Document a smaller world

When documenting the world of small objects and nature, sharpness and detail counts. Take, for example, the coin collection you've spent years developing. This Sigma Photo 70mm f/2.8 macro is an excellent choice for clear, distortion-free images, so using it will make every detail of a coin's surface sharp while filling the frame. Plus, taken out of the realm of the tiny, it doubles as an excellent portrait-length lens, capable of keeping your subject crisp while dialing back the background to a pleasing blur. And with Sigma's EX-designation denoting its high build quality, it's a lens you can depend on for many years to come.

It belongs in your camera bag too

While this macro lens is optimized for full-frame cameras, APS-C cameras can benefit as well. The focal length will increase by a factor of 1.5X on most APS-C cameras (1.6X on Canon's APS-C models), so this 70mm lens will have a 105mm equivalent length on many non-full-frame cameras. With several mountings to choose from, this lens has the versatility to find a home in almost any photographer's bag.

Carefully machined low-dispersion optical elements and proprietary coatings yield a lens that is sharp, clear, and free of artifacts like color fringing, ghosting, flaring, and distortion.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Awesome lens, image quality is excellent. It takes some getting use to with how it works. Slow focus. I have had better faster results manual focusing. it just depends on how muuch contrast there is. It needs to be on a tripod for shap images. I am thrilled with tthe shapness and small detail when the lens is locked down on tripod. Big bang for the money

Pros: Excellant image quality, lens shade is metal and screws on like a filter. If you use a Cir Pol. filter put on filter first then screw on lens shade to filter. you can adust filter by turning lens shade I love this set up

Cons: Slow focus, but at the price point it is almost perfect
