and more. Quick response time
Cons: Remote is a bit sensitive and and can be tricky when connected to cable box.
Great TV, great service. Took about 5 minutes to set up and it looks beautiful in my living room. Had to look up some calibration tips online to get the perfect picture because the LEDs can look fake sometimes. Once I got the settings right, everything looks clear and gorgeous without looking like a soap opera or video game. Highly recommend this TV. I have not tried the 3D and have not opened the glasses yet.
Pros: picture quality, easy setup
Cons: need to do take a bit of time to find the ideal settings
I love the picture and performance of the tv. Getting the Smart Apps to play on my sound system seemed impossible.after calls to Samsung and several internet searches I called Crutchfield. In less then 5 minutes Crutchfield looked up my Yamaha AV reciever and walked me through the step by step procedure and I was hooked up. In a world where customer support means talking to someone with an accent I can't understand, Crutchfield hits a home run with me.
Pros: TV picture and basic setup
Cons: Very confusing to get apps set up to play the surround sound
When I went into to our local Crutchfield store to replace one tv I was directed to this tv. I was blown away by the new technology and the advances that Samsung had made since I had bought a Samsung 55" LED HD tv just 4 short years ago. I ended up moving the older Samsung downstairs and bought two of these. And, yes, I'm happy about that decision.
Pros: Technology, 3D, HD, 240 resolution rate-outstanding for watching sports & action films, internet ready, light weight
Cons: New technology to learn
Looked like a great tv, but the Crutchfield folks swayed me to a 4k Samsung for the same price.....
Pros: Looked nice
Cons: Got a 4k for the same price
Great TV, setup was easy, picture quality is superb, the batteries in the 3d glasses were not charged, but binding them was easy
Pros: Easy setup Easy installation App usageusage well integrated
Cons: Batteries in 3d glasses discharged out of the box
Outstanding picture. HD clarity is excellent. Easy setup. Have 7150 connected to home stereo system via optical cable. Crutchfield tech support very helpful.
Pros: Set is excellent all around. Would buy again. Crutchfield support is a real plus. Easy setup.
Cons: None yet. Still learning.
Great picture, super easy to use remotes, no issues with internet connection or software. Once I got the picture dialed down from the eye burn settings it had, I love it. very little motion blur, great colors and the 3D whilst really only a toy, is so cool. Struggling to find any complaint at this point, one month in.
Pros: picture, price, value
Cons: non really, even the onboard speakers are passable
We made a major upgrade from an 8 yr old 32" LCD TV and are wondering why it took us so long. This TV is absolutely worth the money, but it does require a time investment to set it up.
Pros: Fantastic picture: deep blacks, great color contrast Looks great on the wall, and the stand is very stylish User interface is good
Cons: Not easy to set up with an external sound system. The process seems easy but, if you want to use the very nice Samsung universal remote to control external speakers, you get an error message every time you adjust the volume. The workaround was to trick the TV into thinking that the speakers were attached to a (mythical) tuner. Unfortunately, you have to then figure a workaround for each attached device (DVD, Xbox, etc) which I havent figured out yet.Crutchfield response on October 27, 2014 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Picture is great. Nice color and detail. Slim frame design. All features work as suggested. Crutchfield was also amazing!
Pros: Great Pic. 3D is sweet.
Cons: I only have one.
The Samsung UN55H7150 (7150) TV has an incredible sharp, beautiful color display. But that'd just part of the story. Physically, it's a jewel: lightweight (32.6 lbs w/o stand), super thin 1.3 inches, two controllers, good instructions, and two pairs of 3-D glasses. Connections include Antennae IN, 4 HDMI INs, Digital audio out (Optical), 1 Ethernet LAN, 1 IR out, 1 RCA (out), component/AV stereo, and EX LINK (for other SS equipment). We use HDMI in and Optical audio out (to an entertainment center).
The fact that this 55" weighs only 32.6 lbs (w/o stand) makes it very applicable to wall mounts which can extend out as far as 25 inches. I acquired an Articulating Full Motion TV Wall Mount (for 32"-65" LED LCD Plasma TVs that weigh up to 165 lbs) that would extend to 25 inches. I mean at 32.6 pounds this wall mount hardly knows the TV's there (mine is extended 22 inches).
