Traded my pt cruiser three years ago, and with it my old Panasonic ghost 1083... I upgraded my speakers in my Ranger but never got around to swapping out that low fi Ford/pioneer unit. Install of the new unit took about 20 min.. Great sound, good solid feel to the controls

Great product. Love the sound. The bluetooth is great. Phone works well without that echo. On screen caller id which is a plus. And streaming music with bluetooth works great also. Radio is clear even with poor signal. One of the nicest decks ive had. Great deck for a single din.

Pros: Bluetooth. Usb input. Easy to use. Sounds great. Easy install.

Cons: Colors are only blue, green, red, and orange.

easy to install, easy to adjust the parameters and great sound! The only problem that I had was getting Pandora to work on the stereo. I made all the settings for Pandora to work, but still wouldn't work ...said "no connection". The fix was to "RESET" the receiver ...the little red button under the face of the receiver. PANDORA launches when I start my truck. Love this receiver!!

Pros: sounds, easy to use, Bluetooth and Pandora

Cons: reset should have been a note in the install directions to get Pandora to work on the receiver.

It's an Alpine!! So of course it's going to be a great receiver. I love the blue tooth, no more input cables scattered everywhere. Even in my Jeep Wrangler, talking on the phone with the blue tooth is outstanding.

    Pros: Blue tooth capability

Cons: A tad bit slow searching for blue tooth when there are multiple devices. But nothing unbearable.

Bought this head unit to replace a factory stereo which had no auxiliary or USB input. While my 2 main requirements have been fulfilled, I decided to spend more for Bluetooth and Pandora features. The Bluetooth has been okay, didn't have any trouble connecting my Galaxy S4, but it does tend to frequently drop the sound momentarily. It happens, as far as I have noticed, after a new track has started on my phone. If this is more of a failure of my device, I haven't had a chance to compare it to any others. As for the Pandora, I have tried everything I can think of to get this feature to work with no success. I have read around the web that it's pretty much a no-go on my particular model, and possibly with Android phones in general. Sound quality seems pretty good, and the menus are quite intuitive.

Pros: Easy Bluetooth connection, decent sound quality, intuitive menus

Cons: Bluetooth sound drops out, no Pandora

I only gave it three stars for coolness factor because I'm sure there are "cooler" units out there depending on the coolness measure of the day, but coolness is not something I care about. I like results, and this unit delivers. It was easy to install, it's easy to navigate (no small accomplishment in this tech-heavy day and age, and I'm an older guy who didn't grow up with technology, so I really appreciate a modern unit that isn't mystifying. If who I am sounds anything like you, buy it. You'll thank me later.

Pros: Quality sound Easy to install Easy to navigate - love the big button to change sources, the fact that touching any button on the unit turns it on Also like that it has a quiet display, not some laser-light show that distracts you while you're driving.

    Cons: None. None. NONE.

This alpine head unit has all the bells and whistles, the tune it app is one of the coolest features if you ask me, i love the fact that i can tune the stereo a certain way for different applications and not lose my precious settings, some of you know what i am talking about.

Pros: there are tons of pros, where do you begin

Cons: a little difficult to use at first but once you understand how this unit works, its amazing, so no real cons for me at least

This head unit is fantastic if your biggest concern is quality. With 4 amp pre-outs to connect to an external amplifier and a 9 band equalizer it is designed to have the capacity to make your vehicle sound exactly the way you want it to. The quality of the head unit seems to be great also, I've had mine out a few times and drive some terrible roads and nothing has begun to fall apart or anything like that. I feel like they did spend their time working on the crucial parts, which I appreciate. It's a reliable HU with tons of features you just need to know how to use. For a person who is just looking for a good HU to put in their car and sound good with a factory EQ setting, like the ROCK setting, it does have those simple features, but for someone like me who has put in a full set of upgraded speakers an amp and additional tweeters in my Ram 1500 Quad Cab, it has potential that is unmatched in this price point. Where they did unfortunately skimp is in the display options. I like the choice of 4 colors you get, especially the classic green that works well in my truck, but so much more potential. And also, maybe it's just how I have my itunes info set up, but the way the preset displays are, I can't have any track info on the screen with the time. Just the song number and time. 3 lines of text would have been better than the 2 it has, but honestly, I can deal with that for everything else I get.

