Want big bass? Look at our Subwoofers Power, control, versatility, and a great price. You'll get all of that with Profile's California series AP700M mono subwoofer amp. It's a great choice for driving a sub or two, delivering up to 350 watts of power.

You won't find this level of control in another amp in this price range. It starts with a handy remote-mount bass control — just mount the control in a convenient spot and adjust the level from your driver's seat. A variable bass boost for dials in just the right amount of bump, and an adjustable phase control ensures that the bass will blend properly with the rest of your system.

Profile's even included a variable subsonic filter that eliminates reproduction of inaudible, power-wasting frequencies. Thanks to the speaker-level inputs, the AP700M hooks up easily to a factory stereo. The preamp outputs let you send signal to a second amp.

Versatile hook-up options, plenty of power, lots of control, and a price that's easy on the wallet. Profile's California series amps cover all the bases.

My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

Inputs and Outputs Notes
Warranty Note

Power Strip: This Profile California AP700M amplifier features a bright red power light strip on the top center of the unit to indicate when the amp is turned on. The 4" power light strip consists of 5 LEDs. The green LED on the power/speaker terminal side of the amplifier will also light when power is sent to the amp.

Bass Level Remote Control: This amp is equipped with a wired remote control that allows you to adjust the level of the amplifier. The remote is designed to be mounted under the dash to allow control from the driver's seat. Dimensions: Width=1.585" (2.566" including mounting tabs), Height=0.75", Depth=1.368" (1.758" including knob), Cable length=16'.

High-to-Low Level Converter: The amp is equipped with an external high (speaker) level to low (line) level converter to allow you to connect the amplifier to a receiver or factory radio without RCA preamp outputs. After splicing the receiver's speaker wires to the converter's speaker wires, you can simply plug the converter into the amp's RCA preamp input.

Line Outputs: The AP700M includes a pair of RCA line outputs for sending an unfiltered signal to another amplifier or component without splitting the signal.

Protection Circuits: This amp has three types of protection circuits: DC offset, short circuit and thermal protection. The red LED on the right side of the amplifier will light to indicate that the amplifier has gone into protection.

Built-In Crossover: This amplifier includes a built-in variable low pass filter with a slope of 12dB/octave. The low pass filter is continuously variable from 50-250Hz.

Note: The low-pass filter cannot be turned off; it is always active.

Bass Boost: For added low frequency performance, this amplifier has a 0 to 12 dB variable bass boost centered at 45 Hz.

Subsonic Filter: The AP700M features a built-in variable subsonic filter with a slope of 12dB/octave. The subsonic filter is continuously variable between 20-50Hz. This filter avoids the reproduction of inaudible low frequencies which could damage subwoofers because they can generate over-excursion of the subwoofer cone.

Note: The subsonic filter cannot be turned off; it is always active.

Phase Control: This amp is equipped with a continuously adjustable phase lag control on the subwoofer(s) from 0 to 180 degrees. This control helps to align the phase shift of a subwoofer for a smooth blending, without canceling the bass from other speakers or subwoofers.

Inputs and Outputs Notes

Gold-plated Terminals: The AP700M features gold-plated speaker and power terminals and RCA jacks for maximum signal transfer and corrosion resistance.

Set Screw Terminals: The power and ground connections feature set-screw terminals that can accept up to 4-gauge bare wire. The remote turn-on and speaker output set-screw terminals can accept up to 6-gauge bare wire. Two Allen wrenches (2.5mm and 3mm) are supplied to tighten/loosen the set screws.

Remote Turn-on: In addition to turning on and turning off the amplifier via the head unit's remote output, the remote turn-on also operates the reset circuit for the amplifier's protection system. The remote turn-on lead must be connected to the head unit in order to reset the protection circuits.

Bass Remote: The amp has a female RJ-11 phone jack for plugging in the Bass Level Remote Control cable.

Warranty Note

Warranty: The manual indicates a 1-year parts and labor warranty, however Profile has extended the warranty to three years parts and labor for units purchased from Crutchfield.

Great Amp

Written By Walt, New Orleans on Sunday, December 14, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I hooked this amp up to a DVC 4 Ohm 15" Kicker Comp VR with a bandpass box...paralled the wires to bring it down to 2 Ohm, so I'm getting the 350 RMS...hits pretty hard...amp was very easy to install...the red stripe on the front of the amp is kind of cheesey though...it's in sections, so it's not even and has small gaps between the segments. The blue light on the bass knob is pretty bright but I love having control of how hard I want the BUMP at my fingertips... I'm still tinkering w/ all of the controls on the amp to try and get it just right...look at me...I just purchased this amp and I'm now looking at the AP1000M...that just shows the confidence I have in Profile in producing the quality power I'm wanting...GOOD JOB PROFILE & CRUTCHFIELD

Amazing amp for the money!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This has been a great amp for the money! Low cost and high quality are usually two things that don't go together in the car audio world, but this amp fits the bill! The remote bass control is a great little feature, but as others have said the blue LED on it is way too bright. I mounted mine inside my ash tray so it is rarely seen.

