The Samsung HP-T5064 is long on performance, value, and versatility. You can count on a vivid and compelling picture for both daytime and nighttime viewing. This up-to-the-minute design arrives ready to deliver the crystal-clear perfection of local HDTV broadcasts, and include inputs for several more HD sources.
Built-in tuners pull in over-the-air HD channels even cable HD in many areas
The 50" HP-T5064 receives both analog and digital over-the-air broadcasts (antenna required). With this TV in your system, you'll no longer need to worry about the coming analog signal shutoff in 2009. Also, a "QAM" tuner allows cable TV subscribers to tune in most unscrambled channels without using a set-top box.
Picture contrast is up, unwanted reflections are down
Samsung has addressed one of the few drawbacks to plasma TVs: the tendency to reflect a room's ambient light sources. Samsung's Ultra FilterBright anti-glare filter reduces reflections noticeably while maintaining an ultra-high 15,000:1 contrast ratio. Afternoon ballgames look crisp and bright, while movies at night feature rich blacks and realistic shadow detail.
Plenty of ways to expand your entertainment options
The versatile HP-T5064 has a total of 7 A/V inputs, with HD-compatible component video and HDMI inputs for your highest-quality sources. Hook up your PC or Mac to this set and the Picture-in-Picture feature can simultaneously display a sitcom and a spreadsheet. Some less-robust plasmas play it safe by leaving out a PC input, but the HP-T5064 resists screen burn-in.

Samsung HP-T5064 Reviews
Average Customer Review:
Great Performance - Excellent Value
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
We decided to get this unit instead of a 1080p because of how far away we sit. We are glad we did. From a distance, you can't see any noticeable difference between the 720i and 1080i.
We put this unit through its paces. I have a Blu-Ray player and an HD-DVD player as well as every video game system known to man and a high-end gaming computer with Media Center. We love this TV. It is sharp, beautiful, and versatile. There are plenty of ports and are using almost all of them.
Burn-in is noticeable, but it is common with all plasma units and it goes away quickly. The menu system could be a little more streamlined, but it is logical and relatively easy to navigate.
If you are going to be seated a little further away, or if you don't really care about ultra-high-def, this is the TV for you!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I am in love with this tv. I also bought an hd antenna and because of the built in amplifier on the tv i get all the local channels in 1080i hdtv. On top of that i get 11 more all digital channels in 480i FOR FREE!!!
Even with the analog cable signal the picture quality because of the DNIe function on the tv that enhances the incoming signal to make it look more natural. As for that scary burn in that everybody has hyped up about plasma sets shows to be a thing of the past. I own a xbox 360 and playing games in hd leaves me struggling to come up with words on how to explain it! The game crackdown when you jump off high rise buildings, you seriously get that feeling in your stomach like when you go over a hill in a roller coaster. BUY THIS TV if you want your moneys worth for an hdtv.

Features and Specs
HDTV Tuner: The HP-T5064 has built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and cable (QAM) tuners, so you don't have to purchase a separate digital set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted HDTV cable signals.
Native Resolution: The native display resolution is 1365 x 768 and all inputs are scaled for display at that resolution. The HDMI and component video inputs will accept 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i signals.
Screen Burn Protection: To reduce the possibility of screen burn-in, this TV is equipped with a pixel shift function, which minutely moves pixels on the display horizontally or vertically. You can set the number of vertical lines and horizontal dots to shift, plus the time interval for each pixel shift. If screen burn has occurred, you can select an all-white screen or a scrolling signal pattern to help remove screen burn artifacts.
FilterBright: FilterBright is a powerful anti-reflective film that absorbs external light and transmits internal light, thereby increasing the contrast levels and preventing unwanted reflection. In bright daylight, FilterBright creates high contrast with pure black to show clearer image details and generate superb dark area representation.
High Contrast Ratio: The contrast ratio is 15,000:1; giving you brilliant brightness, contrast, and detail from PC, TV, and video images.
Panel Life Expectancy: The plasma flat panel display has an estimated life of 60,000 hours; equating to over 27 years at 6 hours of viewing per day.
Note: The estimated life figure represents phosphor "half-life" viewing time under normal conditions.
Digital Natural Image Engine (DNIe): Samsung's exclusive Digital Natural Image engine dramatically improves the picture by enhancing the contrast, detail, and white balance, and reducing noise. DNIe can be turned off, or a demo mode shows a split screen with a DNIe enhanced picture on the right and DNIe off on the left.
Natural True Color: The HP-T5064 can display Natural True Color with Samsung's 18-bit processor, rendering anatural and vivid picture.
Wiselink: A side-panel USB port allows you to connect a USB mass storage device (MSC) to view JPEG files and play MP3 audio files. You have access to the following functions:

Zoom: enlarge a picture 2x or 4x, once enlarged you can move the image around the screen

Source names include VCR, DVD, D-VHS, Cable STB, HD STB, Satellite STB, PVR STB, AV Receiver, DVD Receiver, Game, Camcorder, DVD Combo, PC, VOD STB, and TV.

There are three PIP views: Double (side-by-side split screens, each with a 4:3 aspect ratio), Double Wide (side-by-side split screens, each with a 16:9 aspect ratio), or standard picture-in-picture (a small window inside the full screen). In the standard picture-in-picture mode, the inset PIP window can be moved to any of the screen's four corners. PIP will not work while the V-chip is in use.
Freeze: The still button allows you to freeze an image on the screen, it can only be activated from the remote control. When you freeze the picture the audio continues normally.
Digital Signal Strength Meter: The digital signal strength meter can be used to help you find the antenna position that delivers the highest HDTV digital signal strength.
Analog Channel Fine Tuning: The fine tuning feature allows you to manually adjust analog channels for optimal reception. A separate fine tuning setting may be put into the TV's memory for each analog channel.
Low Noise Amplifier (LNA): In a weak signal area reception might be improved by boosting the incoming signal using the LNA function. A separate LNA setting may be put into the TV's memory for each channel.
Auto Volume: Auto volume automatically adjusts the volume of the desired channel, lowering the sound output when the modulation signal is high or raising the sound output when the modulation signal is low. This reduces the difference in volume when changing channels.
