Power and poise
Powerful, portable, and full-featured, the Sigma EF-610 ST is made to give you flexible options when your shooting situation demands lighting support. For starters, check out the autozoom function, which provides the perfect coverage angle for the focal length of your lens, from 24-105mm. For bounce-flash effects, you can rotate the flash head up and to the right by as much as 90 degrees, or left by 180 degrees, and even down by 7 degrees.
Works hand-in-hand with your camera
The EF-610 ST is designed to work in concert with your camera's exposure system, so that you can achieve the perfect exposure for your subject automatically, without having to fuss with settings. Manual settings allow you to adjust the flash power to two levels — full and 1/16 power.
Designed for the thinking photographer
Check out these thoughtful features: there's a "catch light," which introduces a sparkle in the pupils of your subject while using the flash head in bounce mode. An autofocus auxiliary light helps improve autofocus performance in low light. And an auto-off function shuts down the unit after it remains idle for a designated time, helping conserve your battery power.

Sigma Photo EF-610 DG ST Flash Reviews
Average Customer Review:
Sigma Photo EF-610 DG ST Flash
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Good basic product. Takes a while to get to know were all the settings are but works fine. Wide angle is a little weak from about 10ft on, but I would expect this at 24mm .
Pros: low cost works best in normal focal ranges
Cons: a little short of light in wide angel from 10ft on
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Does exactly what I need I need it to do: 0, 90, 60, and 75 degree angles, and can rotate sideways, though not backwards. Warms up in about 20 seconds for the Low flash. Good battery life, and actually goes to sleep in case you set your camera down and forget to turn off the flash. I wish it could shoot backwards. Overall, very, very satisfied.
Pros: Flexible angles, quick warm up, OK battery life.
Cons: does not shoot backwards, the rear light-shield that can be pulled out sometimes slips back in and it is hard to get back out.

Overview: The Sigma EF-610 DG ST is a powerful flash with lots of features that you don't get with the camera's built-in flash. It is designed to work with the latest TTL auto-exposure systems of all the most popular digital and film SLR cameras. The head can tilt up and swivel in both directions, so you can bounce the flash in any direction. The flash is compatible with Nikon DSLR and i-TTL-compatible Coolpix cameras.
Shoe Mount: The Sigma EF-610 DG ST flash mounts to the accessory shoe on the top of your compatible Nikon camera. Flash trigger, exposure setting, and focal length (zoom) setting are transferred to the flash via the intelligent shoe.
Flash Stand: The flash comes with a stand for storing when not in use.
Variable Angle: The firing direction of the flash is adjustable. The vertical angle ranges from 0° (straight forward) to 90° (straight up) with stops at 60° and 75°. You can also tilt the head downward to 7° for close-up photography. The horizontal angle is 90° to the right (stops at 60° and 75°) and 180° to the left (stops at 60°, 75°, 90°, 120°, and 150°) for a total range of 270°.
Flash Coverage: The flash coverage is automatically set to match the lens focal length from 24 mm to 105 mm. When the built-in wide panel on the flash is engaged, the coverage will cover the angle of ultra wide-angle lenses as short as 17 mm.
Manual Flash: You can set the flash output to Manual H or Manual L allowing you to set the flash power from full to 1/16.
Custom Functions: You can customize the Speedlite features to suit your preferences. You have Six flash custom functions built into the Sigma EF-610 DG ST (set on rear LCD panel).
Batteries: The Sigma EF-610 DG ST flash uses 4 AA batteries. Alkaline, Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) rechargeable, or Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) rechargeable batteries are recommended. Charging time is approximately 7 seconds with alkaline batteries, and approximately 5 seconds with NiCd or Ni-MH batteries. The number of flashes are approximately 120 with alkaline, and approximately 160 with NiCd or Ni-MH.
Auto Power Off: To save battery power, the power will turn off automatically after a certain period of time of idle use.
Case: The included case houses and protects the Sigma EF-610 DG ST flash. There is also a small pocket inside the case, where you can store the included flash stand. The case has a flap with a hook-and-loop closure.