Connecting to the internet via WI-FI is what SMART TVs are all about and this one's good ... very good (the Smart Hub controller is much smaller than the main controller, and will do most of what you need ... so you have a choice). Smart Hub brings WI-FI built-in apps such Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, Netflix, YouTube, etc.
Don't forget to read about how to clean the screen to remove finger prints, etc. Samsung has all the information you need in the manuals to keep your TV ... perfect. Lots to like about this Samsung...
Pros: A Samsung
Overall I found this TV to be quite nice. It works really well and has a sleek finish.
Pros: Beautiful picture, easy to setup, love the apps and features
Cons: Sound. My only issue with this TV is the sound. It is not very loud. I find myself having to have the volume around 50 in order to hear it clearly when people talk. It seems like some actions scenes it is loud, other scenes it is quite.
Got this set to replace a 46 inch Samsung which is now in another room. It is actually the same size and lighter than the 46-inch set I got a couple of years ago with the difference being the razor thin bezel. It is really all screen which I like and the picture is clear and bright, great for movies and sports.
Pros: Lightweight (easy to install on wall bracket) Great Picture
Great led picture rocks
I went looking for a top dollar non-UHD set and was drawn to this one because of the quad core processor, the ultra thin bezel, and the catamaran style stand. I have young children and wanted a solid stable stand for the TV, the traditional center foot style looks old school for me. There's a noticeable improvement in processing speed from my parents dual-core Samsung TV, the quad core processor is a must!
The only reason i gave this less than a five star review was my expectation that there would be some sort of "blur effect" for watching older movies. Many of the movies now look like i'm watching a soap opera and I'm used to seeing them with a slight softening of the images. It would be nice if such a feature was available.
Pros: Wi-Fi setup was a breeze, two remote controls are awesome, the blue tooth connectivity is a gem (great for wireless sound bar). Did I mention the ultra-thin bezel!?
Cons: Haven't been able to find the WatchESPN app for the TV, this would be nice to have.
I love this TV, especially coming from a 2005 Magnavox 42"! The bezel on this is what really drew me to this set, as well as the specs. Would Def. recomend!
Pros: Almost no bezel, clear picture, smooth and fits just right on my mantle.
Cons: 3D isn't all that great and get a rainbow effect from background lights(but only when tv is off, so who cares).
As advertised. Great TV and smart features. Very easy to set up and connect to wi-fi. Picture is awesome.
Pros: Ease of set up. Picture quality. Internet features. Smart hub interface. Touch pad remote. Style and design.
Cons: Not really any faults discovered yet!
We purchased this television for our master bedroom and are extremely satisfied. The picture quality is great,. My husband loves having the ability to access Pandora, YouTube, and Netflix so easily.
Pros: Great picture quality Smart TV functionality is easy to understand Nice aesthetic design
Cons: There was a lot of unnecessary packaging on this TV- which I can appreciate because it arrived in excellent condition. Just do yourself a favor and remove all the stickers and film before assembly.
A fantastic TV by Samsung. The picture quality is amazing. This is a smart tv that is very easy to set up and use. There is a lot of high tech on this tv but it does not overwhelm you. I also found that the stand this tv has is much more stable than the tripod stands in other models. Like every tv on the market the speakers leave much to be desired.
Pros: Picture quality. Ease of use.
Did many hours of research and comparisons. Many reviews said they could not tell the difference between a UD and this one. Price was also right and shipping to Hawaii was free.
Pros: Free shipping to Hawaii. Picture is beautiful. Crutchfield support terrific
Cons: There was some kind of shipping issue which caused a few more days to get it.
Awesome TV. I do not think I could have bought a better TV.
Pros: It's perfect
Cons: None so far
Don't be afraid to play around with the settings to get your best picture. After a little playing around, the picture looks really good, the small frame around the picture is much better than the TV I replaced. Samsung has a system to control the DirecTV STB with a different guide controlled by the TV, but i don't like it. I would rather use the DirecTV guide. The ability to play YouTube and Amazon Prime videos ( among other services) directly on the TV is really nice, an the streaming video looks really good.
Pros: Great looking picture, plenty of inputs and optical audio output, streaming web videos look great. WiFi enabled.
Cons: The new Smart View 2.0 is only available on Android/Google Play, not yet available for iPhone or iPad. I wish there was more information on what all the settings do in the menu.

