Got a portable music player? Then you probably know that a direct connection to your vehicle's radio will give you the best possible sound quality. The Precision Interface Electronics VW-AUX adapter lets you add an auxiliary input to your 1998-2007 Volkswagen factory radio, suitable for connecting a Dock & Play satellite radio tuner, portable music player, or other audio source.

Just plug the 12-pin connector on the adapter cable into the CD changer port in your trunk, connect your portable player to the adapter's RCA inputs, and go. This adapter uses your factory CD changer port, so you'll have to disconnect a factory changer or satellite radio in order to use this adapter. Warranty: 90 days.

Note: You'll need a connecting cable for connecting your iPod or for connecting a source to the auxiliary input.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Simple installation makes for quick access to my favorite satelite radio tunes. I wound up mounting this on top of the deck lid support because of water infiltration issues blowing my previous interfaces.

Pros: Accurate audio sound, no coloration

Cons: None that I have found

Great sound, easy-ish install

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted to get some good audio without the CD hassle. I went with the AUX adapter because I know jetta's are a pain due to the radio security codes and whatnot. I used this adapter to just skip the aftermarket deck and connect straight to the CD changer port in the trunk of my car.

At first things didn't seem to fit right, that was because there was an adapter of sorts for the CD changer was on it already. I couldn't even tell at first that it could be removed. Once removed, everything fit snugly in place; my cellphone can now connect allowing me to listen to mp3's and internet radio.

The price of the P.I.E's VW-AUX is that of a cheap aftermarket deck, but its was so easy to connect it was worth 70$. It is also nice I was able to keep the radio and everything stock.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It seems to work well, so far. I can't tell any major reduction in fidelity from
the factory CD player it replaced.
