Features
Integrated HDTV Tuner: The TV
has a built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) tuner, so you don't have to purchase a
separate digital set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV
signals. The TV also has a 181-channel NTSC analog tuner. An additional QAM
tuner decodes unscrambled digital cable signals.
Native Resolution: The native display resolution is
1366 x 768 and all inputs are
scaled for display at that resolution. The HDMI and component video inputs will
accept 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals.
Screen Burn
Protection: To reduce the possibility of screen burn-in, this TV is equipped
with a pixel shift function, which minutely moves pixels on the display
horizontally or vertically. You can set the number of vertical lines and
horizontal dots to shift, plus the time interval for each pixel shift. If screen
burn has occurred, you can select an all-white screen or a scrolling signal
pattern to help remove screen burn artifacts. When you watch TV with a screen
ratio of 4:3, the screen is prevented from any damage by adjusting the white
balance on both the extreme left and right sides of the television's screen.
FilterBright: FilterBright is a powerful anti-reflective film that
absorbs external light and transmits internal light, thereby increasing the
contrast levels and preventing unwanted reflection. In bright daylight,
FilterBright creates high contrast with pure black to show clearer image details
and generate superb dark area representation.
High Contrast Ratio: The contrast
ratio is 15,000:1; giving you brilliant brightness, contrast, and detail from PC,
TV, and video images.
Panel Life Expectancy: The plasma
flat panel display has an estimated life of 60,000 hours; equating to over 27
years at 6 hours of viewing per day.
Note: The estimated life
figure represents phosphor "half-life" viewing time under normal
conditions.
Digital Natural Image Engine
(DNIe): Samsung's exclusive Digital Natural Image
engine dramatically improves the picture by enhancing the
contrast, detail, and white balance, and reducing noise. DNIe can be turned off,
or a demo mode shows a split screen with a DNIe enhanced picture on the right
and DNIe off on the left.

received, or you can use the setup menu to adjust the screen quality and
position. No cables are supplied for connecting the TV to a PC.
Picture-In-Picture (PIP): The
Picture-In-Picture feature allows you to watch two video sources (TV, VCR, DVD)
simultaneously. The TV has only one tuner, so you cannot watch two TV channels
at the same time. There are three PIP views: Double (side-by-side split screens, each
with a 4:3 aspect ratio), Double Wide (side-by-side split screens, each with a 16:9 aspect ratio), or standard picture-in-picture (a
small window inside the full screen). In the standard picture-in-picture mode,
the inset PIP window can be moved to any of the screen's four corners. PIP will
not work while the V-chip is in use.
Freeze: The still button allows you to freeze an image on the screen, it can only
be activated from the remote control. When you freeze the picture the audio
continues normally.
Digital Signal Strength Meter:
The digital signal strength meter can be used to help you find the antenna
position that delivers the highest HDTV digital signal strength.

fine tuning feature allows you to manually adjust analog channels for optimal
reception. A separate fine tuning setting may be put into the TV's memory for
each analog channel.

signal area reception
might be improved by boosting the incoming signal using the LNA function. A
separate LNA setting may be put into the TV's memory for each channel.

broadcast signal received by your TV is weak, you can activate the Digital Noise
Reduction feature to help reduce any static and ghosting that may appear on the
screen.

the menu, a brief description of the function is also displayed.
