You've got to have a goal
Your goal? To be a strong photographer. Your daughter's? Well, better bring your Sigma Photo 70-300mm f/4-5.6 lens to bear quickly — she's running free in the opponent's penalty zone about to score her first competitive soccer goal.
This telephoto zoom lens is made for moments like that. Even if you're cheering from the stands, chances are you'll be able to get the shot you want, quickly and accurately. Built-in optical stabilization helps you get clear shots when zoomed in, and Sigma's precision optics see to it that the image will be consistent from edge to edge.
While this lens is optimized for full-frame cameras, it's completely compatible with APS-C size sensors as well. On most APS-C cameras it has an effective focal length of 105-450mm, so you'll have some impressive reach with this lens zoomed all the way in. Maybe both of you have scored a goal.

Features
Overview: The Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS (Model #572) is a high quality lens for travel, nature, wildlife, and family photography. The lens has the Canon EF mount, and comes with a lens hood, and front and rear caps.
Sigma DG Lenses: This Sigma DG lens is designed for use with full-frame digital SLRs, but can be used with DSLRs with APC-C-sized image sensors. DG lenses offer high contrast and subtle tonal gradations, but is resistant to flare and ghosting. The lens' Super Multi-Layer Coating suppresses reflections between the image sensor and the lens surfaces.
Optical Stabilization (OS): The lens has a two-way switch to activate (or turn off) the built-in optical stabilization. When switched to the On position, the optical stabilization compensates for camera shake, especially in low-light or long zoom situations when the camera is hand-held. When using the OS feature, it is possible to get sharp results at shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than you could without it.
Lens Hood: The 70-300mm lens includes a bayonet-type detachable lens hood to help prevent stray light from entering the lens, causing flare, and to protect the lens from rain, snow, and dust. When not in use, the lens hood can be inverted and mounted onto the lens backwards for storage.
Focus Mode Switch: The lens features a two-way switch for setting the focus mode: AF (auto focus) or MF (manual focus).
