You'll drive safer with Alpine's CDE-143BT CD receiver in your car, courtesy of its built-in Bluetooth®. When a call comes in, you'll see your caller's phone number on the screen, and you can answer the call by tapping the phone button on the front panel. You can adjust the mic's gain to best match your speaking voice, plus you can also tweak the phone output and ring volume, so you won't go diving for the volume knob every time someone calls. The CDE-143BT also supports Bluetooth audio streaming, so you can listen to any of the content on your Bluetooth equipped smartphone without a tangle of wires on your car's console.
Enjoy iPod control, Bluetooth, and great sound with the CDE-143BT.
Once you plug into the convenient front-panel USB input, you can use the CDE-143BT's controls to navigate your iPod's music library. Your riders will appreciate Passenger Control Mode, which lets them play DJ while you focus on driving. You can adjust your sound to taste with one of the ten equalizer presets or by using the 3-band parametric EQ.
Plug in your iPhone and you can also listen to some of your favorite music apps, like Pandora®, Rhapsody, and others with Alpine's App Direct Mode. You'll have basic control of music functions playback functions, such as play, pause, and next track from receiver, while you use your iPhone's touchscreen to other functions of the music apps.
In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.
Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.
iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.
Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.
Finally decided on this head unit. No regrets here. Sounds great, looks great, easy to use, blue tooth is crystal clear with no distortion. This is the best unit for your money.
Pros: Bluetooth, easy controls, good sound quality
I shopped around, best price for this unit, it works great and is easy to figure out, appears to be well built and looks good, I will be buying a second one for my motorhome soon.
Pros: Is everything it is advertised to be.
I was looking for a basic stereo receiver, with built in Bluetooth functionality, and good audio quality. I have definitely found it in this deck. Super easy to install, I had never installed a stereo myself before. Don't waste your money on paying someone to install it. Youtube is your best friend. Worth the money, great audio, super easy to install, and its an Alpine. Enough said.
Cons: Would like to be able to set the volume for the audio, and the blue tooth audio to be the same level. Right now if you are listening to Bluetooth audio or making a phone call and switch to the radio or cd the audio is ridiculously loud!
Great stereo with powerful sound. A major step up from my sony stereo, which was a piece of trash. I will never buy Sony again. Pushing my alpine speakers and 2-12" subs perfectly fine. Although I still cant figure out the bluetooth phonecall microphone to work, but it may just be me. Also, I dont like pushing the buttons when I have to reconnect my faceplate; they should have left an open space that wont cause excess pressure on the buttons.
Pros: Intuitive layout. User friendly faceplate.
Cons: Buttons that toggle folders via usb and repeat options do not light up, so its difficult to see what Im pressing while driving at night. Biggest annoyance: When on bluetooth audio setting, it will not emit sound when i play something off my phone. I have to toggle thru CD, radio, aux, usb, BACK TO "Bluetooth audio" for the stereo to emit sound from my phone.
I'd purchased a cheaper head to provide BT, CD, and USB support. It was a nightmare of unfinished software. As far as I can tell at this point the Alpine does everything right. Tuner performance is good, sound quality is great, all functions work smoothly. The unit is also allows volume balancing of all the source inputs. I have no complaints.
Pros: good tuner performance. allows volume balancing of all source inputs. Uses the car light control input to auto-dim. Great sound quality.
Very easy install. Looks & sounds great. My only complaint is you have to hold the button down for two seconds to power off the unit
Pros: Good looks. Clear bright display screen
I have a 2001 Mercedes E320 and the radio finally died and I ordered this Alpine to replace it after seeing so many good reviews. What a nice little system this is. I have the Bose sound system in my Mercedes and this radio sounds great. Bluetooth connectivity to it with my iPhone was a breeze. CD sound is excellent as well. I feel that my car has gotten a significant upgrade with the Alpine. The build quality seems excellent. I know you can spend a lot more on a replacement head unit, but this one really does the trick. You even get a microphone included for voice commands and phone calls. And Crutchfield puts everything you need in the box to install and it goes into the existing space with no modifications. Well done Alpine and Crutchfield!