Pros: Fantastic Head Unit. Tune-It app takes some getting used to, but works well on my Ipod. Set up perfectly for the audiophile who wants to unleash all the potential that a song has in their vehicle.

Cons: More emphasis on "the cool factor" in the displays etc. Takes some getting used to, to set up perfectly, but worth the time.

The sound quality of the 147BT is absolutely perfect. It reminds me a lot of the old-school audiophile Alpine 7909 CD deck. The sound is bright and clean with no distortion at all. I am hearing parts of songs that I have never heard before. The factory eq curves are good but for me it sounds best with my own custom curve. I have stored several curves in memory which makes changing the sound easier while driving. It is also great to have bass and treble controls to be able to tweak the sound without having to access the user eq while driving. There are a lot of parameters and settings for the eq and time alignment so it is best to set those while parked. It took me some time to get the sound set up how I wanted it but once I got it set I really do not need to adjust it much. The 147BT is the deck to buy if you want great sound quality. I have had several other brands over the last few years and this 147BT is light-years ahead of any other deck out there. The sound quality is so sharp and digitally accurate that it could almost be called clinical. The deck is definitely high power, the internal IC is good and loud but also sounds good at lower levels too. The Blue Tooth is amazing both in its function and quality of the phone call. It paired up right away with my Galaxy S4 and the calls are crystal clear on both ends. I put the mic on the edge of my headliner above the rear view mirror, and it works great there. Ipod/USB search functions are easy to operate while driving.

Pros: Absolutely the best sound quality you can buy. Easy to operate while driving, once you learn the controls. Blue Tooth and Ipod integration are perfect, my Ipod has never sounded this good. Bass/Treble/Fader/Balance are easy to adjust the sound while driving. Display is easy to see in sunlight. I was glad to be able to select the old familiar Alpine green backlighting. The Media Expander is the best compressed music enhancer I have heard on any deck available today. Deck looks good in my dash.

Cons: The 147BT has good bass when you set the eq for it but I wish it had a loudness or bass enhancer function in addition to the Media Expander. The eq can be a bit daunting if you don't know how to set a parametric eq. I did not care much for the Tune-It app, I much prefer to set the eq and other sound features via the faceplate. Owner's manual is on a disc. I had no way to view it in my truck so I just downloaded and printed it from the Alpine web site.

First, lets remember this unit is just under $200. You will not find one with more features in this price range. Alpine is THE BEST for audiophiles. I cant believe this thing's bluetooth quality with my samsung rugby. I was able to mount the mic on the center of the dash gauge trim panel ( P, R, N, D, 2, 1) and then snap the panel right back on. I was able to carry on a conversation while i was in the passenger seat of my 03 F150. Add IPOD, PANDORA and DROID controls and you just cant beat this unit!!!!!!!!!! (for $200)

Pros: Everything but especially alpine sound quality

    Cons: NONE

Good sound and good features, but bluetooth is a bit dodgy with my new HTC One. Sometimes it doesn't pair, and the voice quality is low. Also the fan is noisy and runs all the time, even if you switch off the power IC (I use an external amp).

Pros: Good sound, full of features, 9-band eq.

Cons: Big ugly source button, fan runs all the time and is noisy, bluetooth sound quality is poor and operation is sometimes flaky.

