Precise control

My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. I needed a quality budget 5 channel amp with these exact power specs to replace the aged sound system in my 2001 Maxima. This amp's specs were perfect for my need, and it was $100 off as well. What was strange was the lack of reviews of this device anywhere on the web, but it doesn't matter. What makes all the difference is pure, clean sound!!

Great performance and looks

Pros: Easy to hookup

Cons: The instructions had no info to help with the setting. There was no sub woofer out until I called to get typical setting because all setting were at min positions.

This amp performs extremely well with my Ford F150. 5-1/4" polk audio components in the front doors, and stock speakers in rear. A 12" diamond audio custom fit sub under rear seat. Huge amounts of power and clean sound. With several adjustments, must be fine tuned appropriately. The remote bass control is a touch bulky and the blue led light on it is very bright, so plan accordingly when mounting it. For the price, this will not disappoint.

Cons: very large, make sure it will fit.....

I bought this amp because i had a smaller lighting amp which performed well. I had it installed for 3 weeks and I am very plrsease. I have 2 ,6-9 and 2, 51/2 door speakers 2, 12inch mtx terminator. I was extremely impress with the power and sound. I have afriend that has a similar setup but with 2- 12inch punch and 1000 watt amp, he spent more money with a third of the sound. he was very dissapointed with his sound after listening to mine.

Gain: The front, rear, and subwoofer amps have independent rotary gain controls adjustable from 200mV to 5V.

Bass Boost: The bass boost is adjustable using a rotary dial; 0 to +12 dB, centered at 45 Hz.

Crossover: The front, rear, and subwoofer amps are equipped with independent crossovers:

  • Front: switchable between full range and high-pass; crossover point variable from 10 to 150 Hz, 12 dB/octave slope
  • Rear: switchable between full range and high-pass; crossover point variable from 10 to 150 Hz, 12 dB/octave slope
  • Subwoofer: low-pass; crossover point variable from 30 to 150 Hz, 12 dB/octave slope; this being the subwoofer part of the amp, the crossover is always engaged

Subsonic Filter: The subsonic filter is variable from 15 to 55 Hz. Ultra-low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by a subwoofer do not become sound but become unnecessary oscillations, which affect sound by causing distortion. These frequencies also waste amplifier power and can cause damage to speakers. The Infrasonic filter removes frequencies below the setting, to improve the performance of the speakers by eliminating harmful distortion.

Input Mode: If the source unit has a dedicated line output for the subwoofer, set the Mode switch to CH5. If only using the amp's front and rear line inputs, set the Mode switch to CH4.

Wired Remote: An RJ-25 jack is provided for connecting the included wired remote, allowing remote control of the subwoofer amplifier from the front of the vehicle. The supplied 16' cable, with RJ-25 phone plugs at each end, connects the wired remote level control to the amplifier.

Note: The Remote Bass Control measures approximately 2-1/8" wide (2-7/8" including the mounting flange) x 1-1/4" high x 1-7/8" deep (2-1/2" deep including the knob and wiring).