LED Edge-Lighting w/ Micro Dimming Pro: Samsung's LED Edge-Lighting technology w/ Micro Dimming Pro maximizes the contrast between lights and darks to create a picture that is as true-to-life as possible. The television's white LEDs are arranged along the left and right edges of the screen and a proprietary light guide is used to focus its luminance inwards towards the middle of the screen for a more uniform brightness. Samsung's innovative Micro Dimming Pro technology scans zones across the image and adjusts brightness to deliver deeper, darker tones and brighter whites. It also eliminates the "halo" effect and any kind of image distortion that can happen with diffused lights. The result is a picture rich with vivid detail and accurate color reproduction.
Ultra Clear Panel: Sometimes you can't keep sunlight or house lights from shining right on your TV screen. With Samsung's Ultra Clear Panel, you can still get an amazing picture even with reflective light. Ultra Clear Panel absorbs most ambient light and virtually eliminates reflections. Ultra Clear Panel also helps make colors more vibrant with deeper blacks and enhanced contrast for crisper images and excellent shadow detail.
Clear Motion Rate 960: Clear Motion Rate (CMR) is Samsung's more comprehensive and accurate measure for how well the LED-LCD TV can display fast-moving images. Previously, motion clarity was expressed simply by the refresh rate, measured in Hz. CMR, however, takes into account all three factors that contribute to motion clarity: panel refresh rate, image processor speed and backlight technology. CMR is measured by determining the thinnest line a TV can display in a moving image. The thinner the line, the higher the CMR rating, and the clearer the picture you'll enjoy on the screen.
Auto Motion Plus: Auto Motion Plus removes blur and judder from scenes with large amounts of rapid movement to provide a clearer picture. Auto Motion Plus reduces blur so that action movies, sports and video games have enhanced clarity. Advanced panels and unique backlight technology combine with proprietary algorithms to reduce the response time and yield a more accurate image reproduction with faster onscreen motion. Auto Motion Plus can be set to Clear, Standard, Smooth, Custom, or Off.
Wide Color Enhancer Plus + Motion Lighting: With Wide Color Enhancer Plus, you'll witness a wider spectrum of colors on the TV screen, just like the director intended. You'll enjoy enriched colors while watching your favorite movies, and shows, even if it's older, non-HD content. The TV automatically adjust the brightness of the screen in response to the brightness of the room. In bright light, the screen brightens. In dim light, the screen dims.
1080p Resolution: The LED-LCD television displays all inputs at a resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080). The television's HDMI and component video inputs will accept 1080p (24/60Hz), 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i video signals.
Note: The TV has built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and Digital Cable (QAM) tuners with an RF-coaxial input, so you don't need a separate set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted Digital Cable signals.
Full HD 3D (2 Pair of Glasses Included): The Samsung LED-LCD TV offers Full HD (1080p) 3D capability. Samsung 3D TV utilizes Bluetooth-enabled active shutter glasses for a full 1080p 3D viewing experience when coupled with a 3D source, such as a 3D-ready Blu-ray player or an HD 3D broadcast from satellite or cable providers (connected via HDMI 1.4). The Samsung 3D TV also offers a unique feature that allows you to intensify your 2D viewing experience by up-converting it to virtual 3D. In addition, you can adjust the overall 3D perspective, 3D image depth, and 3D brightness.
Note: Samsung 3D TV supports Full HD 3D for 1920 x 1080p (24/60Hz), 1920 x 1080i (60Hz), or 1280 x 720 (60Hz) video signals.

You can switch the audio between the main screen and sub-screen.
DTS Premium Sound: The Samsung LED-LCD TV employs DTS Studio Sound processing with DTS TruSurround and DTS TruDialog which will decode DTS-encoded content, such as TV programming, Blu-ray movies, and streaming media, as well as processes stereo content to deliver an optimized virtual surround sound experience with enhanced bass response, clear dialog, and consistent volume levels through the TV speakers.

Audio Settings: The Samsung TV offers a variety of audio adjustments to meet your listening needs.
Audio Outputs: The Samsung LED-LCD television provides an analog and digital audio output.
