Talk hands-free, plus stream music with Bluetooth®
Other devices may come and go, but one thing's for sure — you never leave home without your phone. The Alpine CDE-133BT CD receiver lets you talk hands-free, plus stream music from a compatible phone, all without messy wires.

Advanced Bluetooth features
Have you ever tried to talk to someone, but been unable to understand them because their in-car Bluetooth just didn't cut it? Your callers will hear you loud and clear with the CDE-133BT fielding your calls. First, you can mount the included microphone somewhere in front of you so it'll have no problem picking up your voice. Next, the receiver lets you adjust the mic's gain to best match your speaking voice. You can also tweak the phone output and ring volume, so you won't go diving for the volume knob every time someone calls.

When a call comes in, you'll see your caller's phone number on the screen. You can answer the call by tapping the CDE-133BT's phone button, or set up the receiver to answer all calls automatically. If someone else calls in, just tap the "2" key to activate call waiting.

Stream your tunes, too
If your phone or another device supports Bluetooth music streaming, you can beam your tunes and control playback with the CDE-133BT. Alpine's Sound Expansion technology helps your streaming tunes sound their best.

Great for your iPod® and iPhone®
You can use the CDE-133BT's controls to navigate your iPod's music library, thanks to a convenient front-panel USB input. The person riding shotgun will love Passenger Control Mode, which lets them play DJ while you focus on driving. And let's not forget about what made Alpine famous in the first place — great sound quality. You can adjust your sound to taste with one of the ten equalizer presets or by using the 3-band parametric EQ.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Alpine stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the Alpine, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

iPod note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver or its optional iPod adapter.

Note: Sorry, Crutchfield cannot ship Alpine products to Guam or Puerto Rico.

Easy to operate. Great aftermarket bluetooth. So far so good.

Alpine CDE-133 BT not all it seemed to be...

    Maureen from Texas on 1/13/2016

On first appearances, it seemed to be typical Alpine quality that would not disappoint. After owning it for a few months, the problems started. First, in a 2005 Honda Civic, the dash is angled so that the display on this unit was not visible except after the sun had set or if you happened to be in a parking garage or tunnel. Second, the bluetooth connectivity was a hit or miss. The unit would sometimes not connect to my phone at all. The only way to remedy this problem was to completely shut the car off, remove the ignition key and restart the car. This was a very annoying problem with this unit. I contacted Alpine support and Crutchfield about this and both places told me that there was not a fix for the problem. Third, about 3 years into ownership of this unit, the CD player began to malfunction. The disc would not eject and also would not load and play while in the unit. I have since learned that the transport mechanism on the CDE-133BT is a common failure point. I have owned several Alpine head units and this one, by far, has been the most disappointing.

Pros: Nice sound Easy to use

Cons: Display hard to see in daylight conditions. Poor connectivity using bluetooth. CD player malfunctioned after 3 years.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The first week was wonderful. I bought this unit for the bluetooth technology. It worked great for the first week. i struggled for months thinking it was my phone not the unit. It would some times connect it would pause during playback for no reason. then I got an i Phone, It would not connect at all. I contacted Alpine and they told me to install the firmware update. That was a challenge in itself. The unit would not connect with my computer. When I finally got it to connect it took about twenty minutes to finally get the update to push. After the update it stuck in the firmware updated do not touch any button for 30 minutes. When it finally told me to touch any button when I tried to check the update the bluetooth would not work at all. Now I have to buy a new unit, This unit does not work well with the i phone at all.

    Love it

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this unit to replace my factory radio in my 99 Wrangler. I wasn't looking to break the bank with my purchase. Just wanted a unit to integrate with my iPhone. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. This was my first purchase from Crutchfield, but it definitely won't be my last. Installation instructions made this a breeze. Looks good and great sound quality.

Pros: I like the look and sound of the unit. easy to use. USB, AUX, and bluetooth connectivity gives you every option you need to integrate your smartphone or music player. Overly impressed with Crutchfield instructions. Purchase came with all parts I needed for the install and easy to follow installation guide specifically tailored to my Jeep.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great sounding deck. I replaced the stock deck on an '05 Honda Accord. Even with the stock speakers it sounded great right off the bat and was a huge improvement over the stock deck. I have not used the Blue Tooth features yet because I just don't have a reason. I bought this deck to run an iPod in the car easily. The controls for the iPod are a little complicated and not easy while driving without looking away from the road. I typically have the iPod mounted on the dash and control the selections etc right from the iPod itself.

Pros: Ease of install and use, great sound, good controls of equalizer etc

Cons: complicated buttons for iPod control.

I have always wanted to use Cruchfield and have never had the opportunity, as I tend to prefer the "Factory look." I bought a jeep and wanted to upgrade stereos for sound quality and the hands free capibility, and I do not think I could have chosen a better stereo. Thanks!

Pros: Install was easy. Directions were great. Not too sure how it could have been simpler.

Cons: I cannot think of any.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently installed this unit in a 2003 honda pilot. The install was easy. The harness adapter from Crutchfield really made things easy. I was able to sort out all the wires and make the connections in the comfort of my kitchen. The install kit fits great and the instructions were superb The unit works great - the bluetooth connects with my iphone 3 even if I don't have it unlocked. I like the controls - they are easy to use. I bought a Metra ASWC with the unit so my steering wheel controls work with the new head unit. My only regret is the backlight on the unit is blue. My pilot dash is a green back light. I ams so happy with everything else I let the blue color remind me of the ocean.

Pros: excellent bluetooth, easy controls, easy install, great value

Cons: Blue is the only back light color -

    2005 Ford Mustang
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product works well with iPod and iPhone. Seamless actually. Sounds better than the factory shaker 500 it replaced. There were a couple of installation caveats however. The 12v to 5v voltage changer so you don't get a loud POP when the amps turn on is not fully effective. I tried with and without the additional part. Much better with, but not gone. You still hear it. However, this could be because I only purchased one, and the mustang has two blue/white wires, the wiring harness I bought has one. I connected the two blue/white leads together into the voltage adapter, then the adapter to the one blue/white lead from the radio. Maybe I'm overpowering the adapter, and need to put each blue white lead from mustang through its own voltage adapter then combine the to leads after the adapter in a connection with the one from the radio. The other thing to note is that the the generic single din plus pocket, which fits the mustang perfectly, is not made for this radio. The collar attachment does not fit over the radio, its too small. The other attachments that go longitudinally do not fit with this radio either. So the radio at this point is not attached soundly to the car, but fit snugly enough its not an immediate problem. Probably just add a few shims and get it a bit tighter. All in all, nice radio, hands free operation of iPhone, including voice calling. iPod control from the deck. Easy Bluetooth connections. Does all of it with minimal setup.

