Want hands-free phone operation and control of your phone's important features when behind the wheel? Parrot's CK3000 Evolution Bluetooth cell phone car kit connects to almost any car stereo system so you can take calls from your Bluetooth phone through your car's speakers.

The Evolution's control panel installs beneath the dashboard, so all you see is the small dash-mounted keypad and microphone. Once your car's engine starts, the Evolution connects automatically to your Bluetooth phone. With the external microphone mounted, just say a name and the Evolution takes care of the dialing. The CK3000 can work with up to three Bluetooth phones at one time.

You control your phone's menu functions with the dash-mounted 3-button keypad. From dialing to phonebook to voicemail, the keypad and voice prompts will guide you easily through phone functions as you keep your eyes on the road. You can change the volume with the press of a button.

The voice recognition software remembers up to 150 names from your phone's address book for dialing (only works with certain phones). Noise reduction on the external microphone lets you carry on a conversation in a normal tone — no need to shout, even in heavy traffic. Most importantly, the Evolution is programmed to mute your car's radio at the onset of an incoming call, ensuring clear sound over your car's speakers.

The Parrot CK3000 Evolution is compatible with all Bluetooth cell phones on the market and installs with most factory and aftermarket car stereo systems. Some factory systems may require an additional wiring adapter.

Access email and text messages with your voice
This device is now compatible with TextFriendly®, a service which allows you to access your email and text messages, all by voice activation. You can listen to, delete, compose, reply, and forward without taking your eyes off the road. TextFriendly also works with Facebook and Twitter updates, and is compatible with all phones that work with your Parrot device. You get a year of free service from Parrot — after that, you pay $4.99 a month, or $39.99 a year.

Note: Crutchfield carries cell phone kit harnesses that allow plug-in connection of Parrot's Bluetooth car kits in a wide variety of vehicles. You may have to drill one or more holes into the dash or remove and remount the dashboard face to make the component connections completely free from visible wires, but hiding the wires is not necessary to operate the system.

Features

Overview: The CK3000 Evolution Car Kit connects to your factory stereo system so you can take calls from your Bluetooth phone through your car's speakers. The kit includes an electronic control unit, keypad, and separate microphone.

Vehicle Compatibility: The Evolution car kit is compatible with select vehicle factory systems. Installation requires a vehicle-specific adapter. To verify compatibility with your vehicle, please use the Crutchfield Car Selector.

Mobile Phone Compatibility: The Evolution is compatible with most Bluetooth mobile phones on the market including the Apple iPhone. The kit allows you to register up to three different mobile phones. Note: Because the Evolution does not feature phonebook sync and the iPhone does not support Object Push or Voice Recognition, the Evolution will work as a speakerphone only when used with the iPhone.

Microphone: The microphone features echo cancellation technology and background noise reduction, allowing conversations to remain clear despite noise in the vehicle.

Keypad: The keypad includes the Answer and Hang Up buttons, and the central button, which allows you to adjust the call volume and access the kit's menu system.

Voice Recognition: Thanks to the voice recognition feature, you can say a name and the Evolution will automatically dial the person's number. You can store up to 150 names in memory.

Note: This function is only available on certain phones.

TextFriendly: A new feature called TextFriendly is available for the CK3000 Evolution through a firmware update. It allows you to receive and answer texts and emails via voice. After a 6-month free trial period for new Parrot customers (or a 3-month free trial period for existing Parrot customers) a monthly fee is required to subscribe to TextFriendly.

Magic Words: Magic words are keywords used to accept an incoming call or end a call, as well as activate the voice recognition feature without taking your hands off the wheel.

Optional Speaker: The optional CK-70003S speaker kit allows you to enjoy hands-free convenience, without having to splice into your car's speaker wiring harness. The speaker has a proprietary rectangular 8-pin (2 pins present) connector that plugs into the supplied wiring.

Installation

Optional Adapters Available: An optional, vehicle-specific T-harness adapter may be available to simplify the installation of the Evolution car kit in your vehicle. The adapter plugs into this unit's power and mute cables, and it interfaces with your vehicle's factory wiring. Please, enter your vehicle in the "Outfit My Car" online vehicle selector to see if a T-harness is available for your vehicle.

Installation Location: The electronic control unit mounts under your vehicle's dash and the keypad is mounted to the dash surface. The supplied hardware allow you to mount the microphone on a vent, visor, or on the dash.

Power Cable: The power cable has a 4-pin Molex plug on one end that connects to the electronic control unit. The other end of the power cable has a 9" T-section, which plugs into the optional adapter and interfaces with the factory system.