ARC (Audio Return Channel): The Audio Return Channel in HDMI 1.4 enables a TV, via a single HDMI cable, to send audio data "upstream" to an A/V receiver; increasing user flexibility and eliminating the need for any separate S/PDIF audio connection. This feature allows audio to be sent from the television to your A/V receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio/video to the television. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to the TV. ARC allows audio from the TV tuner, Network connection, inserted USB device, HDMI inputs, or any analog connected device to be heard through your ARC compatible AV receiver via the television's HDMI ARC input. The audio from the TV's tuner, network connection, and USB port can pass as Dolby Digital or 2ch PCM. HDMI and analog connected devices will be output as 2ch PCM only.
Note: Both the television and the receiver must support ARC for this function to work properly. When connecting an A/V receiver that is compatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), connect it to the TV's HDMI 2 input. If connecting a system that is incompatible Audio Return Channel (ARC), an additional audio connection via Digital Audio Out (Optical) is necessary.
SoundShare: The TV is compatible with the SoundShare feature found on some Samsung active soundbar speaker systems). SoundShare makes a wireless connection between the TV and the speaker system via Bluetooth. Once the two are paired, you can control the volume and mute the sound by using the remote control from the TV or the speaker system. If you change the soundbar speaker system from TV mode to another mode or turn it off, the TV audio will resume playing from the TV's speakers. SoundShare can be found on select Samsung active soundbar speaker systems (sold separately).
Samsung's Quad Core Processor: Samsung's Quad Core processing speeds allow you to perform multiple tasks at the same time, such as using an app while downloading another one. Keyboard & Mouse Compatible: The Samsung H7150 series LED-LCD TV will support a USB-enabled keyboard and mouse (both sold separately), which makes web browsing a lot easier.
Pedestal Stand: The TV is shipped with the pedestal stand unattached. The pedestal stand attaches to the television using the supplied hardware. The television weighs 36.8 lbs with the stand. The stand does not swivel.
Wall Mounting: The TV has four threaded inserts on the back for use with an optional wall-mount bracket. The spacing of the mounting holes is 400mm (h) x 400mm (v). The threaded inserts require M8 (8mm) machine screws (not supplied). The television weighs 32.6 lbs without the stand.
Note: When mounting the TV on the stand or a wall (with optional bracket) leave 4" of clearance on each side of the television and 4" above/below the television for adequate ventilation.
Detachable AC Power Cord: The Samsung H7150 series LED-LCD TV comes with a 5' detachable AC power cord. The AC power cord sits 0.6875" out from the rear-panel. The AC power cord is fitted with a right-angle AC plug that sits 0.75" from the wall.
Kensington Lock: When mounting the monitor in a public place, you can secure it with an optional anti-theft device called a Kensington Lock (sold separately). This TV has a slot on the rear-panel to accommodate a Kensington Lock device.

This is not a Plasma TV it is LED/LCD. Its awesome for anything you might want to watch. There is no blur. When your set up to receive HD TV, this set is as good as it gets (with its build characteristics). On top of that, it only weighs 32 pounds (without stand). Mine is on a wall mount moved 23" from the wall in a bookcase type installation. Love it! [ Walter Dec 23, 2014 ]
GP motorcycles and Formula One are great on this TV. [ mitch Dec 23, 2014 ]
I don't watch much sports, but I doubt than an LED TV will ever be as blur free as a plasma. But, this is a great TV and has a way better picture than my 5 year old LED TV. [ Thomas Dec 23, 2014 ]
Ron, I consider myself a pretty picky consumer and im much more concerned with the quality of sports on the TV than movies. I was also very concerned with transitioning from a plasma to an LED because of the blur. With that said, I'm am extremely happy with the 7150. There is a very small amount of distortion that occurs occasionally with fast scenes. However, I don't even notice it if I'm not looking for it. Picture quality is exceptional and I can't imagine watching football on any other type of TV. I highly recommend it. Paul [ PAUL Dec 23, 2014 ]
Awesome! [ Bruce Dec 23, 2014 ]
Sorry, I never had a plasma. But I have been very satisfied with watching sports on this TV. I have experienced very minimal blurring. [ farrell Dec 23, 2014 ]
Its fantastic I love it [ Doug Dec 23, 2014 ]
This is a true 240hz tv. It's not absolutely perfect but very close to what you see on a plasma (I've owned one as well). On TVs with lower hz ratings you can notice some digitizing effects around players helmets when running or a football in flight, for example. As I write this I don't see any of that. [ David Dec 23, 2014 ]