Nothing really wrong with this HU, it just does not deliver all it could at the price point. At this price point there are other brands that have more features (HD Radio). My real beef is with Alpine's smart phone app. I went with this unit because of the Alpine TuneIt App that allows you to adjust many of the unit's controlls, especically the 9-band parametric EQ. The App is just plain garbage. I expect more out of Alpine. It crashes frequently, it is not intuttive. It is easier to use the roatry dial on the HU for set up and there are things the app can't do, like control volume and select a source. The App designers wasted a lot of energy on social networking instead of adding more features. Guess what Alpine? I don't want everybody on Facebook knowing that I have an Alpine. I am very happy with Crutchfield. The local audio shops try to upsell me, and never want to take the time to compare products. The local big electronics chains are all staffed by kids that know less about car audio than I do. Installation was a snap thanks to Crutchfield's instructions.

Pros: Sounds good, lots of and audio controls. Crutchfield is great.

Cons: TuneIt App is useless. No HD radio, CD player will not play AAC files.

First Alpine-grade head unit I've ever bought and am very pleased. Sound quality is wonderful with Toyota 4runner factory speakers; might upgrade to an amp but for now I'm happy. The phone bluetooth is great-- sound in and out is great; no one realizes I'm on a speaker. The BT pickup on my iPhone is also great-- it picks up my music right away. The only problem is that I now need to go rip a bunch more music at higher bps to take advantage of the better sound!

Pros: Great sound, pretty easy to install and operate-- easier to just go thru the buttons and figure them out than to try to use the instructions.

Cons: As with other i found the owners manual too minimal and the CD with real instructions a pain to deal with. Just print the dang thing out so we don't have to look things up on the desktop and go back outside to try it out.

easy to install with Crutchfields installation hardware and instructions included free with my purchase. The hard part was reading through all the settings in the manual and actually making them work properly along with my Androids settings. Bluetooth took a little experimenting to get it paired, but most of that was in my phone's settings. Pandora is excellent, Bluetooth calling works well, and of course the sound quality is top notch which is why I got an Alpine. It just took a little persistence with the settings and alot of experimenting with the sound control. Overall after a few days of listening I am extremely pleased with the performance of this receiver and would absolutely recommend it to everyone with a 5 star rating.

Pros: superb sound quality, nice look and feel, easy to install, Pandora is my favorite feature along with the hands free phone calling through Bluetooth

Cons: A little complicated to get everything set up and adjusted......... almost like a mini computer with all the settings. Be persistant and read, read, read again the instructions on the CD ROM. Eventually you will get the setup completed and have a wonderful system. TuneIt app is a little finicky to get connected, but after a call to Alpine's customer service I got it working. Haven't actually used it yet since the unit has its own sound controls in the settings.

Once I had the unit installed and I played with all the buttons I have arrived at a great sounding unit. Directions are vague and provided little help. Easier to "push buttons" Good features with BlueTooth, phone and Pandora.

Pros: Great sound capability once you learn how to use it.

Cons: Poor directions for use. Did not get much support from Crutchfield even though expressed disappointment several times. Almost returned the unit. One tech told me the Polk Audio speakers needed a "break-in" period, which would improve sound. No one ever offered a walk-through of features and adjustments.

Great bang for the buck. I miss the old look of the Alpine decks with the multiple buttons on the left side, and find the square button to be a bit boring, but this CD player really delivers on features and performance. Making phone calls through the unit is very nice. The CDE-147BT plays nice with the iPhone and the TuneIt app. Found a sweet audio set-up using the app. Very happy with this purchase.

Pros: Great sound, menus are easy to navigate, CD playback sounds great, making calls trough the unit is easy and sounds great on both ends of the phone call. Good color choices for changing the look of the HU.

Cons: Not as attractive as Alpine decks of the past (not a fan of the square button dominating the faceplate).

Other than a few minor things I am very pleased with this deck! I am a HUGE fan of Alpine decks. I had a little trouble pairing my DROID RAZR to it but that was because the instructions weren't written as well as they could be... BUT tech support came to the rescue and after they told me the one thing the instructions didn't it was easy as pie!!! I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase experience with Crutchfield and now wonder why I didn't always buy from them. I had a few minor issues during the install but they were very helpful and very courteous (Dale, Wes, & Chris in tech support). When you go to purchase a deck from Crutchfield talk to a guy named Ziggy... great salesman, courteous, professional, and knows his product!