Pros: Nice features, good price, easy set up. Hands-free works well. Nice sounding system, easy control of iPod library.

Cons: Not a ford factory original, so a few installation issues. Nothing that cannot be overcome.

    2008 Honda Element LX
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation in my 2008 Honda Element was a snap with the included free supplies. I ended up soldering and heat shrinking the adapter cables and cut down the length from the provided pigtails. Note that my unit did not have the ability to change the faceplate display colors as advertised by Alpine. Also, read the fine print as you can only use 1 bluetooth device at a time with this unit. I have an ipod touch and a blue tooth phone and I have to clear each device and register the opposite one which is a pain. So I'm back to the ipod usb cable when I want to connect the phone via bluetooth. Otherwise I'm pretty happy.

Pros: Cool radio with lots of functionality and good sound. Easy install with Crutchfiled's free goodies.

Cons: Display is fixed blue and only 1 bluetooth device can be used at a time. Pairing & unpairing might be an issue for some..

The direct iphone hook-up is really cool not to mention the Bluetooth works very well, actually better than my earpiece as far as sound quality. I love the sound this unit puts out. This is not my daily commuting vehicle so I usually only listen during weekends. The Bluetooth is excellent and I use the USB port on the front almost exclusively. My only dislike is that by replacing my stock unit, I lost the clock on the display. You can have the clock displayed but then you lose the ability to see the song title and or artist at the same time. The buttons are also small and almost hidden so I have to take my eyes off the road to adjust.

Pros: Great sound. Easy to use.

Cons: Display will not show time as well as artist info at the same time Small buttons

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this myself as a factory upgrade for my 1989 Grand Wagoneer. The square MODE button compliments the square styling of the interior. Easy to install - all the wire colors matched up with the wiring harness provided by Crutchfield. Easy to operate. User interface is intuitive. I have not needed to refer to the manual once - not even to set the clock. Factory EQ settings are all that are needed for my basic speakers. Lots of bang for the buck here. Best of all - it sounds great.

Pros: Intuitive interface. Front USB. Classic square buttons.

Cons: Blue lights are too modern for vintage vehicles. Plastic front.

Cons: Bluetooth issues which I hope I will figure out, but there is always the aux input to use!! I had a JVC B4 that had bluetooth issues also, but the sound from the Alpine is just soooooo much better than the JVC, it almost doesn't matter to me!!!!!!!!!

HandsFree from Frisco, CO on 2/5/2013

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation took longer than expected. The generic connector that looked like the one in my car was a completely different beast. If you have to force it in, you have the same problem, plus the wires don't go to the same place. Had to start from scratch, but the colors lined up perfectly with my 2001 astro van. Large display is easy to read at a glance, the sound quality is better and louder than the aftermarket POS it replaced using stock speakers. Bluetooth hands free connection with my droid 2 phone is effortless. Positioned the mic between the steering column and dashboard, pointing right at my mouth. Calls are crystal clear. Use with my XM radio and aux in. Have not tried with ifruit or usb flash drive, but sure it will "rock, roll, rhythm and blues" (actual names of XM's 4 satellites, BTW)

    Pros: Everything

Cons: Dashboard lights dimmer does not control this unit, even though the wire is connected.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall a very good buy dollar wise, but I want to mention a few issues to those that may consider purchasing this unit. Display color cannot be changed, repeat, cannot be changed. You're stuck with bright blue and the other lights in my car are unfortunately green. You have to do some wire splicing and I did not expect this because I bought a unit and installation kit specifically for my car and expected to plug and play. Rather than just twisting wires together and taping them, I soldered them and used heat shrink tubing over the soldered connections. There are a few wires left over which makes one wonder what they do and if they should be used. Final issue is that the Alpine unit will not allow changing artists or songs from streaming blue tooth audio from iphone. A user will need to change artists or songs manually from the Iphone when streaming audio.

Pros: Sounds good and blue tooth phone works good. Crutchfield staff good.

Cons: Stuck with blue display color. You have to splice wires as the wiring kits are generic and not vehicle specific. Can't change artists or songs through Alpine unit when streaming audio from iphone in bluetooth mode. Must be done manually from Ipone.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield recomended this product to me and it has been a success. I own an old explorer that I use quite a bit for various things, however it isn't my everyday driver. I got used to hands free calling and using my iphone for music in my other vehicles so I wanted the same features in the explorer. Surprisingly everything works as advertised. The hands free calling even works great. Everyone I talk to seems to be able to hear me just fine with no interference (had to adjust the mic gain). The iphone operation is pretty easy to use as well. The only flaw is the size of the buttons, but there isn't much you can do about that considering the size of they have to work with. I still haven't figured out how to connect my music through bluetooth but I really haven't had the need for it. I rather plug it into the usb and keep my phone charged anyway.

Pros: Hands free calling works well pretty simple to operate functions on iphone for music.

Cons: size of buttons Wish it came with a remote that had the functions of an ipod so you could operate the music without taking your eyes off the road.

Unfortunately, when I first turned on the ignition after the device was installed, the CD player made a strange clicking noise, like there was something in there. I called support and they shipped out a replacement unit that day, and it arrived 2 days later. This unit replaced another Alpine that I bought from Crutchfield in 2006. There was nothing wrong with it. I just wanted the modern features like Bluetooth and a USB port. For the price this is a great unit. I've used the hands-free calling. Used a USB thumbdrive in it. Played Pandora from my smartphone on it. Everything works great, and this unit has as much power as the Alpine I bought in 2006 for $350.

Pros: Plenty of power and features for the money.

