Parrot's MINIKIT Slim hands-free car kit lets you take full advantage of your Bluetooth phone in your car. Its excellent sound quality allows you to converse without straining to hear, while you keep both hands on the wheel. You can also use the MINIKIT Slim for talking on the phone at home while preparing meals, at work while you're using the computer, or doing any other tasks which require both hands.

You can take the MINIKIT Slim portable speakerphone with you in any vehicle. Slide it on your car's visor and use the 3-button keypad to dial, hang up, or change the volume coming through the MINIKIT's advanced flat-panel speaker.

The kit connects with your Bluetooth mobile phone automatically — it uses its own built-in voice-recognition software instead of your phone's, so you don't have to touch your phone while driving. The MINIKIT Slim can pair with up to five compatible phones or devices simultaneously.

Noise-reducing technology allows you to hear your callers clearly, and have a conversation in your car without raising your voice. An omnidirectional microphone ensures every word will get transmitted, and you can use your phone up to 33 feet away from the MINIKIT Slim. It's easy to use — just say a stored name and the MINIKIT Slim will dial the number. With select phones, you can store up to 150 different names from your address book.

The compact MINIKIT Slim fits in your pocket or bag, and it works with most Bluetooth mobile phones. Charge it up with the included car charger, and you'll get up to 10 hours of talk time, plus 20 days of standby power.

Good Product So Far

Written By Michael, Huntsville, AL on Monday, September 12, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got this for my wife since she insists on talking on her cell while driving. It was the easiest Bluetooth pairing I've ever done. I didn't realize it at first, but it synced her entire contact list when I did the pairing. I wish the factory installed Bluetooth in my SUV was this easy.

The clip needs to be bigger or better able to handle thick, non-flexible sun visors- but otherwise it's easy to install. Voice recognition seems to work fine, but we'll have to see after my wife makes more calls. Call quality seems pretty good- a little static- but nothing too bad.

I would recommend this to anyone without factory Bluetooth- or for someone who doesn't want to wear an earpiece. For the price, it seems like a no-brainer.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Added this to a vehicle used for work and am very pleased with the product. Sound
quality is good for me and the person on the other end. The Parrot synced well
with my Droid 2Global phone book and the voice recognition has worked well. As
others have noted, it would be nice to have a light letting me know the system was
on, but this is not a serious issue overall and a little discipline around my use is

Awesome Finally

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Finally, a bluetooth hands-free car kit that works great. I've gone through lots of these
and they have never satisfied me. Too noisy, volume too low, bad quality. The Parrot
Minikit Slim is fantastic. Great quality phone call and great features which I'm now
learning about. The only downside is, as others have said, there's no way to tell if it's on
or not, which is why I only gave 4 stars. But with a 20 day stand-by time that's not really a
problem. And as far as Crutchfield's service, I felt like my doorbell rang with the delivery
as I pushed the confirm button on the order....LOL. Seriously, it got here really quickly
and their service is awesome. And it's nice to know that they're there for me if I have a
problem. Go Crutchfield!!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Have had this for about one month. So far it has worked fine, paired two phones without a
problem. Fortunately I paired the main phone we use first so it gets priority by the unit when
both phones together in the car. After putting in the phone books I went through the voice
recognition of each contact because I could not understand the digital voice. In this way I
could figure out and re-record some of the entries in my voice and thereby recognize them.
Talking to the unit to make a call works well.
To tell if power on simply hit jog dial and lights come on if the unit is on, otherwise nothing
happens. By accident I learned that when no phones are in the care and on the unit turns
itself of rather quickly. This is a plus for power savings but annoying when running errands
and getting in and out of car as I have to rermember to turn it back on.
The power cord of the car charger is too short and the one I got did not seat securely
making it useless. However the other charging cord with USB end works with my iPhone
charger for in house charging. I purchased a car cigarette charger that accepts The USB
cable and it is long enough so now it can charge in the car if need be.
The unit works as I was hoping so I would recommend it for cars like mine where the radio
is not blue tooth and you want an easy solution for a reasonable price because my next car
will likely have all of this built in.

Good, bordering on Great

Written By Sean, SWARTHMORE, PA on Monday, January 31, 2011

Item would be 100 percent if there was a visible indicator that the item is turned on. That is
literally the only problem. It sets up in secs and works great, but it isn't easy to know when it
is turned on, thus it has a tendency to run out of juice.

Works Great with Droid

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Droid is a great phone but the BlueTooth interactivity is not as good as my old BB. It fills the gap and comes close to the BB BT experience. The Parrot is rated as a four star speakerphone. Wish it had a light to see when it is on.

If it had an on light it would be perfect

I got this for my wife and her car.She has a bluetooth ear unit but finds it uncomfortable or forgets it.When we got the Parrot I charged it up and hooked it on the sunviser of her Smart for two, paired it with her I phone, it read her phone book, job done. You just need to remember to turn it on and off because it has no light. It's simple to operate, sound quality on sending and receiving is excellent.