    Pros: It's Alpine... enough said.

Cons: The multi-colored ability of the deck is really cool I just wish the green was a slightly different shade and that the number/text display were the same color as the rest of the face plate... they don't change with the color you choose.

This is my third alpine radio i have bought over the years. Once again very happy with my purchase.

Pros: Bluetooth works great with my iPone I was surprised it came with a usb extension fairly easy to use controls

Cons: I do not like how it takes up about a 1 inch of the display screen with the source icon.

This deck is great, sounds great and works well with my S4. I can stream audio, hands free calling. The deck supports voice dialing if your phone supports it, I am guessing this was for an Iphone because it said my S4 was not supported. Now that being said when I tried it would tell me that the phone was not supported but Svoice would fire up on my phone and it would voice dial if the phone could hear me. The streaming Bluetooth plays any music my phone is playing with a few functions. I do not use Pandora so I know no idea how that works. I use Spotify and it played it with no problems and I could change the song from the deck controls. I bought this for the streaming bluetooth and the sound quality. Both of which work great, So I am a happy camper.

Pros: Sounds great, easy install, a nice amount of customization with all the sound settings. AMAZING radio pick ups! I found stations I didn't even know were in my city since my factory deck zoomed right past them.

Cons: The user manual is 100% online or on the supplied CD. Which is ok, unless you want to read it while you are in front of the deck. You will need a laptop, smartphone or any various tablet to slowly scroll through all 58 digital pages. Wish there were more display animation. (just words now)

Looks Great and Sounds Awesome. For the price this unit blows away all the double dins at double and triple the price.

Pros: Great sound, Multiple options (Radio, CD, iPod and auxiliary input, which I use for satellite radio) and Many ways to adjust the sound.

Cons: No app for Android. Equalizer is manualy putting in frequencies, instead of slides.

Installed in a 04' Dodge Stratus. Sounds great, had to adjust the Sub amp for a louder output. The amount of ways (Bluetooth, USB, AUX) you can connect to hear music and not limited to just either Radio or CD's is great. Once you figure out all the sub categories each menu item has, it is easy to adjust settings. The TuneIt app is almost pointless since you can do all your adjustments right on the HU.

Pros: Many ways to connect music

Cons: Multiple layers of menu chapters

I really like this Alpine CDE-147BT head unit. The buttons have nice tactical feel, and I love the color choices for the display/buttons. The head unit also has a dimming function, if your car is equip with such, which is great as I have had other head units that distract me during night driving with brightness. The controls for the head unit take a little getting use to, but once you are learn the controls, I LOVE how easy it is to navigate through the menu's. I've seen some other reviews saying that the menu and options are hard to get to, in my opinion, the menu layouts and button functions JUST MAKE SENSE (after you learn the navigation buttons, that is). Bluetooth out of the box is broke. I could not have my phone (running Android 4.1) to connect to this head unit reliably. When it did connect, I could only use the "phone call" function, where I would dial the number on my phone, then use the hands free. Once I did a firmware update, the other Bluetooth functions (phone address book sync, BT audio, voice control, etc.) work. I'd say 1/10 times the phone does not connect to the HU successfully, and I have to monkey with both. sound quality= great. I have 2 sets of components powered by a 4 channel amp, and I'm happy happy! Overall, I really like this head unit. I have had quite a few other head units, and I wish BT connectivity was more reliable like my other head units; Don't take this as a negitive review, this is my most favorite HU thus far.