I bought a more expensive car radio but was VERY disappointed. I was not disappointed by Crutchfield's service. The more expensive unit was difficult to use and finally started resetting by itself after a few months. The alpine 133bt was over $100 cheaper but it has delivered reliable service. This unit works as it should. The radio allows scan to station and tune to a specific frequency. I don't need an external controller to tune the radio to a specific frequency. I only use the radio and USB input and have no comment about the bluetooth, and cd drive, The USB device has some restrictions on number of folders and number of files but nothing that you can't easily resolve

Everything is great. Let me start off with Crutchfield before I rate the Alpine CDE-133BT. I ordered this item from Alpine on a Tuesday. The system said the deck was out of stock. I received the deck on Wednesday. Installed it on Saturday. everything necessary to install it was their. So I have to thank Crutchfield for outstanding service and price. The deck installed very easily. After connection the Bluetooth worked without any problems. Actually the next time I got in my car and I was driving when a phone call came through it worked perfect. The stereo sounds good but, it did expose my factory speakers. So I will need to update those very shortly. I've had Alpine products before and I've always been satisfied with their performance.

Overall I am not terribly disappointing because I like the hands-free calling function as well as the ability to stream radio though my phone directly to the stereo without wires (cool!). the price is ok, but considering the sound is not much better than my stock stereo, I would expect to pay less for this device. I also purchased Alpine SPS-610C component speakers. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!! The base is a fraction of what my stock speakers produced and the clarity was only marginally better than the stock Subaru component speakers. Extremely frustrated that I put so much much money and time into the system for only a slightly better clarity and LESS bass output. The Crutchfield harness and info sheet were very good. My dissatisfaction is not with Crutchfield.

    Pros: Wireless Bluetooth capability

Cons: sound quality and power not much better than my old stock system

2002 Ford Explorer. Swapped out the factory radio because I wanted hands-free calling. My first aftermarket install. Made a couple of rookie mistakes, so it took longer that I expected; about 2 hours in all. Very happy with the results in the end. Love the Bluetooth audio and USB port. The kids love the iPod capability. Crutchfield is the way to go.

Pros: All the audio input options you could want and at a great price.

Cons: The Bluetooth has gotten confused on a couple of occasions, requiring that I power off the radio.

It works well and is as advertised. I would only add that you should be aware that you'll have to connect wires. This isn't a big deal, but you'll need a wire stripper and some wire connectors (which don't come with the Crutchfield kit and isn't explained by the master instructions thingy). I'd never done anything like this before, but I was able to figure it out pretty easily (just youtube a video about it, then match up the colors on the wires and make sure they match up on the wiring diagrams).

Pros: Very good value. Owner could figure it out without the instructions.

Cons: The DIN sleeve needed to be modified to fit the dashboard. Screws were needed to fasten it to the dash. The instructions said that just bending tabs of the DIN sleeve would work, but that is not possible. The installation kit harness was fine, but the plastic pocket tabs broke during installation. It appears to be an installation that is designed to go in once. Something will break if it ever has to be removed. The operation instructions were confusing to the installer who is 50 years old.

This unit has much better FM reception than my old unit, and the sound quality is very good. I Phone 5 can stream music but you can not skip from song to song, it just repeats in Bluetooth Audio and sometimes pauses for no reason. You can control through the phone which works. Connecting the 5 to the USB port, you loose all control through the head unit and Iphone, the unit just plays what is next. Bluetooth calling is fairly good so far, the sound through the speakers is slightly muffled but better than the factory system in our BMW but not as good as the factory system in our new VW.

Pros: Nice Sound, easy to install, very good FM reception, simple to make a call.

Several very annoying things that can drive you mad

    eMi from DC on 10/31/2012

There is a few things that are very annoying and I am going to list them. Anyone who wants to know about the positives can read the other reviews so I won't mention those. Ok, here we go: 1. If you are using a USB stick, you can only have exactly 100 songs per folder. Anything above that wont be recognized! If you have a 32GB USB, you might need to create 20 folders 2. Random function: I have around 1000 songs on my USB stick, but somehow this unit always manages to play the same song, sometimes in the same order, every time I get into the car. I believe the algorithm is messed up, or Alpine didn't really care 3. Bluetooth: While the BT its self is awesome and the sound through BT is fantastic, whatever phone I am using, it always shows a simple and annoying "BT A", instead of the name of the phone (and it CAN read it, as in the option menu it is recognized by the correct marking of your device 4. Rewind and forward button: the click between switching a song is VERY slow, actually frustrating. You need to play a second or two into a song to be able to switch a song. 5. The left side of the design: As the left side of the design is different then the right one (its like the left side is raised), it creates a visual effect of the radio facing more to the passenger. Its the complete opposite of what you would expect. 6. Blue light: I now do regret that I did not get another radio that had the option to chose the backlight color. If the blue doesn't matches u r screwed

Pros: will probably last for a long time, nice blue color (if your car interior is blue, it will match nicely), standard sound quality for a reasonable price

Cons: everything mentioned in the review, no remote, sound quality in higher volumes could be better, after level 23, the nice sound is gone

Crutchfield takes care of everything. They include all the mounting hardware and cables you need so you don't get the item and find out that you need a cable or some other hardware. Best of all there was no charge for shipping! even here to Hawaii. The item came UPS and had a tracking number. I am very satisfied with the Cd Receiver and very satisfied with Crutchfield.

Pros: The receiver performs as advertised. I connected my phone via Bluetooth with no problem and I can play songs with my Ipod too. Using with Samsung Galaxy Nexus in our 2005 Civic EX Coupe, the Bluetooth connectivity was very hit or miss, seemingly without any rhyme or reason. We tried everything we could think of to get it to work, reading the manual, as well as searching Alpine's site and trying to find others with similar problems via Google search to no avail. I finally called Alpine and got a nice guy on the other end of the line who owns a Samsung Android phone himself & was able to help. Apparently the trick with this head unit is to switch the source away from BT before shutting off the car. When you start the car wait for the BT device to pair with the stereo before changing the source back to BT audio. Since then, we've really been enjoying the new stereo despite a frustrating introduction. If you leave the BT source selected when shutting off the car, frequently the error that would occur is the phone would pair but in settings it shows "Connected (no media)" and BT music streaming would not work.

Great Sound Quality, Bad Phone Compatibility

    Greg from Connecticut on 8/28/2012

I bought a CDE-133BT to replace the CDA-9856 in my truck. I was primarily concerned with Bluetooth connectivity both for phone calls and music streaming. I chose this model because it was supposedly compatible with my Droid Razr, and upon demoing it in a retail store it seemed to work well. As for making phone calls, it works OK, but the call sound quality is less than desirable, and the Bluetooth media streaming barely works at all: When attempting to play media, the head unit shows that the media is paused and thus will not output audio. Sometimes pausing the media on the phone and mashing the play pause button on the head unit gets it to play, but it gets tiring having to do so on every track on an album. Apparently, Alpine's head units don't work with my phone even though it is on their compatibility list. After calling Alpine tech support the answer I received was that they were aware of the issue and had no foreseeable solution anytime soon. Since I have no choice but to keep it now that it is installed in my truck, I have managed to make due by disabling the Bluetooth media streaming and using the AUX input for my phone audio, and just dealing with the poor call quality. If you have a Motorola Android Phone this is not the head unit for you. I do hear that it works well with other smartphone brands. though (i.e. Samsung, iPhone, etc.). I have also had good luck with Kenwood's KDC-BT series head units with my phone in other vehicles.

