Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the money you would expect a very well made and very well crafted piece of hardware. After all, there are no mechanical or electrical parts in this item. But to my surprise hey weren't. Both my original and replacement units had very visible scratches as well as dents that practically made the unit useless. For example, the plate where the speaker is placed is supposed to be as flat as possible so that the speaker moves as little as possible to reduce unwanted vibrations while the speaker is in use. But both times I received the units, one of the stands had a plate which wasn't even close to flat, which made my speaker "dance" a little when placed on top of it. You can verify this by placing the speaker stand upside down on the floor and noticing that it doesn't stand still. It wobbles from side to side. This is the whole point of a speaker stand, and it's not even doing that right.

Then there are the scratches. Both times I received the stands, when I opened the packaged, I was greeted by parts of the stand that weren't secured properly and thus scratched other parts of the package. Creating very visible marks that I now had to correct using a black Sharpie. Now, all this would be OK if one paid $10 for a pair of cheap speaker stands. But we're talking about $$$ here, that's completely unacceptable. And it happened two straight times. So beware when purchasing. Again, this is not Crutchfield's fault. This is on Bell'O.

Pros: Nice looking.

Cons: Poor QA from the manufacturer. Scratches and dents.
