LCD Screen Technology: Liquid
Crystal Televisions work by trapping a liquid crystal solution between two
sheets of polarized glass. When an electric current is passed through the liquid
crystals, each crystal either blocks or allows light to pass through it based on
the broadcast information. For clear, crisp color that rivals traditional CRT
displays, a thin film transistor, known as a TFT is employed. Even in harsh
light conditions such as fluorescent light or direct sunlight, this low
reflection coating ensures an optimal contrast ratio for a crisp, vivid picture.
This design also allows the TV to be much lighter and much more shallow than
conventional CRT TVs. Unlike
a standard CRT tube, the LCD does not use an electron beam, so the LCD display
is not susceptible to distortion from a nearby magnet (ex: speaker).
DNIe: Samsung's exclusive DNIe
(Digital Natural Image engine) technology dramatically improves the picture by
enhancing the contrast, detail, and white balance while reducing noise. The
effect of the DNIe can be shown on the screen in the DNIe Demo Mode--the screen
shows the improved image on the left next to the original image on the right. In
the menu, you can select "DNIe On" or "DNIe Off."
Viewing Angle: This
unit features a 170-degree horizontal/170-degree vertical viewing angle.
Removable Stand: The LTN-325W comes with a stylish removable stand. For wall mounting, an optional wall mount
bracket (model # WMTL3200) is available from the manufacturer.
Detachable Speakers: The
LTN-325W is equipped with 2 detachable speakers for the front left and front
right channels. Additional speakers can be purchased for the center and rear
channels.
Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Decoders: The TV
is equipped with an optical digital input, a coaxial digital input, built-in Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS decoders and
a 5-channel audio amplifier with 10 watts per channel and a subwoofer preamp
output. The rear panel has 5 pairs of spring clip terminals for each speaker. Dolby Pro Logic II processing can be used to enjoy 5.1-channel surround sound while the TV
receives mono or stereo analog signals.
Bass Management: For Dolby
Digital sources, you can adjust the following parameters for the best surround
sound effects:
- Speaker Configuration: You
can select large or small for the front left and front right speakers, and
on/off for the center speaker, rear speakers and subwoofer. When no center
or rear speakers are connected, a down-mixed sound track will be heard
through the front speakers.
- Speaker Level: You can
independently set the output level of each connected speaker with a test
tone.
- Time Delay: You can set a
time delay for the rear speakers based on the distance they are positioned
away from the listening position.
- Dynamic Range: For nighttime viewing, you can turn on
the Dynamic Range compression to reduce the difference between the high and low
volume.
Dual TV Tuners: The LTN-325W has
dual built-in, 181-channel NTSC standard TV tuners with a single antenna input.
Picture-In-Picture: The two
tuners eliminate the need for a second video source (such as a VCR) for
picture-in-picture. You can select
standard PIP operation (with a PIP frame size of Large or Small), or one of two
split-screen modes. During standard PIP operation, the PIP frame can be moved to
any corner on the screen. In both modes, you can alternate sound between the
main program and the secondary program. Using the Swap function, you can
instantly switch the main program with the secondary program. Note: You
cannot simultaneously view two component video sources, and you cannot view the
PC as the sub picture.
HDTV-ready Component Inputs: The
LTN-325W has dual component video inputs that allows you to connect an
optional DTV (digital television) receiver and other sources
with component video outputs, such as a DVD player. Both component video inputs
are capable of receiving 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i video signals.
Display Resolution: The LTN-325W
has a native resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels with a built-in image scaler. This
allows the TV to accept inputs from a variety of digital and analog A/V or PC
sources. The TV can accept 1080i, 720p, 480i and 480p input signals, and it will
display them as 768p images.
PC-Capable: You can use the
TV's DVI-D input to connect it to your personal computer to use as a
high-resolution computer monitor. In the TV's PC setup menu, you will need to
choose the proper DVI signal (analog or digital) to match the computer's video
output. Once the signal type is chosen, you can manually or automatically
configure the TV to the computer's video signals. There is a separate mini-jack
PC audio input to provide a connection to the PC's sound card.
Aspect Ratio: The aspect ratio
of this TV/Monitor is Widescreen 16:9. You can display a 4:3 image in the Normal
Mode (with black bars on each end), or set the picture to 16:9 Wide Mode

stretching the picture), or magnify the image to fill the screen (Zoom 1 or 2). Note:
The Panorama mode does not work in 720p or 1080i modes.
Picture Freeze (Still): This feature
allows you to freeze an image on the screen from a video source or PC with
normal sound continually being heard.
Automatic Picture Settings: The
LTN-325W offers 4 automatic picture settings that are preset at the factory, or
you can recall your personalized picture settings in the Custom Mode. The
automatic settings include Dynamic (increases the clarity and sharpness of the

Color and Tint.

the TV is operating in a weak-signal area, sometimes the LNA function can
improve the reception by boosting the incoming the signal with a low-noise
preamplifier.
Fine Tuning Channels: After
tuning a station, you can further manually adjust the channel for optimal
reception.
V-Chip Parental Control: This
feature allows you to limit the shows that can be viewed based on the TV
Parental Guidelines (FV, D, L, S, V) and a movie's MPAA rating (G, PG, PG-13, R,
NC-17, X). The parental controls are protected by a 4-digit password.

and size adjustments), V-Chip Guidelines, Picture and Sound
Mode selections and Aspect Ratio adjustments. Dimensions: L=8.251", W=2.262",

Inputs
and Outputs Notes
DVI-HDTV Interface: This
input consists of a DVI-D terminal. The DVI-D terminal can accommodate a
copy-protected digital connection (HDCP) to other devices (such as digital
set-top boxes) that have compatible interfaces. You should also use this input
when connecting your PC to the TV. If your PC has a 15-pin D-Sub connector, you
will need a PC Video Cable with a DVI connector on one end and D-Sub connector
on the other end. When using this DVI-D terminal, you must use the PC Audio
input (stereo mini-jack) for your audio connection.
Digital Inputs: There are two
digital inputs on the back panel of this TV; this unit has one Toslink optical
digital input and one coaxial digital input. The digital inputs are assignable,
so they can be configured to work with the video inputs of your choice.
Speaker Outputs: There are 5
sets of spring clip speaker outputs for use with the supplied front left and
right and optional center and rear speakers.
Component Video Inputs: There
are two component video inputs (Y, Pb, Pr) capable of receiving 1080i, 720p and 480p video
signals. Each of the component video inputs also have stereo audio RCA jacks.
Composite and S-Video Inputs: The
unit has two inputs with stereo audio RCA jacks and composite video jacks. One
of the two inputs also has an S-Video jack. These can be used for a VCR, video game or satellite receiver without
component video outputs.
A/V Output: In addition to the
two composite video inputs, there is a composite video output with stereo audio
output jacks.
Headphone Jack:
There is a stereo mini-jack on the back of the TV. When headphones are plugged
into this jack, the speakers in the TV are not muted. This allows you to listen
to the main audio in the headphones while the external speakers are playing back
the sub channel audio during PIP viewing.