Pros: Feature set for the money Sound quality
The Alpine CDE-143BT was an easy install in my 2002 Tahoe. The wiring connectors and plugs provided hooked with little problem; I just have to use one wire from the smaller GM plug and add it to the radio plug to run the original installed subwoofer. The unit puts out enough power to power the Pioneer and and Kenwood speakers. There is a learning curve figuring out some of the controls. I don't like that when the Ipod is plugged in, the unit takes control of the Ipod and I'm unable to change anything on the Ipod unless unplugged from radio. The blue lighted control area is nice and not distracting. Overall, it's a good quality basic unit with cd player that allows USB or smaller plug accessories.
Easy to install with the instructions that were provided. Really happy with the sound. This is my 2nd Alpine.
Pros: sounds good
Nice receiver. Good value. Bluetooth works very well. Exceeded my expectations.
Pros: easy to use simple to install installation instructions and Crutchfield help were great good sound, especially via iPhone
Really great radio- helped make my Saturn a little bit nicer! Great sound, love the Bluetooth connection to play my music and answer calls
Pros: Bluetooth connection Light up blue Quality sound Fairly inexpensive
Cons: Older style Don't like the power on/off button
The product is a perfect quality sound system...
The sound system on the 2005 Honda Odyssey was on its last legs. No longer could it play CDs and there was no input of any sort. But I am not a handy guy and so I was reluctant to replace it. But your service complete with all the parts I would need and great instructions made this so easy I finished it before the guy I asked to come help me got there!
Pros: Great, simple easy to understand.
Cons: You undersold how easy you made it.
great product! makes stock speakers come alive to full potential! only thing i would say is a downfall is the bluetooth.sometimes i got to reconnect it to my phone again. dont know if it is bad connection or what. it shows my music playing but there is no sound just i just toggle through to bluetooth again for it to connect.
Pros: sound. quality.
Cons: bluetooth could be better
I got this stereo to replace my Forenza factory unit. It blows it away and once I fought the dragon to install it,,,am glad I did. Love it!!
Pros: Great sounding CD player, USB player, Radio. If it would make you a sandwich would be perfect.
Cons: Not having this stereo.
Bought this for my nephew he loves it hands free calls music etc
I was looking for a direct replacement with Bluetooth capability and USB. The instructions were pretty straight forward and the install was fairly easy. The two challenges I ran into was (1) the wiring adapter had the [Ignition] and [Battery] pin positions reversed for my application. So I had to remove the pins and reverse them. The stereo will function with them reversed but any saved settings such as the radio stations will be lost every time you turn it off. Even though It is supposed to be a direct plug in, which it probably is for most applications, it was not on my 2004 Sprinter. (2) There is a microphone in the head unit storage box for those of you that want to use your cellphone Bluetooth feature. It was very difficult running the microphone through the factory enclosure as there is no access underneath and you have to feed the wire through a very tight and small area inside the enclosure. After that it was not bad at all. The quality of the sound was immediate and did not disappoint. This is a huge improvement over the factory system and well worth the effort. I later replaced the factory speakers with JBL GTO429 4" 2-way Speakers and installed an older Alpine 5 channel amp I had and some Kicker CompRT 40CWRT672 6-3/4" Dual 2 Ohm Subwoofers and made custom enclosures for them. So far I'm very happy with the head unit and now have a real nice sound system.
Pros: Fairly easy install, very clean sound, lots of nice adjustments and options.
Cons: None with the unit
Great unit for the price.
Pros: Easy to use and sounds great
Cons: Still need to look at manual to set the clock..
Was looking for an easy to install, easy to use head unit that could upgrade me to bluetooth and that could use the Alpine powerpack as i upgraded to reference series Infinity speakers a couple years ago and wanted to get their full potential... Am not disappointed at all!! Have upgraded to Alpine head units for over 16 years now, the only head units I will go with!!
Pros: Ease of use, bluetooth, compatible with Alpine power pack1
Cons: Still a bit small, the faceplate is not very easy to take off
This is the third Alpine CDE-143BT I have purchased from Crutchfield. I have one in my wife's Jeep Liberty, one in my Mazda 5 and one in my 97' Suburban. The sound quality is excellent, but what I like the most is the ease of use and fairly intuitive controls. I really dislike controls that require pushing multiple buttons while watching a tiny screen to change mode, source, etc. Having the same unit in all our cars really make it easy to move from car to car and not have to go through a learning curve each time. We also have Sirrius Satellite radio in all 3 cars, plugged into the aux port on the front of the unit. We can then switch the satellite head unit from car to car, which is really convenient.
