Want big bass? Look at our Subwoofers Power, control, and a great price. You'll get all of that with Profile's AP1000M mono subwoofer amp. It's a great choice when you're looking to bring on the bass — it'll deliver 310 teeth-rattling watts at 4 ohms, with a jaw-dropping 500 watts of power coming your way at 2 ohms.

The level of control is amazing for an amp in this price range. It starts with a handy remote-mount bass control — mount the control in a convenient spot (16.4 foot cable included) and you can adjust the level of bass output right from your driver's seat! The continuously adjustable phase control (0-180 degrees) ensures that the bass will blend properly with the rest of your system.

You can dial in just the right amount of thump with the variable bass boost. You can also eliminate reproduction of inaudible, power-wasting frequencies that can damage your woofers with the variable subsonic filter.

Thanks to the speaker-level inputs, the AP1000M hooks up easily to a factory stereo. Adding more than one amp? The preamp outputs let you send signal to a second amp without running extra patch cables from the receiver.

Product Highlights:

  • 310 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
  • MOSFET power supply
  • remote-mount level control
  • selectable bass boost (0-12 dB) at 45 Hz
  • variable low-pass filter (50-250 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
  • subsonic filter (20-50 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
  • preamp and speaker-level inputs
  • preamp outputs
  • fuse rating: 30A x 2
  • 4-gauge power and ground leads recommended — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
  • 13-11/16"W x 2-1/16"H x 10-5/16"D
  • warranty: 3 years
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

I have this amp installed in a '05 Trailblazer paired to 3 Polk MOMO 8" subs in series parallel @ 2.67 ohms. This amp is plenty for those subs which can handle 200 watts RMS, and I'm only pushing about 160 RMS. This is a great amp for the price. I'm glad I didn't spend more $ on a different amp.
Highly recommended.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This amplifier definitely puts out the bass. I have two 12inch MTX t4512-04 subs wired in parallel pulling 500 watts rms from the amplifer. They redid the bass remote within the past year to have a much tighter, better quality remote and the LED is much brighter, very nice. Also, if the wire for the bass remote isnt long enough, you can just buy a longer wire, it's just a regular phone wire.

The amp has unfiltered Pre-amp outputs as well which is nice because I have another sub hooked up to another amp and i dont have to run extra wires.

It isnt the most visually pleasing amp that i've seen , but it definitely is at night, the red strip in hte middle is very tasteful.

another bonus is that if you do not have a deck with pre-amps, it comes with a line output converter so you dont have to spend extra elsewhere upgrading that.

Clean Power

Written By Pr0jKtZer0, Cary North Carolina on Tuesday, January 06, 2009

Was only looking to spend a couple hundred bucks on an amp to power my 2 Polk Momo 12' 4 ohm subs. Looked all around for a good deal on a powerful and clear amp. Was about to buy a $300 kenwood until my dad told me about this amp. Was very skeptical about it, doesnt look to have alot of power, and its not a name brand. Agreed that my dad could order it for me and if i didnt like it i could return it within a week. Only took 2 days for it to get to my house, crutchfield is very good with shipping on time. Hooked it up and let it run on low power for an hour to get it warmed up for the first time. Then went driving around to test it out. Could not believe the amout of clear power this thing puts out. Very good buy. Hitting 105db with this amp hooked up to my polks. Working on a new box with 6x9's in it with another profile amp. cant wait to get it all done.

Profile is the best!

Written By Brett, Cibolo, TX on Sunday, December 28, 2008

I first used Profile back in 1996 when I got my first car. I've never used any other amplifiers in my life. These amplifiers last and can take a beating.

I first purchased this particular amplifier back in early 2004 and it still works, but the remote line doesn't turn off so it drained the battery. I had to get rid of it back in April, but I bought a new one because they are so durable. 4 years for this price is well worth it!

The only con is the integrated crossover doesn't completely block all frequencies, but, with today's modern technology, almost all receivers have built-in crossovers so it's not really an issue.

Award yourself, buy a Profile amp today!

Great Amp! I put in my kids van and he loves it. I had an Audiobahn 850 watt amp driving 2 Mtx 8000s and he says this is way better than it. Didn't use the remote bass feature as the stereo has bass control. Easy install, took about a half hour since I was replacing another amp. Might get one for my car now!!

Best bang for the buck!

Written By Anthony, Maumelle, AR on Thursday, August 28, 2008

Like others have said, Profile doesn't carry the same prestige as say JL Audio or Alpine, but I guarantee for the money there's no better amp out there. I've had an Alpine amp before, and yes it was a good amplifier, but it sounded no better than this Profile. I've run both a JL 10 and a JL 12 with this amp and it simply rocks! Very clean power and true to it's rating. I love the bass controller too. I waited a while before I posted this, as I've had this amp now for nearly 2 years. It's never wavered once and never pops at turn on or anything. You'll probably never get the gain control past 25%. You won't be disappointed. I'm about to buy a 4 channel Profile for my door speakers since I had such good luck with this one.