The amp is also the exact same size as the 740 model I ordered to run my mids, so they are a perfect match sitting side by side.

I am pushing a single 10" Infinity Referance sub with this amp and it rocks!

Amp runs cool and clean. I not seen or heard any problems with it personaly.

This and the 740 were the first Profile amps I bought, and I was at first leary of the low cost, but I am sold. I will buy Profile amps again!

The 3 year warrenty offered when buying through Crutchfield is a great bonus!

I bought this amp to power two 150 rms 10 inch subs. It works great! I
also LOVE the 3 YEAR warranty! In this climate it was a no brainer. Highly
recommend again and again.

Profile AP700M

Written By James, SF, CA on Monday, January 08, 2007

When i first got this amp, I wasn't too impressed. The general impression i got was that it looked kind of cheap. The light strip at the top was misaligned, and the amp itself was pretty plain. This did not really bother me because it was going to be under the passenger seat where nobody could get a good look at it. Make sure you take into consideration how bright the LED on the remote is before you mount it. (It blinds me when i look straight at it.)

That said, it performs very well. I have it hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate P210S4 (single 10") and it delivers all the power that this sub needs. It won't crack the pavement under your car, but it has a good bump to it. There are several useful adjustments on it that allow you to get the sound that you like. The wired remote is very useful for when you just want to crank the volume and feel the bass. My head unit has adjustments on it for the subwoofer too, so my sound options are even more varied. Also, the light strip adds a cool red glow to the floor of my car at night, and the blue LED on the remote adds a cool blue glow to the top of my car.

All in all, I would advise anyone to purchase this amp. Profile did an excellent job creating a low-cost yet quality amp. With the included three-year warranty, what more could you ask for?

Amp: Profile AP700M
Sub: Thunder4500 T4512-04 12" 4-ohm subwoofer
Box: Q-Logic QLH-12S100 sealed subwoofer box

There are many settings with this amp. I set the gain on 1/3, Bass boost on 2/3, Low at 65hz and left the Subsonic/Phase as is. I didn't use the bass remote because I can adjust it with the deck's subwoofer setting.

It's a great amp for the price. The look is "ok"

Profile amps perform, why pay more

This is my second profile amp. This one is in my Ram pickup, for lack of space I have it driving one 12" Infinity Perfect in a 1 cu ft box and it slams low and clean. I have the factory Infinity CD player with upgraded speakers. The amp adjustments allow all the tuning I need to blend in perfectly with my deck. The remote is a very nice feature, I painted a black dot over the tip of the super bright LED, and it hides into the cup holder panel when it closes. I have received many complements on the sound of both vehicles with these amps. Oh, and a 3 year warranty, I'm sold on these amps.

its loud

Written By no, aurora,co on Wednesday, September 06, 2006

okay i never really had a sytem for myslef and so when i got my new car a 96' maxima i right away put a panisonic deck with the amp pushing my dual 10' mtx tc 4500's and when it was hooked up this was probably one of the best sounding systems i heard its so clear and loud and this amp is the reason why. but it seems to get hot fairly fast so that is one of my concerns but overall awsome system

I have this thing pushing 1 12inch alpine type r 1242d.

this thing is nice! i have the sub wired at 2 ohms so its pushing 350watts to it!

i get many compliments on how such a relatively small system sounds.

the remote is nice because sometimes u just want it off and u can easily turn it all the way down for a normal sound.

btw im in a 98 audi a6.

Good amp!

I put two Profile Amps in my 1977 F-100 truck, and they sound great!! One is the 400 watt 2 channel amp, and it has all the features you'd want; high and low pass filters with frequency adjustments, gain, etc. It is powering two JBL GT speakers in the doors, and the AP 700M is pushing two Xplod subs wired parallel. The amp gets warm, but takes a while. I love it, it sounds great; hard rock and 4-wheeling are made for each other!!

Great Value

I just put this amp in my Acura Legend today, and I must say that I am very impressed. I have it pushing two kicker comp 10" subs mounted in a free air setup. They sound great. Don't be fooled by the low price, this is a quality amp. The only thing that I don't like is the super bright LED on the remote. Other than that, everything is great!

too much finesse required for my system...

Written By Andy, NOVA on Monday, February 27, 2006

Nice amp - the remote is bright (so I installed it under the middle of the front seats so at night I have a cool blue glow on the floor.. haha ghetto right?) so heed those warnings in these reviews, and the power and features are nice and cover most needed fixings. My only problem is that it requires a lot of testing and finding the perfect settings. My head unit has sub level control and low-pass x-over, and then on the amp has the gain, the bass boost (0-12 db at 45 hz), the subsonic filter, phase control (which purpose hasnt ever been explained well to me), and then the remote. I have way too many options. The nice thing about having too many, is that I can make it just the way I want it. "'Tis better to have, than to have not." The amp I replaced was great, but not a mono sub amp. It sounded fine, but I couldnt have tweaked it the way I can with this one. So if youre looking for a great priced sub amp, its a good buy, but be ready to put some work into the details. And unless youve got a 4-ohm dvc driver, and/or one that has 2-ohm capable, dont bother. You can find something cheaper with 220 watts.

