Features
Power Strip:
This Profile California AP700M amplifier features a bright red power light
strip on the top center of the unit to indicate when the amp is turned on. The
4" power light strip consists of 5 LEDs. The green LED on the
power/speaker terminal side of the amplifier will also light when power is sent
to the amp.
Bass Level Remote Control: This
amp is equipped with a wired remote control that allows you to adjust the level
of the amplifier. The remote is designed to be mounted under the dash to allow
control from the driver's seat. Dimensions: Width=1.585" (2.566" including
mounting tabs), Height=0.75", Depth=1.368" (1.758" including knob), Cable
length=16'.
High-to-Low Level
Converter: The amp is equipped with an external high (speaker) level to low
(line) level converter to allow you to connect the amplifier to a receiver or
factory radio without RCA preamp outputs. After splicing the receiver's speaker
wires to the converter's speaker wires, you can simply plug the converter into
the amp's RCA preamp input.
Line Outputs: The AP700M
includes a pair of RCA line outputs for sending an unfiltered signal to another
amplifier or component without splitting the signal.
Protection
Circuits: This amp has three types of
protection circuits: DC offset, short circuit and thermal protection. The red
LED on the right side of the amplifier will light to indicate that the amplifier
has gone into protection.
Built-In Crossover: This
amplifier includes a built-in variable low pass filter with a slope of
12dB/octave. The low pass filter is continuously variable from 50-250Hz.
Note: The low-pass
filter cannot be turned off; it is always active.
Bass Boost: For added low
frequency performance, this amplifier has a 0 to 12 dB variable bass boost
centered at 45 Hz.
Subsonic Filter: The AP700M
features a built-in variable subsonic filter with a slope of 12dB/octave. The
subsonic filter is continuously variable between 20-50Hz. This filter avoids the
reproduction of inaudible low frequencies which could damage subwoofers because
they can generate over-excursion of the subwoofer cone.
Note: The subsonic
filter cannot be turned off; it is always active.
Phase Control: This amp is
equipped with a continuously adjustable phase lag control on the subwoofer(s)
from 0 to 180 degrees. This control helps to align the phase shift of a
subwoofer for a smooth blending, without canceling the bass from other speakers
or subwoofers.
Inputs and Outputs Notes
Gold-plated Terminals: The
AP700M features gold-plated speaker and power terminals and RCA jacks for
maximum signal transfer and corrosion resistance.
Set Screw Terminals: The power
and ground connections feature set-screw terminals that can accept up to 4-gauge
bare wire. The remote turn-on and speaker output set-screw terminals can accept
up to 6-gauge bare wire. Two Allen wrenches (2.5mm and 3mm) are supplied to
tighten/loosen the set screws.
Remote Turn-on: In addition to
turning on and turning off the amplifier via the head unit's remote output, the
remote turn-on also operates the reset circuit for the amplifier's protection
system. The remote turn-on lead must be connected to the head unit in order to
reset the protection circuits.
Bass Remote: The amp has a
female RJ-11 phone jack for plugging in the Bass Level Remote Control cable.
Warranty Note
Warranty:
The manual indicates a 1-year parts and labor warranty,
however Profile has extended the warranty to three years
parts and labor for units purchased from Crutchfield.