I purchased this product about 2-months ago. I had it pushing a JL Audio 10W1v2-4. It worked fine for about a month and a half then I noticed that my bass was sounding right. So I look in the trunk and the amp is flashing. I took it to the place I had it installed and after attempting to hook up my sub to the store's amps and the store's subs to my amp we discovered that my amp and my sub are no longer working. I was told that the amp broke and then it broke my sub.

What a Deal!

Installed this in my first car for a little extra bass. I didn't want to ruin the music with it but i needed enough to power a 12'' kicker sub. Before installing the new head unit and speakers I had never touched my car and found installing this super easy! a very straight-forward amp with a very good amount of power! Bought a 4-gauge wiring kit on crutchfield and just had to go out and get a little more speaker wire! no problems so far, great product!

This was my first time actually hearing what a Profile puts out...I was blown
away!!! I've heard of them, but never heard the performance. I have it
hooked up to one 12" Kicker Solo-Baric L7 series. And when I heard it, I
was just in awe! And the price!!! Man, you can't beat the price!!! The
Crutchfield team was very helpful and informative. I've never really tried to
match my amps and subs before, but they helped me out. As a matter of
fact, I'm getting ready to purchase the 700 watt version for my girlfriend's
Durango and her two 10" Sony Xplods. I'm sure I will not be disappointed.

Got this amp a few days ago, and let me tell you, it's worth every single penny. Right now I'm powering 2 10" JL w0's with it @ 4 ohms, and it works beyond perfect!

Someone previously said that the bass remote seemed to have no effect after about halfway, I agree, you can't hear any noticeable difference between half and all the way up, but it's still nice for a quick adjustment, it has a very bright blue LED light which is kind of cool, it matches my deck.

I put this in with 4 GA wiring kit, Crutchfield instructions (which are excellent), and everything is awesome, Crutchfield is awesome, and Profile is awesome. Awesome.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just bought this amp three days ago. I put the order in on a sunday at 2am and it shipped the same day. I received it on tuesday in the early afternoon. The installation instructions that came with it are excellent. I mounted the amp where my previous system had been. Before i was running a kicker 2 channel amp putting 200 watts RMS to a single 12-inch 4 ohm SVC sub. When i got the amp in the mail i hooked it up to two 12s wired in parallel in an MTX sledgehammer ported box and it just POUNDS. Its sending 500 watts RMS total at 2 ohms, 250 to each sub, which is what they are recommended at. I am very impressed with this amp. I read a few other reviews and decided to mount the remote bass nob under my driver seat and it does light up the footwell in a cool blue at night. Pretty sweet. I don't suggest mounting it on the dash because it is a very bright LED.
Overall I am very impressed. for $160 you get either 310 watts at 4ohms or 500 at 2, which is a great deal. And with the three year warranty you cant go wrong.

Great Amp. Do not be fooled by the price and brand names on other amps. This is quality and performance packaged nicely together. The controls and power out put are worth the small price of this amp in comparison to others. I have it pushing one Alpine 10" Type R in a vented box under the rear seat in my 03' Ram Quad Cab, and it has blown me away.Power is there constantly. Adjustments are easy with the bass control knob, and the amp filters are what you see on higher priced models. Worth every penny. No issues at all, but with Crutchfield support and a 3 YEAR WARRANTY, why would you spend more on anything else. It is worth the investment.

Written By Fredediah, Connersville, IN on Monday, March 05, 2007

This amp pounds! I'm powering two 12" Alpine Type-E subs in a bandpass box, and at full volume the bass will drown out virtually everything else. You can definitely feel the bass punching you in the back - it feels like there's a kid in the back kicking the back of your seat, except it's not annoying. Very good sound for rap or metal, but also sounds good with blues and any kind of rock. The remote bass control is a necessity, although turning it up more than halfway doesn't seem to make any difference.

Bottom line is, my friends hear me coming from over half a mile away. You can't go wrong with this amp.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this amp to power one 12" Alpine Type-R Subwoofer. After doing research on many other amps with comparable power, Jay, the online sales advisor talked me into this unit. I was uneasy at first because I have always only used Big Name Brands. I decided to purchase it because it was just way too good of a deal to pass up. This Amp makes my sub SLAM!!! I built my own custom enclosure and after some tweaking with the interior volume a bit, I made my sub and amp combo hit harder than my former system which was two Pioneer 12" Subs with a Kenwood 1200 WATT amp. This amp is definetly worth the money. Don't waste money on other " Over Priced" Amps. This is the real deal!!!