Pros: physical quality & design sq

After 10 years with my old Alpine CD player, and it finally giving out- I took the chance on this perticular unit when looking for another CD reciever. I knew that I was going to stick with Alpine again, But didn't know excactly which model at first. Well after two weeks of having this unit installed, I knew I had made the right choice. After setting up the "Audio" settings to my liking, this HU sounds even better than my old one. Even thought this unit is a CD player, I catch myself using the USB option more, with my 4GB USB flash drive filled with .mp3's- I can't go wrong. An the .mp3's sound just as clear as if they were on a CD. Just one of the few new options I didn't have before, but have come to appreciate on this new reciever. For anyone planning on picking up this HU or one with similiar specs, there are a few things I do recommend to help and also better your audio experience. If your going to be replacing your old speakers with aftermarket ones, please amp or add Alpine's KTP-445A (Alpine's plug-n-play amplifier) like i did. So easy to install. An sound quality is A LOT better than what remember from my old unit that wasn't amplified in any manner. Sound is now louder, and a lot cleaner. I also recommend that you take your time and open up the owner's manual(CD in box). To take the time to understand the "Audio" settings and how to adjust them. From Media Expander, Xover, to custom 9 band equalizer settings. After, best sound quality for the price!

Pros: Sound quality is top notch. USB flash option. Bluetooth able. More options/settings than really needed, but make your listening experience that much better.

Cons: With so many settings, one can get overwhelmed with how to make this Alpine HU sound even better. If this is your first unit with this many settings, you might see it as a "con" till you get it where you want it. There is a slight learning curve to this HU, so be patient. Yet, after two days of messing with the settings, I now feel that I have this HU right where it should be. Sounds good-

Excellent radio. Installed in a 2006 Subaru Legacy with included DIN mounting face from Crutchfield. I was actually going to do a full custom audio install with 4-channel amp and component speakers, but this head unit really kicks! I have done full-installs before, but I will say this radio has really put life into the factory speakers! I am a very brand-loyal consumer, so I was really set on getting a Pioneer head-unit as I've had one in a previous car. I was drawn to the Alpine since it's display could change to red, which would match my interior illumination better, as well as the customization possibilities with sound EQ. I was impressed by the illumination of the display, as it is nice and bright, as well as clear to read. If you are an audio-phile and take time to set EQ's and really work the unit, you can make even your stock set-up sound amazing. It took me about 45 minutes to really get the sound that I want. As for other features, I have a Droid Razr which instantly synced to the radio VIA bluetooth. Using for calls with the included external microphone, reports from callers have not complained about loss of speaking quality or volume. Voices coming from the car speakers are loud and clear. I would HIGHLY recommend this unit.

Pros: Price, Customization is off the charts, Sound Quality, Bluetooth is painless

Cons: Manual is on CD, Lots of menus to navigate

So, it's been a week since I installed this HU and mostly it's been a good performer. Sound quality, so far with HU's amp through low end Alpine coaxial has been very good. It sounds very natural and balanced then any other HU's I had before. It's good to see they incorporated high SQ to this new HU. I was also very impressed with their Bluetooth integration. Setup was initially bit lacking of instructions but it pairs just fine when you figure it out. Speaker phone quality is excellent, maybe best yet that I've heard. Loud and clear both ways through the use of their very high quality microphone. It's even better then stock BMW setup that I had before. I've also gotten hooked on using their wireless IPOD music via Bluetooth. It's very clear and immensely useful not having to hook it up to USB cable. But, my biggest gripe is a technical glitch of Bluetooth not recognizing my paired iphone 4s. This has happened twice so far. Only way to resolve it was to manually unpair from the phone and then re-pair them. Given the great necessity of working Bluetooth, I may have to return this unit back to Crutchfield... just one more time...

    Pros: Great SQ, neat features

    Cons: broken Bluetooth???

