Leave your iPod cable safe at home. P.I.E.'s USB-POD iPod cable is just like the cable that came with your iPod, only with a more rugged design that stands up to automotive use. Use this 3-foot cable to connect your iPod or iPhone® to any car stereo that features direct iPod control via USB input. Warranty: 1 year.

Why would I need an iPod® adapter?

An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Having extra cable is good for teenage grandson, as taking one from house to car and back again just wouldn't work. Remember I said teenager. He really likes that he can play his I-pod music thru the radio. THUMP-THUMP-THUMP

Pros: Don't have to think about forgetting to bring cable

Cons: none

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Do not buy. Use a cheaper cable. I'm sure you own a cable that will work much much better. This stiff cable can't seem to stay connected to the tuner when even barely moving the iPhone.

Pros: None

Cons: A stiff, expensive cable.

Sturdy cable. Worth spending the extra dollars on to connect up the iPOD

Pros: Hefty cable. Good connections. Looks and feels like it will last.

Cons: Only time will tell. We will see after a few years of baking in the summer heat year after year.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just bought the JVC KW-AV50 for my 2006 Silverado. I'll fill out a review on it later, but for now I just want to make sure no one else has my problems. I hooked up the adapter to my JVC, it started charging my iPhone 4S, and started playing from my playlist immediately. Unfortunately, there was no sound coming through the receiver. Also, when reading through the instruction booklet, it states that you can not get video from your iPod or iPhone without using the JVC KS-U30 iPod A/V cable. Also, if you want to use the MotionX-GPS app, you'll have to use the JVC cable. Spend the extra $$ and get the JVC cable. Shouldn't have tried to save the extra bucks :(