Pros: Has the excellent sound quality that I have come to expect from Alpine's products. AUX input and IPOD input work well and sound rather excellent

Cons: Bluetooth functions currently are incompatible with my Motorola Droid Razr and other phones listed on their compatibility list. (hopefully a firmware will come out soon and fix the problem)

Overall a great unit. I have had a few receivers and so far this seems to be one of the best. The Bluetooth options are awesome, no it will not display certain things, but none the less hands free still works great. Be warned that if you start the truck up then say stop for gas jump out then get back in real quick, the Bluetooth sometimes has a hard time re-connecting properly. I have had this happen a couple of times and just make sure you disconnect the iphone ipod, whatever it is, manually from the receiver and then manually re-connect. Easy fix, but I have seen some getting frustrated over this. Another thing to add is the mid range, not the greatest but still the sound quality is up there.

Pros: Bluetooth hands free Cool blue Easy to use

Cons: Connecting devices sometimes may prove to be a challenge but it works none-the-less.

Bought this (with the OEM dash adapter) for my '06 Accord VP. Instructions were mostly straightforward and easy to follow - i have a stick shift, and the instructions were made for an automatic but it really didn't change anything. Bought some cheap panel tools online for the disassembly which I highly recommend to avoid breaking / scratching your trim. I preassembled the head unit and the dash adapter and wired the harnesses together prior to starting disassembly, which I also recommend - it means less time with the car in pieces. Probably two hours total installation time and the sound is awesome - way more clarity on the low end than the factory radio and the bluetooth works great (I use it for calling rather than music) - the USB is a nice touch as well, i like how it allows you to control the ipod with the head unit controls. glad I spend the extra $50 for the higher end model.

Pros: sound, ease of installation, breadth of features, price

Cons: controls aren't intuitive, particularly the manual radio tuner, but easy to learn.

Pros: the blue tooth option is great and should be standard for all car stereos.

Installed in 06 Ram 1500. Front Speakers JBL GTO938 6 x 9-Inch 3-Way. Rear Speakers Kicker 11DS60 6". Music - Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, & Alternative. This HU really sounds awesome. Louder than factory stereo at volume setting 19. Starts to distort on some songs at volume 26. At a Volume of 25 and speed of 60 with all 4 windows down I can barely hear wind and outside road noise and music sounds very clear still. I Plan on getting the Alpine KTP-445 Amp to complete my setup. BT works great. It picks up my phone pretty quick. Calls sound great. No echos. People I have talked to have said my voice sounded clear and have had no problems hearing me. My mic is set up on the steering wheel column right in front of the insturment panel so no wires are showing.

Pros: Ease of BT hook up. Samsung Focus WP7. No cords to play music or take phone calls through radio.

Cons: Looking at music on phone or USB using the radio HU is really not easy if you have a lot of music (28gb). So much easier to control with phone when looking for songs or artist. Put my playlist on a USB drive and that works out great to use HU to search out a playlist to play.

I purchased the CDE-133BT back in March 2012. At first, It was an excellant head unit, until I replaced my Droid Charge with Droid Razor MAXX. Now my Bluetooth Audio Streaming doesn't work the way it's supposed to work. Now my audio streaming will play one song and at the end of the song, it will go into bluetooth pause and stay there until I cycle the soarce button so that it can reconnect, play another song and pause again, and again, and again. It doesn't matter if I used Pandora, iheartradio, or downloaded music from my phone, it just keeps on pausing after each song and stays there until I cycle the button once more. And yes, I tried my wife's droid 4, and my sister's lg revolution (both of there's are gingerbread, mine is ice cream sandwich). When Alpine was contacted, they admitted that they have had client's call and complain about similar situations. They stated that many phone manufacturers have changed their bluetooth programming and has made the CDE-133BT no longer compatible. When asked if they are working on a firmware correction to make it compatible, they stated it is not their fault, and they are currently NOT working on fixing it. So in the end, I sent my radio back and now I'm looking for a different brand head unit.

Cons: Bluetooth Audio Streaming does not work with newer smartphones.

Bluetooth is very nice, no cords, no need to even take out the phone for both calls and music (using android phone). Bluetooth sounds great and is for sure the most convenient option. Quality is top notch, have never seen otherwise from Alpine. Display is bit boring and too simple/text too big - only complaint.

Pros: Bluetooth works and sounds great.

    Cons: Display a bit generic.

After looking at a bunch of single DIN and double DINS on Amazon and Crutchfield, I finally ended up choosing this one from Crutchfield. You really can't go wrong with Crutchfield's prices and their installation gear. This unit was not too bad for the price, and it came with bluetooth, which is a plus. Originally I planned on spending anywhere from 100-140, but this one was worth the extra. It's from a well-known brand, and it has proven to be reliable and great so far. The sound can get pretty loud, and you can adjust the Bass, Treble, and Mids, as well as turn on loudness (which can distort sound, but adds bass and other things). It also features a "defeat" function which seems to turn off all the bass. The quality of the unit is pretty good. It looks a little glossy and slick, but I have had no problems seeing it at all in the month that I have had it. The bluetooth calling is decent. You can easily answer, although when you hit the button it takes a second or two. You need to make sure that your phone isn't connected to the aux when you do this, like I did a few times, or you won't be able to talk. I like how if your Bluetooth is on it auto connects to your phone when you come in range and the car is on after like 15 seconds. It's also nice how when you hit source to change to Bluetooth audio and your phone is connected, it auto plays. You can hit next or back to change songs via your unit, but you can't search (haven't tried iPod through iPod cable. Worth buying!!!

