DLP Projection System:
DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology by Texas Instruments is the only
display solution that enables projection systems to create a purely digital
connection between a digital video or graphic source and the screen in front of
you. While all other technologies are analog and compromise some image quality
in translation, DLP projection unleashes the full potential of high-quality
video content.
Next Generation DLP Chip by Texas
Instruments: Samsung employs a DLP chip that is comprised of millions of
microscopic mirrors capable of switching on and off at 15,000 or more times a
second to deliver a razor-sharp picture for fast-moving images. When combined
with Samsung's new Cinema Smooth Light Engine, the result is a crisp, bright
picture with deep, rich colors that's closer to film.
Cinema Smooth 1080p
Light Engine: Samsung's Cinema Smooth 1080p light engine
bring together the right optics, electronic circuitry and long-lasting light
source to create a brilliant picture that's more lifelike and much closer to
film. The sixth generation Cinema Smooth light engine delivers crisp, 1080p High
Definition resolution with high contrast (10,000:1) and brightness, defined
edges and sharp detail. The Cinema Smooth 1080p light engine uses a single-panel
design that offer crystal clear picture without an possibility of convergence
errors.
LED Modern Color
Realization: The Samsung TV replaces the standard arc lamp and color wheel
with LED Modern Color Realization Technology to produce better color. The
solid-state, high output, lower power consumption, energy-saving designed LED
will last the life of the TV with no lamp to change. The unit's built-in light
sensor with beam current feedback insures stable light output over the life of
the TV. The TV's ultra-wide color gamut (spectrum) exceeds NTSC defined color
space requirements and it's ultra-quiet operation is due to no color wheel
noise.
Digital Natural Image
Engine (DNIe): Samsung's DNIe makes input signals sharper, clearer, and more
lifelike. It's advanced five image processors and six-times density enhancer help to
create true-to-life colors and high contrast, while virtually eliminating
digital artifacts.
Native Resolution: The television has a display
resolution of 1920 x 1080. The HDMI and component video inputs will accept
1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals and will display them as 1920 x 1080.
The television features a full HD 1920 x 1080p digital format converter for all
inputs.
Cinema Smooth Film
Mode: Samsung's 3:2 pulldown correction circuitry senses motion found in
unconverted 480i DVD video based on 24-to-30 fps film productions. This is especially
important when converting to a progressive video image, the result is an
elimination of visible motion artifacts.
Note: This feature is only
available when using analog signals from component, S-video, or composite
connections.
Integrated HDTV Tuner: The TV has a built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC)
tuner, so you don't have to purchase a separate digital set-top box to receive
and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV signals. The TV also has a 181-channel NTSC
analog tuner. An additional QAM tuner decodes unscrambled digital cable signals.
3D Comb Filter: The television utilizes a 3D comb filter to
dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail.
Digital Noise Reduction: If the broadcast signal received by the TV is
weak, you can activate the DNR feature to help reduce any static and ghosting
effects that may appear on the screen.
Low Noise Amplifier: If the TV is operating in a weak-signal area,
sometimes the LNA function can improve the reception by using the TV's low-noise
preamplifier to boost the incoming signal.