Great amp at an a great price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm using this amp to run a Kicker VS10L5 (10" SoloBaric L5 in a Kicker made box) and it makes the subwoofer slam. I have the gain turned up maybe 1/3 of the way and it really pushes the sub. The remote bass boost is an excellent way to "turn up the bass or turn it down." The only issue is, as other have already stated, is the BRIGHT blue light from the remote bass boost. I have it installed behind the CD compartment in my 2005 Scion xB so I don't see it. Other than that I would definitely recommend this amp to anyone needing 300 to 400 watts (at 2 Ohms).

I recently bought the AP700M. I hooked it up to a Infinity Perfect 10.1 DVC, and put it in my 2001 Sebring. I was amazed at the quality and sound that this combination produced. I thought this amp was nice and healthy, and the best part was the price. This amp is the way to go, but like all the other reviews said, the led light on the remote knob is VERY bright!

Big bang for your buck

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great amp for the price. You won't be dissapointed with this amp unless you are used to running $1000 amps. I bought this amp with a 12" MTX sub and put it in a 2004 Mustang. I thought that the amp was kinda big though. I have a 900 watt Fosgate amp that is smaller. Other than that, I am very happy with the amp. It has plenty of power. The sub is a single voice coil 4 ohm, I am sure that I would get alot more out of the amp if I get a DVC sub and run at 2 ohms. The amp has lots of feature that most amps in the same price range don't have. The remote bass control was a definate plus for me but like the others have said the blue led light on it is WAY to bright! You could probably pick up a different controller for it though. If you are looking for a good amp with lots of features and you are on a tight budget you should consider this amp. Don't be fooled by the price, this amp can definately compete with big name amps of equal power.

This is a great amp for someone on a budget. My only complaint is that the LED on the remote bass knob is really bright and annoying if mounted in the wrong place.

Review #2 of 2

Written By seth, bayside CA on Tuesday, June 14, 2005

I think that this amp fit in my expectation range exactly...it is loud, gave enough power to my sub, cheap, and lots of features. the THD is less than .05% which was .02% less than the BAJA amp with aroudn the same wattage...i also liked the LED on top and the remote bass knob. The bass knob..thats a whole new story. The Blue LED on the knob is VERY bright.VERY bright.I attached it under my dash and was forced to point it down just a little.you cant drive with that blue LED in your eyes! The knob was easy to attach and small enough to mount anywhere pretty much. The knob was kinda weird in that almost all of the bass boost was within the first 1/3 of the dial turn. Maybe its supposed to be like that..but I dunno..it works, looks cool, adds some blue flavor to your intiereior, and is removable if you want.
One feature that this amp does not have that I wish it did, is the Quiet Turn On that some other amps have. When you put a new cd in.or turn on your head unit, the sub makes a thump noise.just kinda annoying and I read somewhere it can hurt you sub..whatever.
Overall I am VERY satisfied with this amp.it was cheap..and powers my sub perfectly..low THD and decent looks with LEDs..(im a big fan of LEDs). I cant ask for much more for less than 100 bucks. Yes my sub does distort when turned up ¾ of the way up.this could very well be my sub though..not sure.. I have a pioneer deh p3500 and I turned the subsonic filter up to get rid of some of the lows that distort.overall im very satisfied.

dont know why, but lately, the sub as been distorting more than usual...

I was looking for a decent amp that was really cheap with lots of features...i found one. Off this amp i run a 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch P2 sub. The sub runs off 200 watts RMS and 400 watts MAX. I have it in a 1.25 cubic foot sealed box (yes i know its a little big)...cheap..new..had to get it. I put it in the back seat of my 1991 toyota xtra cab pickup. I have the amp tucked away under my passenger seat.
Anyways, first impressions of this amp were very good...i liked the looks when i took it out of the box. Nothing flashy..but i didnt mind...just a solid amp. The red LED strip on the top of the amp looked just kinda cheap. The amp had many features..which you can find where you buy it. I put the amp in myself and when it was all ready, i turned the key on and was very impressed with teh red LEDs on top...you could no longer tell they were somewhat cheap at all. If you mount this amp somewhere in the open, it will produce a red light pretty bright all over. I was just a little worried when no sound was coming out out of my speaker! I just turned the gain up a little and there it was for sure.
I am a big car audio enthusiast, but i am not one to compete...i just wanted high quality sound in my car therefore i didnt have TOO high of expectations.