This is my first 240Hz tv. I have always had plasma tvs before and they are all 600Hz. I do notice a sight blur but when I mention it to everyone else I feel like I'm the only one who can see it. I also do not watch sports. But I do watch a lot of action movies. Even with a slight blur that I can see the picture quality is almost as good as 4K. My buddy has a 4K and can't tell difference of picture quality. The speakers are weak and I do recommend a sound bar [ James Dec 23, 2014 ]
Unfortunately I can't answer that. What I can tell you is that the TV is fantastic. Great color and clarity. [ GEORGE Nov 25, 2014 ]
No. This Samsung TV has more than 4 inputs but we can select only 1 input source at a time. We cannot watch TV and play PlayStation at the same time. [ Hyukju Nov 25, 2014 ]
Nope [ robert d. Nov 25, 2014 ]
I thought this could be done with a pip feature, but I cannot find one. It does have a multiple screen feature that lets you watch tv and use a Samsung app at the same time. [ Tom Nov 25, 2014 ]
What size screws are required to mount the tv to the wall. The screws from my old tv are too small [ VitoZS Nov 18, 2014 ]
I don't think setting a sound bar in front of the TV would work well unless you had a sound bar that was pretty short. My sound bar is pretty tall, so I built a small shelf that allows the TV to sit directly above the sound bar. [ Mark Sep 15, 2014 ]
I mounted the TV on the wall and do not use the stand, but I did use it for a few days with the stand. My sound bar was not able to sit in front of the TV without being raised and it would have blocked the lower part of the screen, so I did not use it. I think the TV has pretty good sound so I haven't used the sound bar since mounting it on the wall. Also, the stand has quite a bit of shine and it can be very irritating while watching TV. The TV itself is outstanding and you will love the picture. [ Tom Sep 14, 2014 ]
Yes. You need to put the soundbar elsewhere; we have it in front of and below the table the TV us on. [ Chauncey Sep 14, 2014 ]
Bud, if you are going to lay a sound bar (you mentioned mounted) in front of the TV it will depend on how deep your cabinet top is that the TV sits on. The depth of mine is 18". The base that holds the TV stretched out in depth is 10 1/2". That only leaves you about 7" "if" you have the stand all the way back on the cabinet top. The TV sits about 2" up so depending on how tall your sound bar is it may block a small portion. Having said all of this I will tell you that this stand is one of the most stable ones in the market. The tripod ones are not very stable especially with a TV this big. Also, this is a phenomenal TV. The clarity is amazing! I would not buy the TV based on the sound bar but I would retrofit your configuration to get this great TV. Maybe you can sit the TV on a cabinet and just mount the sound bar above it or to the side. The sound bar was an issue for me so I bought a home theater system that has speakers on stands to the right and left of the TV. Don't get me wrong, I really like sound bars but this TV is a must buy. Try and work out a configuration. It will be well worth it! Thanks George S. [ GEORGE Sep 14, 2014 ]
The stand is an oval with a hollow center (you just can't see the back half of the oval in the pics. I used a wall mount so I didn't have a problem but I held the stand up to it so I could try to answer your question. The gap between the stand and the tv appears to be 1" at most. The front of the Oval would prevent you from allowing the soundBar to hang down in front of the tv. Even if you were willing 5 block the front of the tv I don't know how you would mount it and it would block enough of the screen where you would never see 5 he crawling text with sports scores and news. That said, it is the best tv I have ever owned and I have bought quite a few in the last few years. My only complaint is that I thought the voice recognition in 5 he remote would allow me to never have to type things out letter by letter again. Well, it doesn't work in many apps like netflix. Samsung needs a software update that would enter any text you say into any active text input field but I doubt we get that. [ Dan Sep 14, 2014 ]
Sorry Mike I not sure. Have not tried any wireless headphones. [ GEORGE Jul 06, 2014 ]
That would depend on how you want to connect your headphones. I don't see how to connect directly via Bluetooth, but if you have a transmitter that connects to RCA connections on the back of the TV, that would work fine. I have an external stereo that would accept a headphone jack. The TV menu has a place where you can have BT devices, but I can't see how do set them up except for a keyboard and mouse. [ Mark Jul 06, 2014 ]
Hi Mike. I am enjoying Samsung UN55H7150 very much. I don't have wireless headphone but I think all you have to do is connect the transmitter to the TV. If you google "how to connect wireless headphones to tv" you can find some help there. [ Hyukju Jul 06, 2014 ]