Pros: Good value, simple controls, intuitive operation
Good product for a good price
All in all, this unit has a ton of functions and I'm still discovering them.
Good radio/CD changer for my '95 BMW M3. With the Crutchfield adapter it uses the factory amp which eliminates the need for additional wiring. It sounds good, has bluetooth capability, and fits the dash with no problems. I think it is a little clunky in that it seems to take forever to scroll through the source choices. To go from radio to BT (Android phone), for example, takes several clicks. And the faceplate trim piece seems very flimsy. Overall, though, a great value.
It is bluetooth to my samsung galaxy . Easy to install to my 2001 Toyota Sequoia.
I am impressed with the quality and the functionality of this bluetooth receiver. I have yet to setup bluetooth to connect with my mobile. Routing the microphone wire proved to be less of a challenge because I used a long push button grasping tool to fish the cable jack behind the dash to the radio mic input. That was my greatest worry but it turned out just fine.
Pros: Build quality, ease of switching inputs, sound quality.
Cons: none I can think of; Alpine is still king.
Awesome unit for the money!!!!
Pros: Bluetooth for iPhone 1-5
Cons: No Bluetooth for iPhone 6. Didn't say that when purchased.Crutchfield response on September 23, 2015 Once we saw this review, our Tech Support team reached out to help the customer. From our research, this Alpine receiver is compatible with the iPhone 6. We'll either help him get the receiver working the way it should, or help him return it for an exchange or refund.
Excellent unit. Great being able to use bluetooth in my 2003 vehicle. Excellent sound quality even with factory speakers. Fits seamlessly in my dash. I am very happy with the choice. Called Crutchfield twice during instasllation and they were very helpful.
Pros: Look, sound, bluetooth
Cons: Minor cons include most buttons too small (as with most if not all aftermarket stereos), wish the microphone was smaller, and don't like holding source button down for 2 seconds to turn it off.
Easy to use with good sound quality. Love it
Pros: Easy to use
This head unit arrived quickly. The installation was a breeze, with help from a few sets of instructions. It is easy to use and has improved the sound quality over the stock system quite a bit.
Pros: easy install, sounds great, easy to use
Cons: Only blue and white light
No issues with installation or use
This deck does it all at a great price! Bluetooth, USB, and a great receiver all in one package at a price which wont make you have sleepless nights worrying about it in your jeep or convertible. JUst hands down a good value and a great product! (Be sure to note that the microphone is shipped inside the removable face plate case.)
Pros: Hands free bluetooth or USB to phone; great sound!
Cons: nothing in directions to tell you where they packaged the microphone (in face plate case) Called crutchfield to order one (not knowing it was included) and the astute rep told me where to look...and...Surprise! It was there!
Easy installation in my 2012 Corolla. Works perfect. Sound quality is a big improvement.
Pros: Easy installation Good Price Easy Setup
It was a very easy install with the free components supplied. One hour to get the system working.
Pros: Would do this again
Such a sweet stereo. I love it. Super easy install
I think this is the all around best values at Alpine offers for the money it gives you the basic features that you need without any of the Xtra frills bells or whistles great value would recommend this to anybody for entry-level CD radio
Head unit is just OK it's nothing extraordinary for the price, the sound is good and the detachable face seems a bit low quality and flimsy.
Pros: Ease of installation, I pod/ I phone hook up directly up front
Cons: Cheap low quality feel to detachable face, priced a bit steep for what you get.
I've been using Alpine decks back into the 80's. Always great quality. Having the Bluetooth is nice.
Pros: Easy install and setup. Great value for the price.
I absolutely love this stereo. As with every alpine product that I have used I am still very satisfied.
Pros: Ease of use Excellent sound quality Very nice appearance
Cons: Only wish that it had different color displays
Awesome radio, easy installation and quick connection to Bluetooth capabilities
The bluetooth audio has a few hick ups and the iPod randomly disconnects and you have to turn the receiver off and on again. ...... but, the few hickups are pretty minor considering how many features I got for the money. It sounds great and has all the features I want for half the cash of the other models I was looking at.
Pros: Sound, features, look.
Cons: Build quality
I bought this stereo to replace the factory CD/AM-FM player in my 2003 Tundra to get the HD channels locally and use my andriod and apple phones. It is a really good price for the number of features you get. It's not a good as a touch-screen, but if price is a concern, you won't be displeased with the value.
