Parrot's Easydrive hands-free car kit lets you take full advantage of your Bluetooth® phone in your car. You can talk on the phone while driving and enjoy quality sound for conversation — all without taking your hands off the wheel.

Plug the Parrot Easydrive into your car's cigarette lighter, and you're ready to roll without any complicated setup. The Easydrive connects with your Bluetooth mobile phone automatically — just use the dash-mounted keypad to dial, hang up, or change the volume coming through the Easydrive's speaker. The speaker cover comes in two different colors to complement your car's interior.

The Easydrive kit also includes an omnidirectional microphone. Noise-reducing technology allows you to hear your callers clearly, and have a conversation in your car without raising your voice.

You can have Easydrive dial a number just by saying a name, and you can store up to 150 different names from your phone's address book (only works with certain phones). You don't have to search around the car for your phone, which makes driving much safer in any situation.

The Parrot Easydrive works with all Bluetooth mobile phones. It moves easily from car to car for maximum convenience, and it never needs recharging. Take it on business trips or your next vacation — the Easydrive is small enough to fit in your pocket or bag.

Features

Overview: The Easydrive Car Kit includes a speaker that plugs into your vehicle's cigarette lighter, a keypad with integrated microphone, and the necessary mounting hardware. The Easydrive connects with your Bluetooth mobile phone and allows you to make and receive phone calls hands-free.

Compatibility: The Easydrive is compatible with many Bluetooth mobile phones on the market, including the Apple iPhone. The kit allows you to register up to five different mobile phones. Please visit the following website for a specific list of compatible Bluetooth mobile phones -  http://www.parrot.com/guide_chm/easydrive/index.html

Note: Because the Easydrive does not feature phonebook sync and the iPhone does not support Object Push or Voice Recognition, the Easydrive will work as a speakerphone only when used with the iPhone.

Speaker: The speaker optimizes signal amplification and the acoustic output, and provides excellent sound reproduction, allowing you to clearly hear the caller. The speaker plugs directly into your vehicle's cigarette lighter. The speaker has a hardwired lead that plugs directly into the supplied keypad.

Keypad: The keypad has an integrated omnidirectional microphone with background noise reduction, allowing conversations to remain clear despite noise in the vehicle. The keypad includes the Answer and Hang Up buttons, and the central button, which allows you to adjust the call volume and access the kit's menu system.

Voice Recognition: Thanks to the voice recognition feature, you can say a name and the Easydrive will automatically dial the person's number. You can store up to 150 names in memory.

Note: This function is only available on certain phones.

Magic Words: Magic words are keywords used to accept an incoming call or end a call, as well as activate the voice recognition feature without taking your hands off the wheel.

This is fun !!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this unit to stay legal. I drive several cars throughout the week, so a built it was not good. This unit work great. I move it from car to car and have no trouble. One car has a power outlet that is finicky and I have to align the speaker just right, but it still works fine. I would recomend this to any driver. It was up and running in minutes.

Limited usefulness

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product does work well when the car is at rest or on a very quiet road at low speed. At higher speeds and with common road noise, it is very difficult to use. The incoming sound from the speaker is good and is loud enough for all but the noisiest environments, but the transmitted sound degrades rapidly with any ambient noise. When I was driving, callers complained that there was a lot of noise ('like it was raining very hard') and asked me to repeat a lot of sentences. Comparing it to a factory built in Bluetooth in my one car showed it to be markedly inferior under the same conditions.

I called Crutchfield and they suggested trying a second one before giving up. I did and it was the same as the first. It appears that there is no passive noise cancellation built into the mike and the dynamic noise cancellation can only respond to a limited range. (Parrot could easily fix this, but hasn't, with an optional plug in mike with passive noise cancellation that could be mounted nearer to the speaker's mouth.)

Set up was easy and it connected to three different phones fine (took a couple of tries, but once paired, it consistantly worked fine with each one.)

Bottom line: Although it does work, unless you have a very quiet car or are going to use it in a quiet, out of car environment, there must be better units available. Mine's going back for something else.

Bad Experience

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this product June 28, 2007. When I attempted to install it, I found that the dash board mounting piece was missing. Crutchfield sent a new kit immediately. I mounted the mike and after paring the device to my Motorola Maxx Ve, attempted to use voice commands. That failed so I contacted Parrot technical support. After several test by their technition, he determined the product was defective. I sent that kit back to Crutchfield and tried the second kit that I received from Crutchfield. My phone would not connect to the Parrot. After calling Parrot technical support again, the technition determined that the Parrot needed a memory upgrade to be compatible with my phone. I then returned the second kit to Crutchfield and requested a refund.

This kit is advertised to be compatible with all Bluetooth cell phones.