Pros: Easy installation Able to change manual EQ easily Looks fairly nice Sound quality is fairly good It can get pretty loud USB port can charge phones Bluetooth is better than what I expected

Cons: Bluetooth button laggs a second or two behind Not able to change colors Loudness can distort Sometimes it won't tell you the name of the band/song when you are using bluetooth, or it shows the last one. (you can cycle "view" to fix this)

I did run into a few problems installing but Crutchfield tech support was very friendly and knowledgable on installing. Recently purchase Rockford Fosgates prime speakers waiting install to bring out more sound quality then factory speakers. Also blue tooth is very user friendly and easy to install plus you get like 15 feet of mic wire so you can place it anywhere you like for the best sound quality. Couldn't be happier with this radio.

Pros: Blue tooth, USB, Aux, and detachable face plate.

I have only owned Alpine decks, since my first one more than 10 years ago I have been hooked, never considered anything else. The 133BT is from my point of view, the best bang for the buck out there. The Bluetooth works just as it should, the call quality is fantastic, you can change your mics sensitivity by choosing one of 5 preset options or customizing it. I don't have to yell even with the windows down and have never had anyone on the other end tell me they cant hear or understand me. Streaming music over Bluetooth sounds like you are playing a CD, No quality is lost. If you have had an Alpine deck before the controls will come natural.

Pros: Value, ease of use, Bluetooth call and music quality.

This is the third stereo I purchased from Crutchfield. The other two were returned because the bluetooth did not work properly in them. I had read the reviews for them but thought I would give it a chance. This time I spoke to a representative and they recommended this one. Glad I listened to them. No issues with bluetooth on this one. It connected to my HTC Hero S easily. Calls are loud and clear, people on the other end can hear me fine. The voice dial is great. One small issue is that after you push the answer button, it takes a couple of seconds for the stereo to stop ringing and to answer the call, but that may just be me needing to get use to this stereo. I use the USB port to plug in my iPod and have no issues there. It is very easy to navigate through your playlist. Radio stations come in pretty good. I do have one or two that are not as strong as they were on the stock radio but I do not listen to them very often so not a big issue for me. I have not used the CD player because all my music is on my iPod nor have I used the AUX IN. It does not come with a remote but you can purchase one for $20. I did purchase the remote and it is very generic. Does not have buttons specific to this stereo.

Pros: Good price for the stereo. Bluetooth USB Port

This a solid unit for the money. I previously had the Alpine CDE-125bt in my 98 F-150. It was great unit. Easy to use with great bluetooth quality. I sold the truck and bought a 2003 f-150 and put another the Alpine CDE-133bt in it. It is a nice addition to the truck. The ability to have the iphone controls built into the deck and the ability to stream blutooth music and Pandora have made the time I get to spend in my truck much more enjoyable. I have not quite figured out the bluetooth calling as easily as the the 125bt. The voice dialing is easier to access on the 133bt, but it does not seem to work as easily with Siri on my iphone 4s. I am sure that I will need to tinker with it some more, but have not had the ability to do so since my wife has been "borrowing" my truck more often to run herrands. Such is life I guess. I do like the ability of the alpine to add instant power the powerpak attachement that can be simply plugged in. That will be my next purhcase with some upgraded speakers for my f-150. I would definately recommend this product. It is the best unit available for its price point.

Pros: Bluetooth hads-free dialing and audio streaming

Cons: Voice-dialing does not appear to work with Siri on iphone 4s as well as alpine 125bt

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the 133BT to replace my 2010 Jeep Wrangler factor stereo and after the weekend I'm very happy with it. I also replaced my factory speakers (standard, not the upgraded Infinity package) with Polk DX i650s in the sound bar and front dash. I actually installed the speakers first, about a week before the Alpine head unit. The speakers alone made a noticeable, but small difference in sound quality with the factory stereo. I doing this made me appreciate the Alpine unit once I installed it this weekend - the difference was incredible, a real improvement. The sound is crisp and clear and sounds great. My only complaint has nothing to do with the unit; my Wrangler has no sub, so actually the super clear sounds makes me notice in more that I don't have a sub, and will need to spend more money. But again, can't hate the stereo for being good. The main reason I chose this unit was the Bluetooth Audio streaming. I'm a Windows Phone user, not iPod or iPhone user to the BT audio streaming was an attractive feature. It's worked quite well with great sound quality and the pairing worked really well. I've streamed Zune and Spotify and both worked well. I was even impressed that that artist, album, and track title was working with the Zune streaming. However, I did notice that the track/artist/album information seems to get stuck on the first song played when starting. Also had one instance of the BT freezing, but I'm not clear if it was an issue the phone or unit

Pros: Sounds great Looks great Bluetooth works well

Cons: Have had a couple glitches with artist/album/song display on BT Audio Streaming, but unclear if it's a unit or phone issue Installation instructions could have been a little more helpful, but not insurmountable

I have always liked the "Alpine" brand because i have had a few units in past years. I was very impressed with the bluetooth aspect of the unit and the way it sincs up with my iphone. "LOVE IT". Hands free and great sound as well. I thought I really didn't need a bluetooth radio--before I bought one. I first purchased a Sony bluetooth radio from you all to put in my truck, which I also love. That is when I really got interested in the bluetooth aspects of radio's. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. From now on I am sold. ANY vehicle I may purchase in the future has to have, or I will get, a bluetooth unit in it. I was riding in my truck with my younger cousin one day and we were listening to some music and a call came in. He was so amazed that first, he heard the phone ring throughout the car and the music turned down on it's own. He was like WOW that's so cool. I was like, YEAH I KNOW. Thanks

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Believe me, I wanted to love this unit...I really did. And I mostly do. I bought it to replace a terrible factory radio in a Caravan, and am using stock speakers. Good news: it sounds great, with a wide sweet spot at middle volumes and even a little louder; its MOSFET amp is smooth and very clean. Comes with a remote mic for hands free phone use; very important to me (we have iPhone 3GS and 4). Call quality overall is excellent; the mic is directional with a long cable for good placement. Bad news: the Bluetooth connectivity is flaky for me. Setup is quick and easy. But with iPhone 4, I've had to stop/restart BT on the phone to reconnect numerous times already (one day). Other slight annoyances: occasionally auto-starting a song when the car is started (not a feature, only sometimes), the wrong song title scrolling across the screen (retains previous song), and other miscellaneous 'searching' for connection issues. My other beef is that the bottom (bass) falls off at high volume. I'm talking pretty loud here...honestly probably louder than most would EVER need or want. My yardstick, BTW, is a Sony deck I purchased recently for another car. Yes, more expensive. It's had zero Bluetooth issues, and the amp has a surprising amount of guts at high volume. That could probably be easily solved here with Alpine's little supplemental amp, and I'd likely go for it, but I can't also get past the Bluetooth issues. Sadly, I will likely be exchanging this unit.