This is an excellent HU from Alpine. I used to use Kenwood Excelon units, but they neutered their crossover section, getting me to try my first Alpine. I am impressed! Great flexibility in the crossover, full set of pre-outs at 4v, excellent sound quality (even before addition of the Powerpack amp) and simple BT pairing with my iPhone. Sound quality is really as good as I've heard from any of my Kenwood or Eclipse units. My old-school Eclipse had been the best I'd heard, the Alpine is right there with it. The one gripe is FM reception, but seems to be specific to some stations. Not sure if that is my Wrangler's antennae or the HU. Playback via USB, CD and BT are all excellent. Another nit is the manual - you actually have to pull the one down from on-line to get full info on all the audio adjustments. Strange. Also, I have not messed with the Tune It app after reading all the issues others were having with it. That was not a selling point for me, so if they get all the bugs out of it at some pint that will just be gravy. Again, great head-unit - particularly for those who value sound quality over "BOOM".

Pros: Sound quality! Excellent BT pairing and function. Lot's of system control built-in.

Cons: Manual (as always), Tune It app is buggy.

Would be 5 stars if the tune it app worked!

I've had this head unit installed for about a week and so far i'm very happy with. All the blue tooth integration with a smartphone is very easy to set up and use. I think the sound quality is great. I like that it has a built in parametric eq, but there is no easy way to adjust it. The reason it isnt easy to adjust is the tuneit app doesnt work at all. It uses your gps location to make sure your not driving(liability) but it always thinks your moving. If your interested in this unit for the tunit app read the reviews for the app for whatever device you have. For ios there wasnt a single positive review of tuneit. The app looks cool, if it worked id say 5 stars.

Cons: Tune it app is completely useless

This is a great stereo! Bluetooth allows you to make & answer calls thru the stereo, as well as listen to Pandora. I picked this one priarily for the rear USB post - I like to keep a flash drive in the glovebox, loaded with all my favorites. The stereo lets you choose specific folders.

Pros: Rear USB, Blue tooth, Hands free speaker, Android AND iPhone compatible.

Cons: Setup is a bit tedious. There a a ton of settings to customize it to your liking, but it can be a daunting task. The Alpine "Tune-It" app seems to have issues. It looks like a neat feature, but you are required to create an account, and log in to use it. I created an account, but it won't let me log in. Also, there is no way to see scrolling text (from radio stations) and a clock at the same time on the display.

Alright, so this deck sound awesome! Typical Alpine sound quality. If you don't like to fiddle with your sound, the 9 factory preset should suit you just fine. If you do want to customize your sound, the sky is the limit with this deck you can pretty much do anything. I like that the deck can be 4 different colors. I changed mine to Red to match my interior lights. Other colors are blue, green, and orange. I don't think you can get a better sounding deck at this price. I'm running 4chan speaker amp and mono sub amp to it. Sounds great! Now the bad stuff. First, the Tune It App sucks. It always thinks you are driving, even when you aren't, which makes it impossible to use. Lots of other users have had the same problem. DO NOT buy this deck solely for the Tune It app. You will be disappointed. The only other two issues I have with this deck is the fan in the back and the Bluetooth audio. The fan is pretty loud. Not that it matters when music is playing because you can't hear it, but still annoying when everything else is silent and you hear a buzzing fan. Also, the Bluetooth audio is choppy sometimes, especially when you first connect your phone to it. It occasionally takes 5 minutes or more for the choppiness to to decrease to an acceptable level, but I usually get frustrated before then and just plug my phone directly into the deck. The audio quality is much better when directly connected anyway, so I rarely use Bluetooth anymore. Just a note, I am using an iPhone 4S.

I have upgraded the audio system in several vehicles, and so far this is the best head unit that I have installed. I decided to only upgrade the head unit because of a review in the Crutchfield magazine a while back that gave comparisons on what upgrade would provide the biggest bang for your buck, and I am really glad that I paid attention to that article. This head unit gives my 1998 Audi A4 a totally new voice. I really like the bluetooth feature, as it allows me to play music from my phone without having to plug in. The music starts after I turn the key, even if my phone is still in my pocket. Love it! especially since before the upgrade i had to use a radio broadcasting device to listen to my own music, which I am sure many of you have had to do in the past and are aware of the difficulties with that kind of setup. Anyway, great product, great deal. I gave a 4 in Ease of Use because there are so many options for the 9 band equalizer that it can get overwhelming. I gave a 4 for coolness because there are some systems that have a higher number of pixels, which looks a lot better. But, you can still change the display color on this head unit, which is a huge plus. I am one of those people who doesn't like the really bright displays when I drive at night, so being able to switch the display to "red" really helps with that.

