Alpine

Our take on the Alpine CDE-122

PANDORA® Internet radio is a great way to enjoy music, and now you can play it in your car with Alpine's CDE-122 CD receiver. Once your iPhone's connected to the Alpine's USB input, you can select PANDORA® as a source and use the receiver's controls to navigate your stations. Dedicated "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" buttons let you rate songs on the fly so that PANDORA® knows what music to play for you. You can even create a PANDORA® station right on the CDE-122 when a song or artist you like is playing.

Play your other music, too
Got a lot of songs on your iPod? Find the one you want quickly with Alpine's Percentage Search — it lets you jump through your library using the radio preset buttons.

Of course, you can play all your CDs, plus discs you've loaded with MP3 files. You can also load your files on a USB thumb drive, then pop it in the front USB input. The front auxiliary input comes in handy for connecting a Dock & Play satellite radio or another portable player.

Boost the power, build a system
A set of preamp outputs provides a convenient connection for an amp or a powered sub, and you can use the subwoofer level control to dial in the right amount of bass. Then get your sound right using the 3-band parametric EQ, or choose from one of the six preset options. One more cool feature — this receiver works with Alpine's Power Pack, a compact box that hooks up easily to your receiver, boosting its power from 18 watts up to a serious 45 watts RMS per channel.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver or its optional iPod adapter.

I was looking to upgrade my factory stereo in my 2005 Toyota Tundra for better sound and integration with my iPhone. This deck delivers; great sound, amazing control of my music, Pandora radio ... This is more like an in dash computer! And with installation kit and simple, easy-to-follow directions, my installation was a snap!
Pros:
Amazing technology in a well designed, affordable, and easy-to-use package.
Cons:
No issues or concerns. Great stereo!

only took me about an hour to install. everything clicked into place. the deck is solid. the only thing bringing down the quality was the kit that is used to hold it in place. I like the extra space it has to put my Ipod on but the material is lacking in quality. everything worked well, I didn't even read the manual, it's as if i designed it and new how to operate it already.
Pros:
great upgrade to stock. easy ipod/android usage

I am glad that I bought it through crutchfield. I know I wouldn't have gotten it any cheaper or a better price also with free mounting accessories that comes with it. Thanks again.
Pros:
I sure like the alpine stereo which I told my daughter to get and she loves it.
Cons:
I don't like the roominess of installation to put in a Volkswagen beetle. Which I know it can improve of installing it in easier.

The radio was a replacement for the stock F150 radio that no longer played CDs. The sound quality is much improved, although I have not yet tried my Ipod. I don't use the Pandora function, but the radio and CD quality is great. The only issue I had during installation was finding a good chassis ground, the radio will not work without a good ground. It is mounted in a regular cab F-150, so there is not a very large space to fill with sound, and it does sound great! The price was very reasonable for a Alpine radio and I added my own Pioneer speakers and built my own speaker box to place behind the seat. I do not have an external amp, but I don't really need to blow out my windows, so I am happy with just the head unit.
Pros:
Reasonable price for an Alpine, great unit for a tight budget.
Cons:
Finding a good ground for the radio, the metal plate behind the stock radio is NOT a ground. I wasted a lot of time troubleshooting that problem. So, to save you some frustration, make sure you find a good ground.

I have purchased Alpine all my life. I recent purchased the Alpine CDE-122 to replace a factory unit. My factory unit had poor sound quality to say the least. I love my new unit, the power, crisp sound quailty, and the ability to use pandora, mp3 awsome. Dont waste you money saving a few bucks with sub par car stereos (Alpine is the best of the best and has been for years) Alpine is the only way to go!!!!!!!!!!
Pros:
Sound quality, Power, MP3, USB, has everything you need to run a nice middle level sound system.
Cons:
I wish this unit had 4volt sub preouts, but is avalible on upgraded units.

Very easy to install and fits perfectly to my 1999 sienna van. I like most the pandora features, and the USB port for my iphone connection.
