Alpine's HCE-C157D rear-view camera gives you a wide-angle view of what's behind you for safer maneuvering in tight places. The camera works well in low-light situations and offers a 190° horizontal viewing angle. You'll get a bright, wide look at what's behind your vehicle, day or night.

This tiny camera fits just about anywhere, and it uses the proprietary Alpine "direct camera" connector so it'll work only with select Alpine DVD or navigation receiver with that type of input. The Automatic Imaging function automatically adjusts the picture for maximum intelligibility in different lighting conditions. You can pair it with Alpine's KTX-C10LP license plate mounting kit, for a handy and stealthy installation solution.

Note: Sorry, Crutchfield cannot ship Alpine products to Guam or Puerto Rico.

Note: A rear-view camera provides an additional view when reversing your vehicle. It is intended to be used in conjuction with your rear- and side-view mirrors to give a fuller picture of what's behind you. It is not intended as a replacement for your mirrors.

Super wide angle

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crystal clear picture from this little gem. Chose this camera to go with my Alpine X009-GM Restyle Nav System. Camera plugs directly into harness. Camera connector plug and cable plugs are nice and small to make fishing them through various openings en route back to stereo a breeze.

Pros: Nice clear image, small connectors, plenty of cable.

Cons: Took a little getting used to the fish-eye effect of the super wide angle image.

extra wide angle not worth it!

Written by: Edward T from Washington DC on October 27, 2013

I first bought the Accele unit but it didn't work. I then found this unit here and thought the idea of a plug and play connection would be perfect. It even made my decision easier with the review here. Boy, I was dead wrong! First, there is nothing tiny or small about this unit. Once mounted on the bracket, it sticks out like a sore thumb ('09 Toyota Sienna). The extra wide angle is great for seeing object behind but the fish-eye effect makes everything especially lines on the pavement looks unnatural. The worse view is night time. The picture is grainy and too dark. The extreme curvature is also make it hard to decipher the image. I wish I can post pictures here to show you. do NOT buy.

Pros: direct plug in to my Alpine INE-S920HD Navigation unit

Cons: terrible at night

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This camera has 190 view so the picture is bubbled a little. It was not difficult to install due to the fact a radio was already being installed at the same time. It sure makes it easy to see when you are in a giant van!

Pros: Nice picture works great easy to install

Cons: Due to the type of car we couldn't center the camera on the car.

The clear, color images appear on the LCD screen of your compatible Alpine Mobile Multimedia head unit to help you see obstructions behind the vehicle as you back into a parking spot, or to keep an eye on cargo you may be towing.