Pros: Lots of options for 9 band equalizer Bluetooth works well Great deal Able to change display color

Cons: Display doesn't have s many pixels as some displays The number of options for the equalizer can get overwhelming

Needed to replace the 5yo head unit in my Mustang. Dolly suggested the CDE-147BT which I bought since Alpine is my first choice. The Blue Tooth works great and calls are clear. The options seem endless which is good and bad. I still don't have my sound adjusted to my liking because of all the settings you can change. I haven't tried the TuneIt app yet but I think that will be the answer to my audio adjustment issue. The Streaming BT feature is nice because I have Google Play on my Android. Some I have all the music I could ever want to listen to.

Pros: BT calls and streaming audio, tons of audio adjustments. simple easy controls.

Cons: Tons of audio settings. Maybe TuneIt will solve this.

Alpine makes good products. Sound quality is very good. It was easy to install and bluetooth paired very easily. Few things that bothers me are bluetooth and colors. When using phone other side of the phone has hard time listening (lots of noise even using highest noise cancelling mode) other thing colors. You hardly can see red or orange colors in day time. Blue color is fine, Green is more like aqua and red and orange more like purple or blueish white. Only you can see real colors at night or at dark. Any way other functions are o.k. good sound and good looks.

Pros: Sound, Outlook, easy to operate

Cons: Bluetooth (phone only) and color display

My third Alipine...this one doesn't disappoint. Has the rear USB and Rear aux inputs...but it had the 4 channel preamp outs vs 2 channel model (which had USB in front). Sounds good though.

    Pros: brand quality

    Cons: price, maybe

Great product. I have built several car stereo set ups over the years and continue to be impressed with Alpine.

Pros: Very easy to set up and use, especially using the smart phone app to download setting that others have allready done-saves you the trouble, just find one you like. Very expandable if you are looking at building a system.

Cons: My only complaint is that when you turn it completely off, there is nothing on the screen, it is completely blacked out. It would be nice if the clock was on, seeing as the radio is the only clock in the car.

I've always had Kenwood. Installed an Alpine 133BT in the wife's car. Went for the 147BT for my truck. We drive long distances for family vacations. I pair my daughter's Kindle HD 8.9" with the stereo for streaming movies. Her Kindle is connected to a Seagate 1TB Wifi hard drive. The stereo sounds great with her movies. No more wires running back and forth. I have not driven at night yet. Shouldn't be a problem since the colors shift to match any interior. I connected a 32gb memory stick with mp3's. No problem.

Pros: Pandora mode with my Samsung S3 works great. USB memory works great. Bluetooth streaming with zero lag for movies is appreciated. Couldn't be happier. Didn't realize when purchased the stereo has RDS for local channel info.

Cons: Bluetooth setup menu could be easier.

Only had it for about a week now. Had to return the CDE-143BT due to the 2V preouts. This unit has 4V preouts and drives my factory amplifier better. Love the Bluetooth. No problems syncing with iPhone. Could not be happier.

Pros: Easy to use. Bluetooth. Great sound.

Cons: Only has rear USB port.

