A vacuum tube preamp section give the HW-H750's sound a pleasing warmth.
Take one look at the Samsung HW-H750, and you'll know there are some interesting things going on under the hood. Like any sound bar, it will dramatically improve your TV's sound by adding depth, detail, and volume. But the window on this bar's front panel offers a glimpse of something more: a vacuum tube. Usually found in vintage audio gear, tubes are known for their warm, realistic sound. That's just what the 'H750's vacuum tube preamp delivers. Combined with the Class D power amplifier, it ensures your movies, TV shows, and music sound rich and vivid, with minimal distortion.
Most people associate a sound bar's wireless capability with Bluetooth or a separate subwoofer. Sure, the 'H750 has both, but there's another cool wireless feature. This sound bar features Multiroom Link to sync wirelessly with Samsung's Shape™ wireless speakers. If you have a Shape speaker in your kitchen and the HW-H750 sound bar in your TV room, you can play the audio from your movie through both — perfect for when you have to get a quick snack but don't want to miss a word of dialogue. Or, use Multiroom Link to play your favorite song of the moment across different rooms, whether it's for a house party or just doing chores on a weekend. Add Shape speakers to your TV room and watch movies with immersive sound that fills the entire room. Requires the Samsung WAM250 Wireless Audio Hub to connect with other Samsung Shape speakers.
The HW-H750 can sit on your TV stand or mount on your wall. You can place the subwoofer just about anywhere. It syncs wirelessly with the sound bar, so you don't have to run long wires to enjoy deep bass response that TV speakers can't deliver. Powerful bass means those action movies will explode with life in your living room. Worried those loud scenes will wake sleeping children or your spouse? The Smart Volume feature prevents drastic changes in volume, either during a movie or while watching TV with annoyingly loud commercial interruptions.
Keep your smartphone around when you're near this sound bar. It's got Bluetooth onboard, so you can wirelessly stream music from your device to the bar for rich, full-range sound that fills your room. You can even turn on the sound bar with your Bluetooth-compatible device by simply pairing them. If you have a Bluetooth-compatible Samsung TV, you can connect the HW-H750 to it wirelessly, giving you a little more setup flexibility. That's a lot more Bluetooth functionality than we're used to seeing in sound bars or most other home audio components.
The HW-H750 has another cool feature not found on many sound bars: a USB port. You can load up a thumb drive with your favorite digital music, pop it in the rear-panel port, and leave it there, so you always have music cued up and ready to play. It will even play FLAC and Apple Lossless files, so you can enjoy CD-quality sound with no compromises. Even with a wall-mounted bar, you won't lose access to the USB port. The HW-H750 includes a USB cable and adapter, so you can use thumb drives without direct access to the rear-panel port.
Add big sound to your TV without a roomful of speakers. Sound bars require minimal space and wiring, and their sleek designs complement today's flat-panel TVs. Most sound bars have their own built-in amplification, so you won't need to use a home theater receiver. Some models use advanced surround processing and carefully aimed speaker drivers to simulate the effects of a full home theater audio system.
Bought for my new Samsung TV. Installation was easy and since it was a Samsung like my TV the system basically found the TV and applied itself. This item is no longer made but I am really glad that I got this one. great addition to the movie experience.
Pros: easy install, good sound works smoothly with Samsung TVs.
On Friday, while watching the WWII movie Fury, my subwoofer lost BT connectivity to the soundbar. It still is not connecting. I contacted Samsung support but of course since it is over a year old, it is out of warranty. They have a service provider where I live but.... Minimum of $100 to even look at it. I have had many Samsung products including my smarthub TV but this really sucks after spending almost this much for what was supposed to be the best soundbar available. I believe I will contact Crutchfield and see if they can help.
Pros: Great outta the box.
I removed the soundbar and the subwoofer from the box and got it set up rather easy. I connected the soundbar's 'TV OUT' HDMI to the TV's ARC HDMI port and was able to not only have all sound output forwarded to the soundbar, but control its volume and power directly via the TV itself. That's handy. Upon plugging in the subwoofer, it paired up with the unit immediately.
Wow, this soundbar/sub absolutely rocks! It can get really loud. So much that the sub can be a bit overpowered, especially when the soundbar is in 'Cinema' mode. I have the sub dialed all the way down to -6 and it still hits hard. The only issue I've run into so far is that sometimes the surrounding noise overtakes dialog when watching a movie.
The only negative aspects that I've had so far was that settings don't all save when turning it off & trying to update the firmware. There's a new one on Samsung's website that most likely alleviates bugs. No patch notes though, so who knows? Well, I downloaded the FW, unzipped the file and went to find directions. There are two sets on Samsung's site and they vary wildly! One said to copy a folder to a USB stick and the other says just the update file. Tried it many ways, and none worked. So I took to contacting Samsung via chat. Talk about an awful experience! The tech kept asking if I downloaded the firmware and then asked if I unzipped the file. This was after telling them that I followed both sets of directions and none worked. I felt like a dog chasing my tail.
Pros: Very loud, is ARC-compatible, and has excellent sound quality.
Cons: Sometimes action noise drowns out dialog, not all settings save upon turning off unit, and Samsung's tech support is the worst.
I had the unfortunate luck of getting a dud unit shipped to me. It did not work after about 15 minutes of being on and displayed "protection" then went off. I first tried to contact Samsung before getting in touch with Crutchfield - that was my first and most serious mistake. I tried to deal with Samsung's customer service for over and hour and that alone almost made me junk the entire purchase. Thankfully I reached out to Crutchfield and their phone reps were fabulous. If you are reading this before doing business with Crutchfield you will not appreciate the value of dealing with a high integrity reseller until you need to return something. Once the tech worked with me to determine that the product was broken he transferred me back to obtain and return authorization. Two days later I received a working unit. I am still extremely angry with Samsung and may never buy another product from them because of their truly rotten customer service but I am now a life-long Crutchfield customer. Simply said, you can shop for price all day long but finding a company that will not only provide you with a fairly priced product and have stellar customer service is a rare find today. The working version of the product is great but I gave it a 3 star rating because of Samsung's terrible customer service. I will cover my product findings in the Pro/Con section below. Thank you Crutchfield!
Pros: Above average sound. Simple and straight forward installation. Interfaces well with the television working with all of the controls that we use to control the TV (Comcast remote and native TV remote). Well packed (keep the packing material in case a return is needed). Attractive. Short sound bar is well matched with a 40" TV. Wireless woofer is simple to configure and really kicks out the base sounds. Works well in all modes that I have tested.
Cons: Samsung's customer service is so terrible you cannot even imagine. The Samsung tech when asked to transfer me sent me to Netflix's 800 support line. Wire management is a little awkward as you will need to remove the sound bar from the wall to access most of the important connections. Not such a bad deal but if you are debugging a faulty unit taking the sound bar down and putting it back up 20 times will really be annoying.
