Features

Auxiliary Input Adapter Application: The adapter converts the Alpine Ai-Net CD changer port on many Alpine CD Changer controller receivers to an auxiliary input. The Alpine head unit must be Versatile Link (KCA-410C) compatible. This allows you to input line-level audio signals from such items as portable CD, Minidisc or MP3 players, VCRs, satellite radio receivers, or video games.

Note: If you use this adapter as an auxiliary input adapter, you cannot connect an Alpine CD changer also.

Connectors: The adapter has a right-angle Ai-Net connector on one end and gold plated left and right RCA jacks on the other.

Seemed alright at the beginning

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the PIE version of the adapter because Crutchfield was out of stock of the Alpine cable. It seemed fine to start with, but eventually the sound started to cut out on the right side of the car. I tracked it down to a cable problem, replaced the cheap RCA cables I had been using, all was well and it came back. Turns out the PIE cable's plug doesn't fit as snug, and the pressure of the RCA cables was pulling the plug a bit out. For basically the same price the Alpine cable is original equipment, the plug fits better, and the RCA ends of it have insulation around it to keep your cables from grounding to other metal in the car. Buy the Alpine cable.

P.I.E Aux Input Adapter For Alpine

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just tried this with my new mp3 player and it's exactly what I was hoping for, flawless interface. I'm using the Iriver H10 with 20GB drive and a earphone plug to RCA patch cable adaptor and it does in fact work which is what I was worried about, so now I can permanantly carry the connections in my truck instead of hooking up an FM transmitter and loosing quality. By the way, the head unit is the Alpine CDA-9827.