Pros: Great sound at low, medium, and reasonably loud volumes. Great hands free mic and call quality. Lots of features, easy setup.

Cons: Bluetooth was shaky for me, with iPhone 4, all latest-greatest software. Bottom end goes away at very high volumes.

I just purchased this unit and installed it into a Subaru Legacy 05. The install was very easy, save the disconnect from the climate control cable, which I found impossible and found a work around. Though I havent given it much of a test run, right out of the box, this unit is great, sounds great and easy to use. I am very used to my Kenwood and how difficult it is to program, mostly the bluetooth! With this this unit it was seamless. The directions on how to do things are easy to understand if you use the provided CD. (pre-printed - not so much). 2 Thumbs Up

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The main purpose of this review is to comment on the Bluetooth hands-free calling. Seems like most of these reviews focus on the bluetooth audio(more on that later) but very little real info on the hands-free aspect. Well, it ROCKS!!! I bought this originally because I wanted a Bluetooth hands-free stereo. I installed a Parrot Evolution in my wife's Honda Civic and was very impressed by the Bluetooth call quality. When researching headunits, I came across this Alpine that had Parrot Bluetooth technology built in, so I gave it a try. I also really wanted ipod control built-in. I installed it in a 2003 Toyota Matrix, which is a pretty noisy, rattle-filled car. I called my wife on the freeway and she said I sounded fine. I also called my work voicemail so I could hear for myself, and it sounds fine. Not quite as good as talking directly into the handset, but close, and totally usable. When someone calls you, it PAUSES (not mutes) the ipod or music you are listening too, then music resumes when call ends. The voice dial works very well also, and is very easy to use. Now, about the bluetooth audio...VERY IMPRESSED!!! I didn't think this feature would matter to me, but it is sweet! Sound quality is awesome (just as good as a direct connect ipod), and when I have my Android phone mounted in the car mount, I can change the songs from the stereo, and it actually changes on the screen of the phone also. Very cool. I don't know why I didn't get this along time ago!

Pros: Sound Quality from all audio sources (especially BT Audio) Bluetooth hands-free works great Ipod control looks really good

Cons: Mic is pretty big. Maybe it works better that way, but it would be nice if it was smaller. USB is on the front (I prefer it routing through the glovebox) Install kit that came with it not quite the right size and dash trim doesn't fully clip back on, but a very minor gripe

I have been an "Alpine Guy" for quite a few years now. So you will not get an inpartial review from me. Alpine makes some of the best units out there with great sound quality, style and ease of use. Plus the dollar value stretches pretty far with this manufacturer. Excellent product.

Pros: Sound quality, style and price.

Cons: Only knock on this is not on the receiver itself, but the Honda install kit. I had to use the old install kit from the previous Alpine head unit because the side locking pins on the new one would not firmly connect to the receiver. Very disapointing because Best Buy screwed up the previous install kit by cracking three of the four screw holes.

Having had a similiar unit in my Honda, programming and use of this unit was very easy. The sound is excellent when compared to the stock stereo. I am very happy with this purchase. Took about an hour and a half to install , mostly because I choose to solder all my wires. install with supplied kit and instructions always make products purchased from Crutchfields a snap to install. Ravioli refers to the name my son gave to his Rav 4

Pros: works well , usb and ipod compatible, great sound

    Cons: its only blue,

You'll either love or hate this receiver depending on which features most influenced your buying it. What sold me was obviously the Alpine name and the price, but mostly the Bluetooth capability for both streaming music and hands-free calling. I've been very disappointed with the receiver's performance in this area. Setup was very easy, I was able to pair it with my iPhone 4S in less than a minute. That's about the best thing I can say about the Bluetooth feature. I constantly need to disconnect and repair the receiver with my phone. A few times I've actually had to reset the receiver, losing all my presets. Sometimes I'll actually be in the car, halfway to my destination before the receiver recognizes my phone and starts playing music. There's issues with the hands free calling as well. The receiver will alert me of a call, I'll answer it through the receiver and won't hear anything. Come to find out the hands free never kicked in and I have to pick up my phone and answer the call. Like I said previously, if you don't care about the Bluetooth functionality, this is a fine device. Not outstanding, but perfectly adequate. If you do, however, steer clear of this receiver. I expected more from Alpine.

    Pros: Easy setup, good sound.

    Cons: Bluetooth doesn't work consistently.

2005 Honda Accord Sedan was having problems with stock radio. The screen backlight already went out and wasnt covered under warranty. Then the radio started going out intermittently so I got this unit to replace the stock unit. It was recommended by Crutchfield and I'm glad I got it before it went o ut of stock. For the price, you cant beat the features. The install was simple and using the unit is easy to figure out. The display is bright and clear and navigating menus is fluid and not frustrating. The bluetooth works great with my Droid Razr which is a brand new phone on the market and there are no connectivity issues. The call quality is loud and clear and even with the microphone stuffed into the pocket under the head unit the person on the other line could hear me loud and clear. ( Going to route the mic wires under the dash and upto the A pillar soon!). The backlight is not too bright at night and is not distracting. The unit automatically dims when the headlights are turned on though not by much. All in all a great buy!

Pros: Great price for the features it comes with. Comes with a hardcase for the detachable faceplate. Soild construction and doesn't feel cheap. Has option to use a wireless remote control Has wiring options for subwoofers and all other kinds of stereo upgrades.

    Cons: NONE

Once every month I'll drive for about four hours. I will probably kill two hours of that talking through this radio. After being on a call for about twenty minutes, I will ask the person who I am talking to about the sound quality. The common response is that they hear other noises in the back ground, but was not that noticeable till I asked. I love storing my music in one spot and being able to hop in and out of vehicle, without having to remember an Ipod or memory stick. After you get used to the menus on the unit, it becomes easy to find what you need. As far as a recommendation to a friend, I would really push this radio.

Pros: Streaming music straight from my phone.

