Seen from the front, the Samsung Galaxy Camera looks like a pretty standard point-and-shoot. But when you turn it around and see its massive 4.8-inch touchscreen display loaded with icons for Facebook, Gmail, YouTube, and other apps, you'll know this is far from an ordinary camera. By combining their photo expertise along with their knack for designing cool smartphones, Samsung has created a high-performance camera powered by the versatile Android Jelly Bean operating system. So not only is it easy to share photos, but you can also surf the web, check your email, update your Facebook page and do just about anything you can do on a smartphone. All you need is a Wi-Fi connection and a willingness to dive headfirst into this camera's countless options, for photos and more.
The Samsung Galaxy Camera features the Android 4.1 operating system, so you can download apps from the Google Play store.
Thanks to the Galaxy Camera's built-in Wi-Fi, there are lots of ways to share photos with family and friends. You can email photos and upload directly to Facebook or other social network sites. Or you can send photos wirelessly to a DLNA-compatible TV, Blu-ray player, or computer using AllShare. It's a great way to back up photos or show them on the big screen when friends are over. And for those times when you're not on a Wi-Fi network, just let your friends view your photos on the Galaxy Camera's large, high-resolution display. It makes most camera displays look downright microscopic.
Despite its wide range of features and possibilities, the Galaxy Camera was first and foremost designed to capture great-looking photographs. Don't mistake this for a camera stuck onto a smartphone as just another feature. The Galaxy's 16-megapixel sensor and host of shooting modes, both automatic and manual, will let you capture detail and color with a lot or a little help from the camera. The wide-angle lens zooms optically to 21X, for excellent versatility to shoot large group shots or long-range close-ups. Features like Best Face, panorama, and continous shooting adjust the camera's settings for taking simple portraits, wide landscapes, or capturing fast action.
The Galaxy Camera's built-in Wi-Fi offers lots of ways to share photos right from your camera.
Lots of cool extras make the Galaxy Camera far from ordinary. On-board GPS records your location and tags your photos for tracking your travels. Voice commands let you tell your camera to zoom in, zoom out, and snap the photo without lifting a finger. There's even a built-in music player, with a speaker and headphone jack. And with 8GB of built-in memory, there's room to add apps from the Google Play™ store to make this camera an even more indispensible companion.
From baby's first steps, to that dream vacation in the islands, these cameras make it easy to capture life's greatest hits. Today's cameras have helpful automatic features, like face detection and scene recognition that make shooting more foolproof than ever. And they all have plenty of megapixels for detailed photos that stay sharp, even when you enlarge and print them.
Interesting camera tied to Samsung Galaxy. I could have used a little more direction in understanding the setup - no real instructions without going to the internet, but those instruction were okay. Picture quality is good and the camera is realtively easy to use. It is hard to see the view screen in bright sunlight but that is true of my cell phone and any screens I have seen. The size makes it easy to carry. Overall it is a really good product for its price.
Pros: Picture quality. The variety oc things for which you can use the camera.
Cons: Hard to see to take a picture in the sun. No printed set up instructions
We use this camera mainly for work taking pictures of legal documents to reduce copying costs. With the android capability, programs can be downloaded that allow us to easily convert the photo images to pdf documents and e-mailed from the camera. We use a lot of different types of camera in our line of work, and this camera takes as good of an image as any of the other cameras, but this is the only camera with android wi-fi capability.
Pros: Very good picture quality and android wi-fi capabilities.
Cons: Somewhat expensive.
Camera has solid and quality feel. The controls are response and very intuitive. I am only sorry that you have to read the full manual online! It's a hassle and I would rather have a printed manual so I can make notes and take it with me.
Pros: solid feel, good quality, very sharp image.
Cons: Almost all controls are on screen and you have to print full manual
So easy to use and so clear photo. Easy access to use facebook, internet. I just love my new camera.... and even my 9 year old granddaughter love this camera. She love all the accessories and apps..
Takes great pictures, lots of options.
Pros: Numerous setting, wi fi, picture editing
Cons: Need better info to understand all the camera features
I like it so far.pictures look great and easy to use. Haven't used apps yet
While this camera may be a bit larger than i anticiapted, the benefits of this camera far exceed this minor drawback. the photos are fantastic. While i have not progressed to the level where i would use the "Pro" settings, i have found the auto settings to do a great job regardless of me taking a photo of friends sitting or a butterfly flapping its wings. the photos have been perfect.
This is a great little point and shoot camera for family outings and fun events. Not a high res camera at all. Video seems great from this camera. Easy to share pictures through wifi.
Pros: Good video and easy to share pictures with friends and family through wifi. Love the apps that it has on it!
Cons: Camera has the same small sensor as any other point and shoot camera so don't expect huge photos!
Very nice picture taken from this camera. Also enjoy the exactly same features as Galaxy S3 except for the phone call capability.