I STARTED MY QUEST FOR A BETTER STEREO WITH THE 1ST BEING AN KENWOOD EXCELON KDC X596 THEN I RETURNED THAT FOR A JVC KD R840 I LIKED THAT FOR A SHORT TIME UNTIL IT STARTED TO LOSE CONNECTION WITH BLUETOOTH. AND RETURNED IT FOR THE ALPINE. AND I MUST SAY THAT I AM GLAD THAT I DID LOVE SO MUCH ABOUT IT. TOO MANY TO LIST

Pros: LOVE THE WAY THAT IT CONNECT AUTOMATICALLY TO PANDORA W/O OPENING THE APP ITSELF

Cons: SOMETIMES THE AUTO CONNECT DOES NOT ALWAYS CONNECT WHICH THEN I HAVE TO GO THROUGH SO MANY STEPS TO GET IT TO CONNECT BUT I STILL LOVE IT

Great product from Alpine. Just taking it out of the box you can tell this is a quality unit (hefty chassis and cooling fan, etc.). Its is very easy to operate. Took me about 3 days to finely tune the equalizer to my liking. This is just the begining of my sound system of my car so this was a great start.

Love this unit! Bought this for the bluetooth and it works great with my iphone 5. Can listen to my music or Pandora. The hands free calling is also great. Just replaced the head unit and was very impressed with how much better my factory speakers sounded. With the instructions provided by Crutchfield, I had the unit installed in less than hour.

Pros: Ease of use, excellent compatibility with the iPhone. Great sound quality.

Cons: The Alpine Tune It app is kind of a joke. Have never been able to use it as it starts up and thinks I am driving so it will not let me get into the setting.

Been upgrading Alpine units every other year or so for about 12 years and they never disappoint. Great sound quality, radio reception seems to have improved over the years (my only gripe). Haven't used tune-it yet, but don't see a need right now as 3 band eq has made multiple sources easy to get to sound good. Bluetooth works great with my Galaxy Nexus as far as Pandora and phone calls. Have not received any complaints when I use the hands free calling. For the price, it is a great HU

Pros: Ease of install, easy to get to sound good. Basic setup is pretty simple and plenty of advances setting to get into to fine tune.

Cons: maybe a couple more buttons to avoid having to weed through menus

I was looking for a head unit that worked well with the iPhone. I use the Bluetooth feature extensively. Super easy to pair with the iPhone. Call quality is very good, along with streaming music via Bluetooth. I ran the USB and never use it! Still learning all the features!

Pros: Awesome compatibility with the iPhone. Great sound quality. Display colors changeable to match interior lighting.

Cons: It may be user error, but haven't figured out how make use of the USB and Bluetooth for pandora with out going into the settings. Basically you have to choose how you want to use pandora (USB or Bluetooth). You can not alternate without going back in to the settings menu and change it. I leave it on Bluetooth. Sound quality is good and I don't have to plug and unplug phone every time I get in and out of the vehicle. Down side is it isn't charging when I'm listening.

Bought this unit to replace a pioneer walmart unit and Wow what a difference in sound quality! The unit is very easy to setup and the color change effect is really nice for matching it up to the interior's factory styling. The blue tooth is great for calls, and links very well, but the best things about it is the fact I have a 7" samsung tablet that I keep my media on and it is awesome to be able to scroll through music and videos on the fly without the hassle of wires in my way. It is also cross functional in a way that you can also controll the tablet from the head unit its self with play, pause and scroll from song to folder. If you buy this unit you will not be disappointed

Pros: Everything works flawlessly, easy to setup, sound quality is instantly noticeable, and BT works great! Also the price is hard to beat for everything it offers

    Cons: None

The instructions they sent and the needed accessories that were included with my order made this task very simple. I definately recommend this Alpine deck to anyone that is looking to upgrade their system.

This is a great bluetooth receiver if you're looking to upgrade your head unit. It takes a little effort to figure out, but that's what the instructions are for. Easy controls, has great expandability for subwoofers and amps, plenty of features, hands free phone capability, and the iPod hookup is nice. The lighting is pretty cool, too. The parametric EQ is way beyond my head to use effectively, so I just use the Tune-It app and found a custom EQ for my car and applied it.

Pros: Great features, looks great, expandability, ease of controls, parametric EQ for customizing sound like none other

Cons: Can get a little complicated with all the settings/features. The parametric EQ is pretty intense.