Cons: Only 2 pre-amp out puts. Screen doesn't have an adjustment on illumination.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received this head unit as a birthday present and installed it myself. It replaced a stock radio in a Nissan Xterra. The new unit produces better sound from the same ol speakers than the stock one did across the board. My main goal was to integrate my iPhone 4S into my car audio. This Alpine does it all. Besides standard AM/FM and CD, it replaced my jawbone for hands free calls, can take any audio feed through the aux, iPod/Phone/Flash drive/etc through the USB, and will also do BT audio streaming from my phone. In addition to all those options - I also have flexibility - I can have the phone plugged into the USB (to charge) and stream via BT or the USB all the while taking my calls via the included microphone and my stereo system. I have also learned that it will allow me to control Siri via the BT! Since the alpine is set to do voice dialing and the iPhone 4S voice dialing system is Siri - I can have it dial numbers, set reminders, tell me where to have lunch, calculate math... whatever Siri will do. I'm the type that reads the owners manual and wants to know how to do everything that a piece of electronics can do. This Alpine is no exception. But, I can also honestly say that after an evening of reading and playing - controlling this Alpine is a breeze. all the important controls are laid out exactly where they should be. Granted I've not played with everything out there - I did return a Pioneer to get this Alpine and I'm very happy that I did.

Pros: Value Sound Quality Ease of use Layout Build quality Flexibility iPhone 4S compatibility

Cons: Can't change the display colors (but I dig blue and white) no HD radio / Satelite radio (but I have no use for that)

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This thing feels cheaper and looks cheaper than the well designed OEM Honda radio it replaced, especially the button feel. It obnoxiously shiny even on it's black parts and throws glare like crazy. The lights are way too bright, and there was no connection for the dimmer wire nor any explanation. It does dim when you put headlights on, but not so much it matters. Oddly enough one of the settings choice displays as a choice between, "off" and "one" instead of off & on. I don't enjoy it, but it's installed so that's that. The Crutchfield instructions are fair, but not well thought out. For instance you wind up with a number of original screws left over, they could tell you so, so you don't wonder where they go. To top it all off Crutchfield is sending me emails on speaker deals, which would be nice, except that ever time I go to check on a pair out it says, "does not fit your vehicle." If they know this, they should not be wasting my time to begin with. It's a kid's item apparently, all flash and such.

Pros: It works. Nothing special at all to recommend this unit. Nice feel to the rubber edged vol knob.

Cons: The styling! ugly compared to the ten year old OEM cassette player it replaced in my Honda, which also have much better button feel. This Alpine is styled for kids with souped up Subarus and coffee can exhausts. Way too shiny, silly chrome details, too many useless lights that are screaming bright at night. Your hand hides the display when you use the selector/vol knob. One of the settings choices read through the display reads, "off/one" instead of "off/on"!

Able to switch from controlling iPhone on stereo to controlling it on the actual phone. The wiring harness and other adapters that crutch field supplied helped out a whole lot. Controls take a little to get used to. Overall, great stereo and the price is great for having the bluetooth feature.

The Bluetooth was easily connected to my iPhone, but the connection seems to be lost every now and again (not sure if it is the radio or iphone). The documentation that was provided by Crutchfield was fantastic, and really helped with making sure I got everything installed correctly.

I bought the Alpine CDE-133BT to replace a Pioneer P8200BT. It is a much simpler radio to operate. I love the physical buttons to select a radio station or phone number rather than having to search through several menus. The sound of the Alpine is great. My wife says the Alpine bluetooth sounds better than the Pioneer. Pairing was quick with my Motorola Razr cell phone. This is my first Alpine and I love it. As a side note: I installed this into a 2005 Ford Freestar van. The system didn't work with the dimmer control. Do not connect the orange dimmer wire of the radio with the orange/white dimmer wire of the vehicle. I got a blinking display when I did that and the outside temperature display went to -40F. That is too cold, even for Minnesota.

Pros: Physical buttons to select radio stations and phone numbers.

Cons: Couldn't get the dimmer function to work. Not a problem in my case.

I bought this unit after vast research on various units. I like it because of the affordability for what I wanted in a stereo. I wanted bluetooth without anything too fancy. It installs easily. I ran the microphone for the bluetooth through the driver side pillar and its above my head. Automatically syncs with my cell phone when i turn on the car. Shop down the road wanted $70 for installation but ive never paid for a stereo install always do myself. Dont need the crutchfield tech support but ive heard they are really good. if you get a unit from them try installing yourself and save a few bucks !!

I installed this in my brother's '98 Corolla. From a cassette player to this stereo, the sound quality became x10 "GOODER," so did the volume loudness. Instruction on the master sheet was very accurate. All I had to do was solder each wire then insulate it. Bluetooth pairing was easy, radio tuner is simple, iPod connectivity and CD receiver works great, the only thing that I notice is that the radio sound quality is better than both iPod and CD sounds. The display panel could be better. What I mean by this, is it could have been more graphical. So far the sound system configuration in this car are as follows: front door speakers=factory; rear deck speakers=Pioneer TS-G1643R 6-1/2"/6-3/4" 2-way Speakers; no Subs and no Amps.

Pros: Easy installation. Much better sound quality. Budget friendly.

Cons: Display panel could be more graphical.

This is the first head unit I have ever purchased. The installation was not that difficult for a beginner like me. The only part that I had an extreme difficulty on was getting the head unit to pair up with my Droid Charge. Its my fault for not reading the manual, but the manual is on a CD rather than a book, so that may pose an inconvenience. Increasing the gain on the mic provides clear voice. I had to get used to the controls; it takes about two days to know your way around. I am upset that this head unit scratches VERY easily. The moment I test ran it, I noticed several scratches on the display. I was disappointed mostly at myself, but I put blame on the plastic Alpine used. I am now extremely careful when plugging in media into the head unit. This head unit provides great power on my factory speakers. I love the usb connectivity and the hands free calling. Overall, a great purchase for $140 (I used a $20 off coupon)

Pros: Bluetooth, blue is great, power, clarity

Cons: Scratches easily, bluetooth can be difficult to set up

I bought one of these to replace my wife's 2001 Nissan Sentra SE stock stereo. The oem cd player stopped working. The features that drew me to this model. Ipod controls and Bluetooth Calling/Streaming capability. She was using a Monster FM transmitter to play her Ipod through her stock stereo. The sound quality of the FM Transmitter was pretty bad.. even if she didn't complain about it. Sounded like a AM radio station. By using the front usb to connect her Ipod. Now she gets a excellent connection and the music sound close to CD quality. The Bluetooth allows her to talk on the phone and stream music directly from the phone. Very nice since she has a long commute. Overall she is extremely happy with the receiver. I personally love the simplicity of the unit. Ease of use was a major buying decision. The only issues I have with the unit are... It would have been nice if you could change the blue lights to green / white or amber. The blue looks tacky. Alpine should have stuck with the alpine green. Also the display doesn't really show enough info when trying to navigate the Ipod. Trying to find the correct audio book "part" is tedious. The easiest way is to unplug the ipod to regain ipod control and then start the song or book and plug it back into the Alpine.

