Input and Outputs Notes
LCD Screen Technology: Liquid
Crystal Televisions work by trapping a liquid crystal solution between two
sheets of polarized glass. When an electric current is passed through the liquid
crystals, each crystal either blocks or allows light to pass through it based on
the broadcast information. For clear, crisp color that rivals traditional CRT
displays, a thin film transistor, known as a TFT is employed. Even in harsh
light conditions such as fluorescent light or direct sunlight, this low
reflection coating ensures an optimal contrast ratio for a crisp, vivid picture.
This design also allows the TV to be much lighter and much more shallow than
conventional CRT TVs.
Magnetic Field: Unlike
a standard CRT tube, the LCD does not use an electron beam, so the LCD display
is not susceptible to distortion from a nearby magnet (ex: speaker).
Compatibility: The LTM-1575W has
a built-in, 181-channel TV tuner that is compatible with NTSC standard broadcast signals. The
RF input can accept signals from an external antenna or cable box. In addition,
you can connect an optional DTV (digital television) receiver, and other
external video sources (DVD, VCR, camcorder, etc) through the unit's line
HDTV-ready Component Inputs: The
two component video inputs: one that allows you to connect an optional DTV
(digital television) receiver, and another for connecting a source with
component video outputs. The Component 1 (DTV) input is
capable of receiving 1080i, 720p and 480p video signals; all signals are converted to 768p signals for display. The Component 2 (DVD)
input is capable of receiving 480p and 480i video signals. These inputs allow
you to connect both a DTV receiver and a progressive scan DVD player.
Display Resolution: The LTM-1575W is a progressive scan TV, with a native resolution of 1280 x 768. The inputs will accept 1080i, 720p, 480i and 480p signals, and it will display them as 768p images.
PC-Capable: This unit has a
separate PC input that allows you to use it as a high-resolution computer
monitor. The supplied 15-pin D-Sub cable can connect to the monitor outputs of
most personal computers, and the mini-jack audio input provides a connection to
the PC's sound card.
Picture-In-Picture (PIP): The Picture-In-Picture feature allows you to
simultaneously two video sources (TV, VCR, DVD) or watch an external video
source while working on your PC. The secondary video image can be displayed in a small window superimposed
over the main (or PC) screen or two same-size images can be viewed side-by-side
for a Split Picture-and-Picture. With the remote, you can change the TV channel
or the source of the secondary image, and swap the main image with the secondary
image. In addition, you can independently choose which audio source to listen to
through the speakers and which source through the headphones.
The flat screen delivers images that are virtually distortion free and helps
eliminate screen glare.
Aspect Ratio: The aspect ratio
of this TV/Monitor is 16:9. When viewing video displayed in the 4:3 aspect
ratio, you can choose between the following Screen Sizes: Wide, Panorama, Zoom
Adjustable Color Temperature: You

normal (white) to cool (bluish white). There is also a User Mode, allowing you
to customize the individual color components, and a Reset to return the settings
to the factory default.
Automatic Picture Settings: In
addition to the factory picture settings, the TV/Monitor has two preset
Automatic Picture (Mild and Dynamic) settings, plus a Custom setting. The Mild
setting (mild contrast) is for low light viewing and video games. The Dynamic
setting increases the clarity and sharpness of the picture. If you want a fine
adjustment of the picture quality, you can choose the Custom setting, which lets
you manually set the contrast, brightness, sharpness, color and tint.
High Contrast Ratio: The
contrast ratio of this unit is 400:1 which gives you brilliant brightness and
contrast for superior picture and detail from both PC and TV images.
Picture Freeze: This feature
allows you to freeze an image on the screen from a video source or PC. You can
only activate this feature from the remote control.
Automatic Sound Settings: In
addition to the factory sound settings, this unit has three automatic sound
settings (Music, Movie and Speech), plus a Custom setting which allows you to
adjust and save your personal preferences. The Custom mode includes a 5-band
equalizer (100, 300, 1k, 3k, 10k), plus settings for Virtual Dolby, Auto
Volume, MTS and Headphone.
Virtual Dolby Surround: The
LTM-1575W has built-in Virtual Dolby Surround which helps create a 3D sound
environment without the addition of external speakers.
Headphone Settings: When using
headphones, you can independently set the bass, treble, balance and which PIP
audio source to listen to.
V-Chip Parental Control: This
feature allows you to limit the shows that can be viewed based on the TV
Parental Guidelines and a movie's MPAA rating. After setting Parental Control
"On", you must enter the password to view blocked programs.
Speakers: This unit uses two
full-range speakers and two separate tweeters driven by a 3 watts-per-channel
amplifier for a richer and more detailed sound quality.