Pros: not a pros
Cons: not a cons
Great radio at a great price. I'm old school and this new Alpine was easy to lean how to use. I love the bluetooth phone pairing option and all the input options for my ipad ipod and usb. Alpine was the stereo to have growing up in the late 1970s and it still seems to be high quality sound equipment today.
Pros: installation was easy with the wiring adapter the Crutchfield team set me up with.
Cons: No DVD player
Real nice unit. Would buy it again.
Pros: Bluetooth, Auxiliary plug, usb.
Great value great sound. Very easy installation with Crutchfield support. Thanks.
Pros: Great sound Great value Easy install
Pros: Easy to install and use.
Cons: Pretty basic. Nothing too exciting.
Pros: Easy to use functions and great sound quality
Cons: None that I have found.
Love everything alpine. Can't beat this cd player for the price. Love the hands free calling and Bluetooth music function.
easy to use and has all the bells and whistles that you want. It sounds grate and with your help it fits good and easy to install.
Love Bluetooth connectivity
This unit is packed with features. Sounds quality is good. The Factory EQ settings actually make a significant difference unlike older units I've had from competitors. The blue tooth sounds great. Installed it on the right side of my steering column in a 98 4runner. Some people didnt even know I was driving during a call.
Pros: Bang for your hard earned money. It's packed with high end features.
Cons: Doesn't come with a remote.
This is a very good deck. With the free installation pieces sent it was pretty straight forward, a call to Crutchfield answered the one question I had. The Bluetooth and iPhone control work great. I have had many Alpines in the past and this one doesn't disappoint. I may purchase another one for a different car.
Pros: Easy install, very good sound, many options to customize sound. Bluetooth and iPhone control work well.
Cons: Couldn't change the display color, but it's a very small con.
I really like this deck, the sound output is great as with all alpines. Others said the Bluetooth was difficult to set up, but I found it to be quite easy. It does come with instructions after all. Only fault I found was that the USB only works w/ thumb drives or this one random Nokia phone.
My radio in my 2004 Honda Accord stopped being reliable, and I needed a good quality replacement. This is it, I don't have use for the Bluetooth, so I cannot comment on that. So far very easy to use, I have not looked at the manual yet.
Pros: Easy to operate. Alpine + Crutchfield = A winning combo!
Cons: None so far.
This has been a great unit. Really like the bluetooth feature.
Recently bought this, installed it in my '03 Honda Civic EX to replace an old Kenwood, which by the way, is also an excellent deck. The installation was easy, the included wire harnesses and dash din were also a piece of cake to install. Instructions for operating the deck were simple, even for myself a woman. Thank you Crutchfield for excellent customer service and prompt delivery of products.
Pros: Bluetooth,??CD,iPod,mp3,flashdrive, and auxiliary input capabilties are a BIG??,along with the adjustable 3-band equalizer ranges??.All for a great price.
Great easy to use
Overall this is a great single din receiver if your looking to upgrade your audio system.
Pros: Easy to use for the most part, nice design & appearance, & I love the volume knob because it give you the old school feel.
Cons: Only thing that didn't work for me is the blue tooth sync for your Android or Iphone.
These guys have there act together period. The Alpine fit right in perfectly and the wiring harness plugged right in and hooked up in 15 minutes flat and was playing really nice. Somebody before me did the hard work of taking the dash apart and installing the kit for the radio. All I had to do was to change out the Din bracket and was good to go. This is a very nice Stereo with some nice features. All I wanted was to shape the music to my ears. This unit has Bass, Mid range, Treble, Fader, and Balance, along with Sub-woofer and a hos of other stuff I just cant remember right now. This unit is really worth the reasonable price Crutchfield charges. Everything you need is included except the butt connectors for the speaker wires. I love it, and thanks guys, I am very pleased. Sincerely S. Thompson
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: No remote.
Great sound and love the big sound knob!
Good quality product
Pros: Several device interaction capabilities (AUX, USB, BT)
Cons: Display color lighting cannot be changed to match your car console. (only blue)
Wish I had installed this a couple of years ago! Love the sound and the blue tooth feature! I would highly recommend.
Pros: Easy to use
The unit was hard to get set up. I have not got the Bluetooth to work with my Android phone. The radio sounds ok with the original factory speakers and the wiring harness worked fine. The connectors worked great and the mounting bracket after modification worked out fine. I did not use the Ford Radio key supplied as I all ready had one.
Pros: It plays music fine.