I bought this amp to power my 2 12" Infinity Reference 1250w subwoofers in a downfiring sealed box with .95 cubic ft. of space (when 1.25 is recommended) underneath the back seat in my 2001 Sierra SLT Ext. Cab pickup. I've listened to many sub / amp combos, and I must say that this is probably the best bang for your buck combo. BR>
The remote bass boost is great for dialing in your bass by just turning a button. The only gripe I have is when it was about -10 degrees out the amp would send sound to my subs, but it would just sound bad, but that is the only problem I've encountered with this amp. Great bang for your buck! I would recommend to anyone on a budget (comparable to many $300+ models)

The volume on my reciever isn't even up all the way! The low-pass filter is great, as well as the adjustable phase control, and the bass remote deffinitely comes in handy for when u need a little extra kick. This amp has got to be one of the best out there for this price tag, and is packed full of features that you wouldn't normally expect from a lower priced amp. well, the main reason for the point off of the rating was because my first amp crutchfield sent me was defective but that is not their fault, they shipped me another that day and it was delivered the next day. i have this amp powering two Infinity Perfect 10.1 subs and they do sound good but i think the subs need more power. with this amp, they are getting 250 watts when they need 350. great amp though, its been running almost two months now and so far a great product!

This amp is incredible for the value.

I have this wired in parallel to a Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1D subwoofer, running at 2ohm, and it POUNDS.

Very clean bass, just the way I like.

My only complaint is that after a while of running it, even at medium volumes, the surface of the amp gets VERY hot, but I haven't noticed any degredation of performance.

If you're thinking about getting this amp, DO IT, you won't be disappointed. Also, get the EfX wiring kit, it works amazingly.

before i purchased this amp i talked to crutchfield about it. They said it was a cheap but good amp. Well i just installed it with 2 12'' alpine type e 1242 and let me tell you it is awesome. it pushes them so loud my lights dim in my car and my whole car rattles. It has a cool red strip on top. Dont bother spending big cash on rockford or infinity b/c this amp is 3 times as less and has the same power output with exceptional quality. Even if you have 500 dollars to spend on a big brand amp buy this profile amp anyways. ITS THAT GOOD!!! If your unsure about it (which i was) then set those worries behind and buy this you will be so happy. My friend has 2 mtx 12'' subwoofers powered by an infinity amp and he spent over 6 hundred dollars on his and i only have 250 in mine and it blows his out of the water. He was mad when he heard mine bc of the little money i paid compared to him. so buy this amp with any sub in its power range and it will do anything you want it to do. Best of luck to you.......AWESOME AMP

Bass Level Remote Control: This amp is equipped with a wired remote control that allows you to adjust the level of the amplifier. The remote is designed to be mounted under the dash to allow control from the driver's seat. Dimensions: Width=1.585" (2.566" including mounting tabs), Height=0.75", Depth=1.368" (1.758" including knob), Cable length=16'.

High-to-Low Level Converter: The amp is equipped with an external high (speaker) level to low (line) level converter to allow you to connect the amplifier to a receiver or factory radio without RCA preamp outputs. After splicing the receiver's speaker wires to the converter's speaker wires, you can simply plug the converter into the amp's RCA preamp input.

Line Outputs: The AP1000M includes a pair of RCA line outputs for sending an unfiltered signal to another amplifier or component without splitting the signal.

Protection Circuits: This amp has three types of protection circuits: DC offset, short circuit and thermal protection. The red LED on the right side of the amplifier will light to indicate that the amplifier has gone into protection.

Built-In Crossover: This amplifier includes a built-in variable low pass filter with a slope of 12dB/octave. The low pass filter is continuously variable from 50-250Hz.

Note: The low-pass filter cannot be turned off; it is always active.

Bass Boost: For added low frequency performance, this amplifier has a 0 to 12 dB variable bass boost centered at 45 Hz.

Subsonic Filter: The AP1000M features a built-in variable subsonic filter with a slope of 12dB/octave. The subsonic filter is continuously variable between 20-50Hz. This filter avoids the reproduction of inaudible low frequencies which could damage subwoofers because they can generate over-excursion of the subwoofer cone.

Note: The subsonic filter cannot be turned off; it is always active.

Phase Control: This amp is equipped with a continuously adjustable phase lag control on the subwoofer(s) from 0 to 180 degrees. This control helps to align the phase shift of a subwoofer for a smooth blending, without canceling the bass from other speakers or subwoofers.

Inputs and Outputs Notes

Gold-plated Terminals: The AP1000M features gold-plated speaker and power terminals and RCA jacks for maximum signal transfer and corrosion resistance.

Set Screw Terminals: The power and ground connections feature set-screw terminals that can accept up to 4-gauge bare wire. The remote turn-on and speaker output set-screw terminals can accept up to 6-gauge bare wire. Two Allen wrenches (2.5mm and 3mm) are supplied to tighten/loosen the set screws.

Remote Turn-on: In addition to turning on and turning off the amplifier via the head unit's remote output, the remote turn-on also operates the reset circuit for the amplifier's protection system. The remote turn-on lead must be connected to the head unit in order to reset the protection circuits.

Bass Remote: The amp has a female RJ-11 phone jack for plugging in the Bass Level Remote Control cable.