Pros: Bluetooth streaming/calling and Ipod support. Easy to use. Interface makes sense. Excellent sound quality. Great reception. Works well with my android phone , her blackberry and Ipod.

Cons: Display could use different colors and display more info. Ipod navigation is marginal.

I upgraded my stock Mustang stereo with this Alpine bt133. It took about hour to wire and nstall thanks to the helpful info sheets from Crutchfield. The radio works and sounds vastly superior to the stock one, and I am finally able to listen to my ipod without a pain in the butt transmitter. The head unit allows you to navigation your usb device's music directly with radio controls. The usb port also allows you to use thumb drives and a smart phone. Pandora internet radio controls for iPhone and Android allow you to navigate your favorites songs. Hands free devices are becoming mandatory in some areas, and this unit's integrated bluetooth works. Using the BT feature, the phone file system can navigated, it be used as a wireless mp3 or Pandora player, and can be used to make or answer calls. The cd player works as usual, and allows multiple formats. So far this thing works great.

Pros: Ipod/smart phone integration, Bluetooth, great sound, easy install.

Cons: Controls may be complex for some. The lights are a little too bright.

Good value. There are a couple of quirks, though. 1) The RCA outputs are only for the front channel?!? It makes more sense, if there is only one set of RCA jacks, as on this one, it should be for the rear channel, IMO. 2) The bluetooth feature must be set for a paired device to connect on power up. So, If you have 2 phones and 2 drivers, you need to set it for the the phone you want to use each time you start the car. It will not automatically connect to a paired phone which is near by as my Pioneer deck and all other BT handsfree devices I have used. The BT audio is really nice that it shows the song, album, title, artist even for an android device if the audio player on the phone supports it. The Antenna control is nice in that it only raises the antenna when the radio is being used and not when the unit is on but on another source as many others do. The European version of this radio has selectable display color. Strange that it is not on the US version.

    Pros: Sound, Value

Let's face it, teens are gonna use their iPhone for communications and music while driving. I researched stereos that will lower the distraction level for my teenager. The CDE-133BT fit my needs. I installed the stereo with my son, bonding time. Then we set it up together. I showed him how to use the features. Music selection is seen on the display of the stereo instead of him fumbling with the iPhone. The display shows who is calling, now I know why he ignores my call, LOL, and has a simple button to push answering the phone, The included microphone makes it easy to talk on the phone hands free as the audio come across the stereo. Illinois has a hands free law anyhow. So the BlueTooth features and iPhone integration reducing distractions for my teen was my main reason for purchasing this stereo. The sound improvement over the stock stereo in the 2004 Neon was a much needed bonus. Thank you Alpine!

Got this stereo today.... This deck almost has everything I need BT, USB, and an AUX. The three band EQ is a nice touch. I was pretty stoked about the way it sounded with the power pack I already have. But, I've never had one that couldn't change button color. All my cars have had an Alpine in them for the last decade plus. This is the first one I sold the same day I got it. I was disappointed and left wondering why Alpine's more expensive BT decks, can change color, but, don't have the three band EQ.?. I have no need for sub adjustment, like in the CDE126BT. This CDE 133BT three band EQ tunes my Focals well. Unfortunatly, not matching the interior lighting is a no go.

Pros: Alpine's all sound great! Been hooked for years... Solid build. Easy to install, uses same connector as previous Alpines

Cons: Alpine's lack of BT head unit variety in this years lineup. No illumination adjustment. We all don't have blue instrument panels.

Great product with a few quirks

DDV from San Jose, CA on 2/8/2012

Product just plain looks awesome. Removable front panel; "cool" blue; uncluttered display - very nice. Installation (Ford van) was simple with Crutchfield's kit and instructions. Sound is surprisingly crisp and clear - except, of course, after the kids crank the bass way up. Then it's a bit boomy. ;-) S/N ratio is very nice on all sources. Plenty quiet even when the vehicle is turned off. I found the menu buttons and functions to be a bit non-intuitive but definitely learnable. Read the manual to find the quirks. The "source" menu, (hold down the volume button), could use a few more shortcuts (bluetooth source, for instance). I am most intrigued by the Bluetooth Audio function. When it works, it's very nice with both iPhone music and Pandora, displaying the album, artist, and song. I found auto-pairing/reconnect (step out of the car the back in) to work 70% of the time. When it doesn't work, it's a pain to get sound out of the unit (pop off face; turn off iPhone; etc.) Not sure if this is the fault of the iPhone (4) or the unit. Finally, the display when playing Bluetooth is generally OK but occasionally it'll get stuck displaying the name of the previous song. Ideally, it would display the name of the song at a song change, then go back to displaying the time of day. Doesn't seem to do that.

    Pros: Sound Installation Price Functionality

Cons: Bluetooth auto-pairing/reconnect not consistent Display gets out of sync, doesn't return to time

Great little unit. Installed easily and works flawlessly. The display is clear without being distracting, the functions all work as advertised, and it drives my speakers cleanly and clearly. The star off for "coolness" is a good thing, IMO. I hate flashy, distracting units. This one looks good, displays the right information, and sounds phenomenal. If you want a disco light, get a Sony. If you want a classy, quality head, go Alpine.

Pros: Bluetooth music streaming - It wasn't clear if this unit was only BT-phone, or if it streamed music as well. I can confirm that with an LG Optimus running Android 2.2, I get BT streaming, though not without its quirks (see cons). The front USB works great. I put a low-profile 32GB memory card with my music collection in; goodbye folders of easily-scratched CDs! Radio signal is strong and crystal clear

Cons: Bluetooth music streaming has some quirks. This may be user error, but the controls on the unit and the controls on the phone play two different playlists. So, when I first connect, I always get the same song starting up. I have to pause the music on the Alpine deck and play the music using my phone's controls. I can't seem to change albums using the deck's controls. Finally, the Alpine's EQ is disabled for BT streaming, so if you don't have an EQ on your phone, the music will sound flat.