Cons: Bluetooth set up not clear in instructions or does not work with my Android Samsung phone.
I got this unit to replace a factory unit that wasn't working to well. After installing this unit I realized how the factory unit was weak compared to this unit. The sound is much better and I don't need to crank it up like I had to on the factory unit.
Pros: Decent sound
Cons: Owners manual is not very good and doesn't really have very clear instructions. Ended up getting a better one at website.
It fit perfectly into my Porsches dash and does everything I wanted it to and more and it does them all well.
Pros: Very cool looking, works great, easy install, lots of features,
Cons: Pricey, complicated to run at first.
I replaced the OEM unit in my '05 Ford Escape with this unit and I'm thrilled with the sound and features. Sounds great and no more having the reach for my phone when it rings. What I don't like it the unit is blindingly bright at night. Yes, it does dim when you turn the headlights on, but barely. I solved the problem with a small piece of window tinting. Right now I can easily take the tinting on and off to suit my needs, but if you can find just the right amount of tint you can leave it on permanently. Otherwise, the instructions that came with the mounting kit were bad, kinda like a 3D puzzle, but once assembled the kit was a perfect fit. Also, the quality of the unit does not seem as tight as as an Alpine I got 5 years ago for another car, although the unit works very well. Plays Pandora and all music wirelessly with no problem and it's easy to move through the menus on my iPhone 4.
Pros: Incredible features for the price and works very well.
Cons: Way too bright at night. Solved with some window tinting.
Great radio I purchased 3 of them one for each of my cars
Pros: Based on the price this product is great I have 3 of them. The ease of use however is not that great. Once you get it figured out its no big deal but getting to that point is tedious. installation was a breeze once i called the Crutchfield guys; this was installed in my 2000 dodge ram 2003 dodge ram and my 1996 grand marque overall it was easy to install in a three vehicals. Good Buy.
Cons: No color control only gets blue. settings are confusing. very little customization value, sound customization only.
Easy to install and sounds great!
Based on the price this product is great. The ease of use however is not that great. Once you get it figured out its no big deal but getting to that point is tedious. installation was a breeze once i called the crutch-field guys; this was installed in my 2014 dodge dart and i ran into some hiccups but overall it was easy. GOOD BUY.
Pros: alpine, lots of sound settings
Cons: no color control only gets blue. settings are confusing. very little customization value, sound customization only.
Classic alpine sound and power! Switched from a pioneer ipod controller unit to the alpine blue tooth and I love the change. Alpine has a distinct sound in my opinion; products sound "punchier" over pioneer, sony, and kenwood.
Pros: Sound quality- price
Cons: No shuffle setting for USB input.
stereo is great I installed one in 2003 crv and one in a 2004 element with kicker door speakers sounds great way better than the factory crap.
Pros: great for the price
Cons: you have to spend some time figuring out all the buttons other than that, great
Very clean nice sound. Takes a while to learn how to use it. You need to down load the full manual to start with.
Pros: Good Alpine low distortion sound quality. Very sensitive FM receiver while driving in the mountains. Provides front panel audio and USB ports as well as Bluetooth. CDE-143 BT is reasonably priced with great friendly support helping with the installation.
Cons: Takes some time to learn the set-up.
For someone who's done a few this was pretty straight forward. First time for 2 din and a little extra needing to remove other parts attached to stock unit, but it all came together perfectly. I liked having the Crutchfield support team on hand for questions. Others mentioned no illumination wire but personally it does not bother me at night, so I'm letting it go.
Pros: Easy installation & direcitons
Install was pretty easy, only bad thing I could say is the instructions could be a little better.
good value, radio sounds good
Pros: looks good, easy to see display with top down
Cons: phone sound quilty could be a little better
Great product. Love Alpine car audio players. Best of sound. Good quality and long lasting. Would not have nothing else. I really am pleased with this.
Pros: Good crisp clear sounds, has good different levels of sounds for the highs, and overall just good product.
Cons: Don't really have but one downfall for me is that the USB should be android compatible.
Really like the radio in my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. Installation was very easy with the supplied wiring harness. BT works well and was easy to sync.
Pros: BT audio, easy setup and installation.
Cons: Can't voice text with BT on.
The Alpine 143 BT is easy to use, sounds great and has all the features I needed for my 1988 VW Vanagon. I paired it with four JBL speakers and I plan to add a powered woofer soon.