Amazingly Simple

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product exceeded my expectations! After reading the reviews of how easy it was to use, I was excited to try it out. I received it, charged it, and turned on my phone's bluetooth. It immediately sync'd and I made a call right away using the voice dial feature. The caller said that he couldn't tell that I was on a speaker phone and that it sounded crisp and clear. I will recommend this to all of my friends!!

WOW it really is easy as it says

WOW this was one of the simplest electronic items I have ever had to use and set-up. Powered the unit up, turned bluetooth on for my phone (HTC Fuze) and it linked, downloaded my phone book and started all in seconds with nothing needed from me. Voice and sound is clear and I am extremely happy

Best choice for iPhone

Written By cag4, San Diego, CA on Saturday, May 16, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Good: This the *only* bluetooth handsfree device to use with the iPhone. Why? Because for some unknown reason, the iPhone does not support voice dialing, so it is unsafe to use in a moving car, period. This device off-loads the contacts onto the device and has *excellent* voice recognition/dialing built in... it just works.

The Bad: The sound quality in the car is so-so... the flat-panel speaker is acceptable, but not great, and the volume level is moderate... it can be difficult to hear over road noise, stereo, loud AC, etc.

The Bad 2: There is no visible indicator that the device is on and connected, so I've turned it on and off several times to make sure it was on. My Motorola T-305 was decent, but the blinking Blue light was annoying at night... what would be nice is something really subtle, but visible to indicate that the device is working.

The Bad 3: Battery life is short -- I've had to recharge on average every couple of days, vs. weeks for the Motorola.

All-in-all, I highly recommend the device if your phone doesn't support voice dialing internally... in fact if you have an iPhone *don't buy anything else!*

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I would definitely buy again. I have recommended to friends and family. I really like how well it downloads phonebook. Voice recognition is really important feature, although it is not perfect. It does take working with it to understand how to use, as user guide with it and the one available at Parrot website do not clearly explain some properties.

Workable but not intuitive

Written By Anonymous, Chicago, IL on Monday, February 02, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The device is easy to connect with after a full charge. Nice appearance, and it is the size of your palm. There appears to be some nice voice command auto-dial features but the manual lacks clear instructions to incorporate, even for a techie. The device is not intuitive nor is it labeled very clearly. Sound quality is good but the microphone needs to be angled towards your mouth connected/swiveled on your visor. Works good as a portable speaker phone for remote meetings.

Suprised at how easy it is

thought it would hard to use and inconvienant. Glade we were all suprised.
I'll be getting my own next.

Talking in the car within minutes of delivery

Written By jmq70, Chicago, IL on Saturday, December 13, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just purchased an 06 E350 without Bluetooth capability. I've really gotten used to bluetooth in my wifes car and think its the greatest. I really didn't want to install anything on the dash if I didn't have to as I don't like the look of aftermarket gadgets.

This device caught my eye because it was much more attractive and a little slimmer than the original minikit, but I was apprehensive because it was so new and there was only one review.

Once I received it I was blown away. It was much smaller than I even anticipated. It fits very nicely on the visor. I plugged it into my computer to charge it and it immediately downloaded my entire Blackberry Phonebook, which has thousands of entries. I couldn't wait to try it out in the car, and I was not dissappointed. By simply pressing the green butten and saying "Call Liz", the voice reads back to you what they found and then asks for "Home, work or cell phone". It then dials. Amazing.

People have also stated that they can't even tell that I'm in the car, which was always my complaint with the Bluetooth ear sets.

Bottom line, this product exceeded my expectations and talking in the car now is not a hassle.

Works Beautifully

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love this device!!! Comes with two cables, one for the PC and one for the car (both are mini-USB), so I suspect you can use any mini-usb charger for this (but haven't tried it).
The menu "speaks" to you in a female British Accent, which far nicer than some of the lousy digital voices out there in some products. Additionally, it "reads" your phonebook to you, and does a fair job doing so correctly.
Setup is easy. Works with my LG EnV2 as well as my wife's Motorola W385.
Sound is very clear, and speaker works well. The controls are easy to use, and it automatically picks up our respective phones depending on who is using the vehicle. People have told me that they cannot tell I'm on a speakerphone, which is nice. The units construction is plastic, but is still very solid. Battery life is good, and I was happy to find that the unit came fully charged, as I was heading out when it arrived.
Fits nicely on the visor of my 2004 Cadillac CTS, as well as my wife's 2000 Dodge Intrepid. Stays snug and does not slide around. You can also just set it in the cupholder of the car or elsewhere, and it seems to pickup speaking voices nicely...but appears to work best when on the visor.
This is saving us a couple of hundred a year vs. using OnStar w/Verizon wireless minutes.
Arrived in two business days with regular shipping, and works precisely as described in their wonderful product descriptions. Kudos to Parrot for a fine product and to Crutchfield for carrying it!
