Construction: The Bell'O AVSC-2155 is constructed of finely crafted real wood in a beautiful espresso finish with black tempered safety glass shelves.

Shelving: The Bell'O AVSC-2155 features three fixed black tempered safety glass shelves. The top shelf is designed to accommodate your flat panel television, while the hanging middle shelf is perfect for your center-channel speaker, and the bottom shelf can support your audio/video components.

Top TV Shelf: The top shelf measures 60" (w) x 18" (d), and places your television 22" off the floor. The top shelf can support flat-panel TVs up to 65" or 125 lbs.
Hanging Middle Shelf: The hanging middle shelf measures 36" (w) x 8.875" (h) x 16" (d); and can support up to 25 lbs. Its perfect for center-channel speaker or an additional audio/video component.

Planning for housing various components inside cabinet. Please provide internal dimensions - what are the internal dimensions for example spacial area(s) between sides, shelves, bottom shelf and underside of top? Hope this makes sense.

The hanging shelf has a usable area of 31-7/8"w x 8-7/8"h x 16"d. The height of the space below it is 9-5/8". The depth of the bottom shelf is 17". The width of the space to the sides of the hanging shelf is 8-7/8" and the height of that area is 18-1/2"

Is this real wood? I would like to stain it black to have it match my setup but if not I can buy vinyl.

You'll be surprised to know that is not. It seem to be made with Aluminum or some kind of metal. The sides are hollow and light. I was skeptical while installing it (super easy though, I think that's where the engineering money is), My concern was vibration since I have a TSi CS10, TSi 400s, and the subwoofer next to it. And for my Surprised is solid as a rock and absorbs vibration, No echo or bouncy wave coming form it. Now as to be painted, I'm sure it can be painted. Hope this helps. Regards, Hector Laureano

Is the back panel required for assembly? This stand is nearly perfect, but isn't quite deep enough to accommodate my amplifier. Removing the back panel might work, but is that advisable?

The back panel is required for support. My Sony amp fits but I couldn't use my CD and DVD changers with it cause they are too deep.

All the metal is relatively shiny. All the black parts are pretty shiny.

I would call the black metal parts satin finish. Most of the black is glass and the only metal parts that show are the pipes supporting the center shelf. This is a great unit. It looks the business in person.

You can use a center channel speaker that's at least nine and a half inches high. This stand has the largest space for a center channel speaker that I found. The material is top notch. Very high quality.

The shelf is about 10 1/8 inches above the bottom shelf with about 8 3/4 inches to the tube frame that supports the glass top. It's actually a lot bigger than I was expecting and looks and works great!

Overall Dimensions: 60"W x 22"H x 18"D Usable Top Shelf: 60"W x 18"D Usable Hanging Shelf: 31-7/8"W x 8-7/8"H x 16"D Usable Bottom Shelf: 53-1/2"W x 9-5/8"H x 17"D So...just over 8". Clearance issues with a B&W HTM1 don't allow me to use the hanging shelf.

there is 9 7/8 inches under the center shelf and 8 3/4 inches above the center shelve. the center shelf holds my surround sound center speaker without problems.