Mute Cable: One end of the mute cable has a 10-pin Molex plug that connects to the electronic control unit and a 4-pin Molex plug that connects to the supplied keypad. The other end of the mute cable has an 8-pin rectangular male connector and 8-pin rectangular female connector that plug into the optional adapter and interface with the factory system.

Very good Product

A very capable unit that makes and receives calls with a clear reception on both ends. In order to make sense of the wiring one must use the instructions from Parrot along with the ones that come from Crutchfield. The whole project seemed a bit intimidating at first but as I started following the install instructions things got easier. You just need to make sure that you take it one step at a time and double check your connections. The matching vehicle wiring harness is an absolute must. I would not recommend anyone to try it without unless you are a professional installer. I installed mine on a 2011 Pathfinder and it works as promised. I had absolutely no problems and it came on the first time I started the car.

Pros:

Works very well. Better than the bluetooth that came with my stereo that I put into my previous vehicle. It is clear on both ends of the conversation and it has simple features.

Cons:

My cellphone is not compatible with this unit so I cannot use the extended features like voice command; however, it is still capable of receiving and making calls. That is all I really needed.

Problems with sound quality and pairing

I installed this kit in my mom's car about a year ago to comply with Maryland hand-held cellphone laws. It works, I guess. The sound quality on the receiving end is mediocre (sound quality in-car is fine), and the CK3000 keeps on forgetting the pairing, requiring my mom to re-pair frequently (and at random times). Last I checked, she had given up on using the kit because it was less distracting to talk hand-held than to get it to work.

Good Bluetooth Kit

I installed this car kit into a 2010 Hyundai Sonata GLS. I was happy to find ISO
connectors on the stock radio, making the installation super easy. I paired this with a
Droid, which paired but did not connect. After eraseing the Parrot memory (Holding the
green & red buttons down for a few seconds), the Droid paired and connected. The
pairing/connect operation is now automatic every time I start the car.

Bluetooth call operation is very good; Audio output to the car speakers is very good, and
all of those I have talked to using the Parrot have indicated they could hear me crisp and
clear.

I highly recommend this car kit to anyone looking for a convienient and well performing
bluetooth car kit.

Great Product once I got a good harness

I purchased the kit and wiring harness that is for a Dodge Grand Caravan. However upon receiving the kit and installing, there was no sound from the parrot kit. I later found out that I have an Infinity amplified system. I called Crutchfield and talked with tech support and was told that they (or the harness company - Metra) do not have any wiring harnesses that work with amplified systems. Tech support was great and informed me that there were companies that make these harnesses to work with amplified systems, and they worked with me to locate some of these companies. I then found a harness. The harness was plug and play, and a great product.

AWESOME!!!

Overall, installation was simple with the harness, minus tucking in all the new wires (I also have a USA Spec iPod integration). The sound quality is better than a headset, and the features are very easy to use. It IS iPhone compatible, which was a huge selling point for me, and uses all the features that come with the phone. If you have a very windy/loud car, you might need to modify your microphone by adding a 10 Ohm resistor into the line, which will take out the some of the sensitivity of the mic. All in all, great product!!!

Good But Not Perfect

The device works pretty much as advertised. It has a hard time with my Verizon
Blackberry Curve, For instance it pairs ok once, but then forgets it was paired the next
time the car turns on Also, the sound quality is a little wonky on the recievers end and
staticy inside the car. However my old Tmobile flip phone connects flawlessly every time
and sounds crystal clear... I'm willing to blame RIM and Verizon :)

Parrot CK3000 Evolution

This is not a plug and play Bluetooth device. I had this installed with ver 5.23 ...and it kept loosing pairing with my blackberry. Tried to get SW updated to ver 5.24 - and that is not easy....needs a serial connection cable, re-opening all the radio.

Might do it if i have time, but it has not been a good experience....so just a reminder that this device has issues.

Easy

Using the Parrot CK3000 is completely effortless. With my cell phone on and in my pocket, I sit in my car and turn on the ignition. The Parrot gives me a beep to tell me it is connected. If I get an incoming call, It silences the radio, announces the caller's name and rings through the car speakers. It answers the call and gives me another beep to tell me the line is open, and I say "hello". I talk with the caller hearing them through the car stereo speakers. When the caller hangs up, the call is ended and the radio comes back on. For the entire process, all I have to do is talk. Everything else is handled automatically.

Outgoing calls are almost as easy. I have been buying from Crutchfield for over 15 years and they are the best.