Pros: Easy to install, ergonomic controls, good sound and olenty of power.
This CD, MP3, Bluetooth, and radio receiver is awesome. Basically you just hook up the speakers, ground, hot, and ignition wires. Then install the receiver. Very nice for the money. No complaints!
Pros: Easy wiring
Cons: No internal antenna. Just hasn't been done yet.
i also have had issues with the sound cutting out or not starting on bluetooth when playing music through phones or ipad. Called Alpine the said this is not normal. Manual is hard to understand.
I installed this head unit in my 2001 BMW 330CiC! It was fairly easy to install and the folks at crutchfield support were great! What I am so impressed about is all the features this unit has for such a low price. The blue tooth was a little sticky to get started with my android but once going it sounds great! A feature I really need because I drive a stick.
Pros: Value Sound features
Cons: If you have a BMW you will have to modify the basket! I used a dremel tool to cut out the plastic! With the filter, steering wheel adapter and harnesses there is alot to jam in there. Also I ended up putting the microphone on the scosce plate because I did not feel like ripping the dash to thread it to the drivers side windshiled coulom. I used velcro and attached it to face plate.
I really love Alpine components, and have an older CDA-9887 in my car along with two of their PDX amplifiers. So when it came time to upgrade the factory setup in my girlfriend's car Alpine was on the shortlist. After comparing a few Alpine and Pioneer products I decided that the CDE-143bt was a perfect fit both from a functional aspect as well as an aesthetic one. It's got all the features she needed and none that she didn't.
Installation was straight forward in the 2009 Gallant, but I did run into one issue and this meant a call to Crutchfield for assistance. This is where I take a moment to commend Crutchfield on great customer service. My call was answered immediately, no phone tree to navigate, and the tech representative I spoke to was courteous and knew his stuff. I told the tech the symptoms (sound only coming from front tweeters & rear speakers) and he looked it up quickly and let me know that there was a factory amp that needed to be bypassed in this car, he sent me pictures of the amp, the harnesses connected to it and a list of which wires I would need to tap into. You should absolutely factor in Crutchfield's great service when considering your purchase. Sure I could have found the answers online on some random forum, but who wants to do that when you can get a quick answer that you know will work? not me that's for sure. So minus that small hiccup the installation went smoothly.
The sound quality was clearly improved and the girlfriend is happy. A+++
Pros: Bluetooth App direct Clear display Good Quality audio USB and AUX inputs Crutchfield tech support Looks good
Cons: none that I've discovered so far
My wife accidentally threw away the faceplate to the Kenwood unit I had installed in our Honda CRV. I found out that the faceplate costs a lot to replace. I figure I'd check with Crutchfield to see what was available as a new unit. I wanted Bluetooth, HD radio, axillary & usb inputs, ease of use (my wife is technologically challenged) & quality sound. I found this Alpine CDE-143BT. It fit ALL of my needs & costs less than a faceplate! The Kenwood was nothing but a pain in the ass anyway, so I'm actually glad she trashed the faceplate! The Alpine sounds awesome right out of the box & any adjustments were simple & intuitive. Has all of the important bells & whistles with none of the aggravating hoops you had to jump through to adjust or even change settings in the Kenwood at a fantastic price . It makes me wonder if she threw the Kenwood plate away by accident or just threw it out on the highway in disgust! Either way is fine by me!
Pros: Bluetooth, Aux input, USB input (which will charge your phone), HD Radio, intuitive, Quality sound.
for over 4 decades Crutchfield's people have dedicated themselves to greatness thank you so much love the alpine 143 bt best buck twenty nine I ever spent every thing a breeze even after not having installing a stereo in over 30 years usually just buy a new car but I love the vw bug ever
Installed this unit in my Chevy Express cargo van. Fairly easy install, sounds really good. Its got a lot of features I really appreciate, but with one fairly large downside. Probably the worst menu navigation I have ever experienced on virtually anything ever. I know there is a lot going on here, but how on earth the designers at Alpine came up with this is beyond me. You can read the manual over and over while you sit in your car and still get confused. Its like a twisted game of finding the menu you want, and trying to understand how you did it and wonder if you will ever find it again. I dread the day I have a passenger try and find something on there and attempting to explain it to them.
Pros: -Easy to Install -Lots of features -Sounds great -Easy to connect with other Alpine products
Cons: -Difficult interface and menu navigation
