Features
Overview: The Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM (Model #635) is a high quality standard zoom lens. Typical uses include travel, portraits, family, and nature & wildlife photography. The lens has the Canon EF-mount, and comes with a lens hood, and front and rear caps.
Sigma DG Lenses: This Sigma DG lens is designed for use with full-frame digital SLRs, but can be used with DSLRs with APC-C-sized image sensors. DG lenses offer high contrast and subtle tonal gradations, but is resistant to flare and ghosting. The lens' Super Multi-Layer Coating suppresses reflections between the image sensor and the lens surfaces.
Optics: The lens features FLD and SLD glass elements to compensate for various aberrations, distortion, and curvature at the widest angle.
Lens Hood: The lens includes a bayonet-type detachable lens hood to help prevent stray light from entering the lens, causing flare, and to protect the lens from rain, snow, and dust. When not in use, the lens hood can be inverted and mounted onto the lens backwards for storage. The lens hood adds approximately 1-3/4" to the overall length when mounted.
Optical Stabilizer (OS): Sigma's Optical Stabilizer technology compensates for image blurring caused by camera shake. You can switch the Optical Stabilizer on and off using the 2-way switch on the lens barrel.
Focus Mode Switch: The lens features a two-way switch for setting the focus mode: AF (auto focus) or M (manual focus).
HSM: The lens has a hyper-sonic motor (HSM) that provides a quiet, high-speed auto focusing mechanism.

Went from a Canon EF 28-135mm USM IS Lens to this and it was the best thing I could have done. Sigma is really stepping up there game, and my next lens is the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8.
