About the Lightning Audio L-2125
Harness the power of Lightning
Harness the power of Lightning
Lightning Audio's L-2125 2-channel amplifier can put out 40 watts RMS each to a pair of speakers — that's a lot more than the output of a typical car stereo — adding power and clarity to your music. For you bassheads, you can can bridge the L-2125 to mono mode to run a smaller subwoofer with 125 watts RMS.
Versatile connections and controls
This amp can take its input via RCA cables from an aftermarket receiver or from your vehicle's speaker wiring, so it can work with almost any vehicle's system. Gain control, high- and low-pass filters, and a bass boost let you adjust this amp to run your speakers or a sub with optimimum tone and efficiency.

Features
Overview: The Lightning Audio L-2125 is part of the LA series of amps are designed for moderately sized mobile audio systems. The L-2125 is a Class AB stereo amplifier that outputs 40 watts per channel RMS at 4 ohms, 65 watts per channel at 2 ohms, and 125 watts at 4 ohms bridged. It comes with a high-level input harness, an extra fuse, and mounting hardware.
Gain Control: The amplifier has a single gain control for matching the amp to the preamp output voltage of the connected head unit. The input sensitivity is variable from 150mV to 4V (low level) and 300mV to 8V (high level).
Crossover: The L-2125 is equipped with a variable 50Hz - 250 Hz Butterworth crossover with a 12dB per octave slope. A 3-way switch lets you select High Pass (HP), Low Pass (LP), or All Pass (AP). The crossover frequency control can be adjusted with a small screwdriver, and has markings at 50Hz, 75Hz, 100Hz, 175Hz, 225Hz, and 250Hz. The crossover sets the upper frequency limit of the amplifier output.
Bass Boost: The L-2125 includes a selectable bass boost control, which allows you to increase the bass response by 0dB, +6dB or +12dB. The bass boost is centered at 45Hz.
Pass-Thru Outputs: The L-2125 has RCA pass-thru outputs for daisy-chaining another amplifier using the input signal from the source unit. This prevents the need from running an extra set of RCA cables from the front of the vehicle to the second amplifier.
Connections: The Lightning Audio L-2125 features nickel-plated screw-down terminals for power and speaker connections. The screws can be tightened/loosened with a slotted or Phillips screwdriver (not included). The amp terminals are as follows:
- Power/Ground: The power and ground connections use screw terminals that are 1/2" wide, and accept up to 4-gauge wire. Based on the 25A fuse rating of the amplifier, a 10-gauge amplifier wiring kit is recommended. A 25A fuse should be placed on the power wire no more than 18" from the battery.
- Fuse: The amplifier has a 25A ATO (blade-type) fuse installed. A spare 25A fuse is included with the amp.
- Remote Turn-on: The screw terminal for the remote turn-on lead is 0.33" wide. You can use 18-gauge or 16-gauge wire for the turn-on lead.
- Speaker Terminals: Two pairs of screw terminals are provided, allowing you to connect a pair of speakers to the amplifier. The terminals are marked for left and right, and for bridging the amplifier. The screw terminals for the speakers are 0.33" in diameter, allowing you to use up to 10-gauge speaker wire.
- Line Level Input: One pair of stereo RCA jacks is provided for the input signal. These RCA jacks are mounted on the "control" side of the amplifier.
- Pass-Thru Output: One pair of stereo RCA jacks is provided for daisy-chaining a second amplifier without running an extra set of RCA cables from the front of the vehicle. These RCA jacks are mounted on the "control" side of the amplifier.
- High Level Input: A 4-pin Molex connector is provided for plugging in the supplied high level input harness. The harness allows you to connect a factory head unit, or an aftermarket stereo without RCA jacks. The source unit's speaker wires should be spliced to the high level input harness.
