Features
Power Strip:
This Profile California AP400 amplifier features a bright red power light strip
on the top center of the unit to indicate when the amp is turned on. The 2-3/8"
power light strip consists of three LEDs. The green LED on the power/speaker
terminal side of the amplifier will also light when power is sent to the amp.
High-to-Low Level
Converter: The amp is equipped with an external high (speaker) level to low
(line) level converter to allow you to connect the amplifier to a receiver or
factory radio without RCA preamp outputs. After splicing the receiver's speaker wires to the converter's speaker wires, you can simply plug the converter into the amp's RCA preamp input.
Line Outputs: The AP400
includes a pair of RCA line outputs for sending an unfiltered signal to another
amplifier or component without splitting the signal.
Protection
Circuits: This amp has three types of
protection circuits: DC offset, short circuit and thermal protection. The red
LED on the left side of the amplifier will light to indicate that the amplifier
has gone into protection.
Built-In Crossover: This
amplifier includes built-in variable high pass and low pass
filters, each with a slope of 12dB/octave. The low pass filter is continuously
variable from 50-250Hz, while the high-pass filter is continuously variable from
80Hz-1.2kHz. You can configure the amp for low-pass, full range, or high-pass
operation with the 3-way switch.
Inputs
and Outputs Notes
Gold-plated Terminals: The
AP400 features gold-plated speaker and power terminals and RCA jacks for maximum
signal transfer and corrosion resistance.
Set Screw Terminals: The power,
ground, remote turn-on, and speaker output connections feature set-screw
terminals that can accept up to 6-gauge bare wire. A 2.5mm Allen wrench is
supplied to tighten/loosen the set screws.
Remote Turn-on: In addition to
turning on and turning off the amplifier via the head unit's remote output, the
remote turn-on also operates the reset circuit for the amplifier's protection
system. The remote turn-on lead must be connected to the head unit in order to
reset the protection circuits.
